And I love the Jet Li teases throughout the MV, of course it's from the movie Romeo must die. I forever treasure that film, cheesy movie but kickass fun watch. Russell Wong was one of the most underrated actor/stuntman ever. RIP Queen Aaliyah & DMX.
Oh my gosh, some dudes that saw me get off the plane in Florida try to talk to me and they told me they were going to put a fake waxed body on the plane and the news was in on it. I’m not dead.
RIP DMX (December 18, 1970 - April 9, 2021), aged 50 And RIP Aaliyah (January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001), aged 22 You both will be remembered as legends.
@jazzy7494 riiiiight!!!! From the time she BUST on the scene until her dying day, she DEMANDED the spotlight AND the title as theeeee TOP R&B princess of her time! At her young and tender age she'd accomplished sooooo much❤️ like many MANY others, WE- the WORLD, lost- a beautiful talented young lady🥺 she's most DEFINITELY missed💔
By the way, that was one of the best movies ever made, simply because it touched on virtually every genre: comedy, drama, action, foreign film, karate, Flick, family situation, romance, mob flick.
You don't know how beautiful Aaliyah was? She was so beautiful she didn't need to be curvy, or any type of surgery. As matter of fact, she was so pretty without makeup.
Heck yes she WAS! Like a goddess amongst mortal folks. I mean not only was she blessed with the looks, but the good lord gifted this young woman such a melodic voice to boot.
Beyonce could NEVER. Aaliyah had something she doesn’t have, Baby Girl was relatable. We all dressed like Aaliyah and mimicked her style. She wasn’t just the Princess of R&B she was the princess of the people ❤
@@traceydriver9737 Tell the industry to stop comparing, they always robbing us of artist, ruining careers or killing off competition because they are afraid to let us choose.
Aaliyah could literally fit in with any kind of crowd...amazing. The hood, the business folk, etc. without even swaying from who she naturally is. I never knew her personally but this sure what it seemed like watching her in action.
This video now has more meaning with not just the lost of baby girl, but now DMX. DMX loved Aaliyah, and was devastated with her death. He was never the same after passing. Rip to both.
Love how they shot this with Aaliyah chilling in the hood with the homies. Not only was she loved and idolized by women, she had the hardest of men's respect..
I don't know if that's true. A lot of men are only courteous to a woman out of respect for the man she's with. Lots were probably leaving her alone to show respect to DMX, cause DMX let it be known he loved her. Reminds me of when Nipsey Hussle passed and guys were immediately hitting on Lauren London while she was grieving. Responses from a lot of men were "Show some respect to Nipsey. He's barely in the grave." They didn't mention Lauren's feelings at all.
It's so strange to know they're both no longer here. Still shocking that 20 years has gone by since Aaliyah passed and just last week was the 2-decade anniversary of 9/11. 2oo1 had hot music but also catastrophic amounts of tragedies. R.I.P. to the dearly departed.
Dannnng, you REMEMBERED! Yes ma’am…so many changes just too damn quickly. It’s a trip to know now they’re BOTH finally up there together, isn’t it? DMX was my workout jams for practice back in the day or chillin with the boys and she was the music that guided a young man on what to…ahem well we’ll just tell the kids to reference “Rock The Boat” hehe to leave the details out n keep it classy.
It is strange, especially since they seem so alive in these videos. Both of their deaths were without warning. They are resting in peace now. Aaliyah's essence is still as fresh as it was back then💛
I lived in Yonkers when this video was filmed. Yonkers,ny exactly where DMX lived and grew up. We'd see him alot. He was cool af. I remember them doing this video and it was so chill..and they allowed everyone from that project housing to be in the video. Damn I miss them both. Especially x..I smoked a blunt with him and he's the best and funniest storyteller and singer lol. He loved his 80s r&b. He passed on my bday and that really hurt. April 10. I'm miss them both immensely
I remember this being brand new, and I remember how much I LOVED the year 2000 for music. Time is flying, we're all getting older, life has thrown us some obstacles and people are passing left and right. Sometimes I listen to these songs and close my eyes to remember all of the people, places and things I experienced back in those days. Even DMX and Aliyah are gone, too. Super sad. If you are reading this, please enjoy where you're at in life. These days are super different but our memories can remain with us. Good luck to all of you. Cant believe its 2023, and life just flew by!
YES, THE WHOLE WORLD WAS IN LOVE WITH MUSIC. I remember that period vividly, my early years becoming an adult, incredible, all across the genres. Fantastic House parties, R&B Parties, Pop clubs, it really was the celebration of a new millennium full of faith and hope. I feel so grateful.
@@pilargonzalez8442 Yesssss parties, friends, romance, flings, a lil drama here & there but all in all those days were the BEST. We getting old. Music was basically our version of instagram or Tiktok... ahhh I miss those days. Positive vibes to you.
I love her but she was pretty and could dance, like Beyonce. She didn't change the game. Sorry. Had she lived, she would have been Ciara. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is old .ive never known her music to be in accessible. This is a trendy way I’m now and I’m hey I fee used her image . Her fans know these songs .
Late 90s was a different world. Glad I lived through it. Over 20 of my friends didn't make it. I praise God to still be here. R.I.P to Aaliyah and X babaaay !! 🙏
2024 and i have watched this video 4 times in a row. She was so naturally beautiful and DMX was so real. You could see the love and respect between the two. Continue to RIP you two!😢
R.I.P. Aaliyah and X . This hits so different now that y’all are both gone . We love you guys and we’ll see you when we get there . X make sure you give Aaliyah a nice tight hug for us. We see y’all flying high up above
Timeless beat and precious gem from the old school days. This is my jam right here. The best time to be born and living the 90s was definitely special. Aaliyah and DMX my perfect recipe to start the day and sleep at night. Love to see them together enjoying themselves here. May they both rest in peace. Now the song has a bigger stronger feeling to it.👌 👏 Everytime I heard Aaliyah she always made my heart happy. She brought healing, great vibe, strong influence, positive message. This is something that will last forever for many generations and years to come. We would all get older and this will fit in like it's just been released. All of Aaliyah music just pure gold, futuristic, creatively and beautifully produced. Aaliyah had a heart of gold. She was a sweet humble kind human being that was already an angel on earth but her life was cut short. God definitely gained an angel in heaven. 😇 🙏 🤲 Not to mention her beauty talent style iconic nature personality and qualities that are unmatched. All the beats and rhythms in her songs were so dope and fresh. Her short presence here on earth was definitely warm tender bittersweet but memorable and joyful to watch. Am glad I was alive breathing while she was still here. Being alive in this time was everything. Pairing with the great and talented DMX was pure insanity. Perfect match. God bless them both your music will live on for many years to come. Aaliyah know that you continue to touch and inspire so many around the world. We are all grateful for your time and beautiful memories. You continue to live in our hearts and souls. DMX will truly be remembered as well for his great rap his music persona and style. This is a wrap. God bless yall. 🔥 👏 👌
Aaliyah was all the R&B music industry about to conquer the whole entertainment world what a loss still heartbreaking 💔 rest in heaven Aaliyah the Goddess and DMX the King
I’m 35 and it hurts knowing both are gone. Aaliyah was suppose to be the next Whitney; a true diva who could do it all. X was the blend of a street dude who’s music could reach around the world.
I grew up listening to Aaliyah, she always had this special & unique spark about her. She was never a Diva - still always wore her crown. My daughter is now 14 and knows & loves all her music. I will make sure even my grandchildren will know her Legacy - her Music & her angel being❤ R.I.P. Aaliyah 🕊️ & DMX🕊️
