Hey guys, today’s case is a very sad case, in which a 14 year old girl’s life was taken on a night where she was supposed to have fun, and be a kid. This is Leigh Mears’ story. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I was out at a bar w my guy bff and I ran into this chic who I didn’t get along w. Like we had gotten into multiple fights, both verbal & physical. But as my bff and I we’re leaving I looked down into the parking lot & saw her against her car w a guy pushed against her tryna do something. So I went over n asked if she was okay. The guy told me to mind my business and that’s when I noticed that she was basically passed out. So I yelled for my guy bff & he came over got rid of the guy & I got her and her car to a mutual friends house where I knew she’d be safe for the night. Told the mutual friend what had happened so she could inform her friend when she woke up next day. Like I said I do not like that girl at all, but I saw that she was in a bad situation & I couldn’t just leave her. It baffles me that these kids at this party just let all the guys beat up n rape Leigh. It sickens me tbh.

In the 90s, as a teen, i did my best to talk down the culture that was. The deviance in other boys which drove them to target drunk girls. They started calling me a homosexual after i refused to take advantage of a seriously intoxicated girl i knew for only 5 seconds. These people were also from country n.s.w....... Guess who then became their target and next victim?

This poor girl just wanted to go out for some innocent teenage fun and was targeted like an animal. The fact that there were so many bystanders and people willing to not only look the other way but blame HER for what happened is absolutely disgusting. Such a disgusting case. Everyone’s actions except Leigh and her family, are all disgusting. Justice was not served for this little girl. She was failed by the people at the party, the adults, the cops, lawyers, judge, jury etc.

I have been both the drunk person a rape victim told about the rape(2 diff times) and the victim of rape at a party like this. I was TRASHED, fall down, throw up drunk when i was told about the rape once, and just drunk when i was told the second time. Even underage i called for help! Being drunk is NO EXCUSE for not helping someone!! I can easily imagine what she went through that night. If it was dark out he may not know she was bleeding. My assumption is she was a virgin and was bleeding cuz of that. I say that cuz usually a younger rapist isnt super violent.. but of course we dont know for sure. This case hurts my heart so much cuz its so close to home. Poor leigh.😢

I needed to let you know that I will be rewatching this video in particular with my granddaughter. This starts a conversation she and I need to have. I am so disgusted and angry!!! What the actual f!! What pigs. They should all be disgusted and ashamed of themselves and the next should be their parents!!! What are you teaching these animals?! Show some accountability, but no the perpetrators are just pathetic idiots!! She was a CHILD and a unwilling and disoriented victim. I just can’t imagine how her family feels. I remember this case . I grew up near Newcastle , and I remember there was an article printed about it in a magazine I read. I was a bit younger so this article must have been printed a few years after , but I always remember Leigh Leigh and what she went through , and how dispicable those around acted even afterwards.

I am very much subscribed, and I listen to the cases often over and over because the quality of your voice recounting the stories is quite calming despite the content. Thank you for giving Awareness and a voice to the voiceless. My husband and I listen to these together after a day at work. - you might consider covering cases that have been on A&Es “I survived” also. I don’t believe many true crime creators have covered many and there are so many cases!. First of all, I wasn’t allowed to go to parties like this at age 14. My parents talked to parents of anyone who’s house I went to. That includes my 2 best friends that were always with me. My parents talked to their parents EVERY TIME we spent the night at one of their houses. However, if I HAD gotten into this situation- my dad would have been kicking other peoples kid’s asses until he found me at the party. My parents didn’t play. I’m 49 and I just think too many parents try to be friends to their kids instead of being a parent.

To me you can be friends while still parenting! I’m not gonna let my daughter go to these parties, I’m also gonna be real with her and not hold back that’s where these other parents fail, they don’t even teach them anything then expect them to handle their situations yet they don’t even know how bad certain situations can be! I want my daughter to understand why I’m doing what I’m doing not just no you can’t because I said so! That makes kids wanna do just the opposite of what you said aka putting themselves in danger. Yeah we never wanna scare our kids but sadly reality is scarier and the world is a dangerous place that you have to look every way to be safe.

This just blows my mind. Any party I ever went to in high school if a girl comes back inside and says someone raped her me and really anyone else would try to get to the bottom of it. What kind of depraved, morally corrupt place is this? Also, screw that, if you rape someone no matter if you're 15 or not you should have your name released and adult punishment applied. It makes me wonder if any of those kids parents were either in law enforcement or in the justice system at all or even had friends in high places because it didn't make sense that they ALL failed this child, cops for not doing their jobs, prosecutor not making sure everyone saw the small innocent child she was & that she was the victim! instead of being focused on the "gentle giant" who was actually a disgusting & horrid monster! Then there's the judge that took the side of the sicko in training instead of the side of the poor innocent child that had no way to defend herself or anyone willing to help her! I'm just so disgusted by all of it! Who knows there could have been semen that they missed due to lack of care or it was done away with on purpose.

If you get a chance read Puberty Blues. It's the true story of male Aussie mentality through the 70's & 80's. Girls considered ugly or unpopular are targeted for sexual assault & the worst thing is that all the popular kids will support & cover for these monsters to commit their crimes. I can also tell you that all those involved in this crime will even today tell you that they did nothing wrong & that she got what she deserved.

I was beaten until I blacked out and was assaulted, that was My first time.. I find it comforting that even though it horrible at least I was out of it for the assult so I only remember bits. For such a long time I blamed myself. But he was of age (I was 15). He knew what he did. He is now in jail for assaulting a differnt women. I will continue to watch the video. This poor girl deserved so much more. So even though its hard to hear she deserves me to listen to her story. ❤

Wow what a trashy community!! These ppl involved especially the boys who did it and the ones who took up 4 them should be disgusted with theirselves. This woulda bn my sign to move. Just knowing this many p.o.s ppl was walking around would make me leave. This pisses me off so bad. When I was 15 I lost my virginity to my same age BF and it was not rough but lmk tell you the amount of blood terrifies me still. I had to wash all my bedding then got dressed and had on my underwear a pair of boxers and biboverhalls on and I bleed through everything had to have my mom pick me up (said it was my period) and had to sit in the shower for almost an hour. And it hurt so much! So I feel so awful for this poor child. These are sick people and everyone who even witnessed this should have been locked up!! Disgusting!

I have a extremely sad and extremely great crime that you can tell. My ex-husband actually went to West High School this this guy named Adam Moss. We live in Sioux City, IA in the USA. Back on August 30, 2001 he killed 7 people which included his girlfriend and her 5 children ages ranging between 6-12, as well as his alleged boyfriend Ronald Fish who was a well known businessman in Sioux City where the business called Fish Tires is still up and running to this day. He killed Ron by stabbing him, and as far as everyone else he killed them all with a hammer. It was completely insane and horrible and alot of the Police men on the scene that day had to go through therapy and still to this day has really affected them mentally that's for sure. He did recieve 7 life sentences for his crime but unfortunately back on June 26th 2013 he committed suicide by hanging in his cell. It's such a horrible crime that took place and there has really only been I believe 2 other people on Facebook that has told this story, so I believe this one would be a great one for you to tell. This crime has really affected the community since then and I actually have to drive past the house that the poor mother (girlfriend) lived in with her 5 children almost everyday on my way into work. It's sad and horrific. Thanks by the way, I REALLY love your channel and you so much. I basically listen to you everyday at work on my earbuds while working and it REALLY makes the time go by super quick. Thanks again!

These cases where the victim is close to my age always seem to hit harder. In 1989, I was 15. I definitely went to some sketchy field parties where everyone was drunk and things could have gone south. Thanks for covering this case. RIP Lee Lee

Man my first time going to a party I was 12 and it was a lot of people over 18 but in my small town of Coolidge az in the usa everyone knows eachother and they convinced me to try coke and drink so I did bc I looked up to them and ever sense I was drinking till like 5 months later I stopped drinking I passed up n threw up on my hair and everything so I stopped drinking but still did drugs im 19 now

This is insane. Start to finish - how did NO ONE do ANYTHING?! I'm in shock. I was a teen who drank a lot, i went to a lot of parties and if i EVER saw this i'd have been swinging. I have banged on the door of the party host cus he was in there with a drunk girl who had a bf. The host screamed "I don't care if you're a girl when i come out i'm throwing punches" AND I KEPT BANGING. Like??? These people???? (I graduated in 2015 so this was years ago) I'll just never understand not doin anything

This is heartbreaking. I was 14 in 1989 and went to some crazy parties, though nothing like this! Underage drinking was very common and I usually arranged to stay over at friend’s homes that had more relaxed parents if I knew I would be drinking. As I got a bit older, my Dad would come and pick me up. Looking back, I’m so grateful to him, the amount of times he came out at 2am to pick up me and my drunken mates, what a legend! I’m also not blaming the step father-I don’t know exactly what the situation was that night. However, if my Dad had arranged to pick me up, saw all the drunken teens and couldn’t find me, he would have got hold of the parents of the ‘friend’ I had supposedly gone home with and then the police. There is no way he would have gone home without finding me. Unfortunately, back then, SA was more common and almost just accepted. I don’t mean r*pe, (though victims are generally treated MUCH better these days), but women and girls could expect to be cat called, groped or generally touched without consent and just have to brush it off. Looking back, it was maddening, but usually put down to how the girl was acting, what she was wearing, and ‘boys being boys’. Makes me angry looking back.
