sassy here their whole ‘Ungodly Hour’ era gives heavy Aaliyah vibes. The dark R&B vibe, with sweet vocals and a sense of maturity and femininity. ChloexHalle’s song ‘Forgive Me’ is an example of this imo...
I would’ve fainted this is my literal wifey I love her so much like there’s no words to describe how much I love this woman she was a real artist and she will truly be missed forever and ever
No she wasn’t. She was of her time. A young Janet Jackson. Aaliyah was right where she needed to be! 🙋🏽♂️I was there to witness her ascend. Her death was a hard day
Mario Scharer It was a hard day. I still remember exactly where I was when I heard she'd been killed in a plane accident. I was having a good day, but that was very hard news to hear, and really put a damper on my day. RIP Aaliyah.
Did my girl just sing and danced a whole song and just walks to have a conversation without a break ...didn’t run out of air and swearing balls ... she’s freaking amazing !
LOVE that she sang in a lower register to project better while dancing. Everything seemed so effortless. That’s what made her stand out. Nothing felt forced. Everything from her look and vocals to her dancing felt natural. 💜
@@CatACor21. I have had many freinds in the industry including also singing, dancing and having a family full of ministers, musicians and vicalists hon so I know what a rehersal is,I know because I've actually studied and been around the industry that when someone's really good they can dance on the spot, sing on the spot or run there sound check very quickly and go on National TV which many greats have done it's called Raw Talent and elite skills, nice try trying to school me though (💙) .Bye now!
lynn perry And my mim was BFFs with Madonna 🙄 It rehearsals and dedication. She just had the personality to go with it. That’s what made her stand out. Talent is only always a part of what you portray.
@@CatACor21. okay great what I said as my opinion still stands,It's a fact that yes dedication, rehersals, classes, coaching yes that's a part of it but people constantly come on her posts trying to downplay her talent and legacy so let me ask you this, If you where flown to New York, given her exact choreographer, used your "dedication and had to perform against her with all tbe same professional stuff could you win? You obviously are a hater to the moon and back because your sitting on a legends video,on my comment acting like you're about to die pretty much unless someone says well yeah she wasn't all that,It's always a woman hating a woman or a non black person trying to school someone on thier own culture lol.
The way she was so light on her feet while singing live and serving face is siiiiiickening😫 SHE DID THAT SHIT WITH NO EFFORT. Then went right into an interview. I'm truly amazed right now.
Maybe she wasn’t feeling well, maybe she was told not to exert herself or she would have a hard time singing live, cuz on stage, they usually lip sync to their songs so they can put on a wild performance
Me too. Aaliyah and Janet were already hanging out together and talking about it, however Janet's schedule during the All for you era was rdiciolous, and Aaliyah's schedule was rigorous too. They would have done it around 2002-2003 I assume, unfortunately, this never came to be and Aaliyah passed before they could get in the studio. It would have been the most fire, amazing, and iconic collaboration of all time.
Aaliyah was and is such a high vibrational queen. When I see her smile, I can't help but smile. When I see her dance, its like looking at something move in slow motion. I pay attention to every detail. Truly a gift to the world and an unforgettable presence.
Aaliyah died only four years after me being born and now I’m a year younger than when she passed. I’m happy my family introduced me to this ethereal, influential, and beautiful talent. Rest easy babygirl 🕊
Aaliyah was the epitome of self love. I’m tired of seeing blown up body parts in artist with low self esteem. It’s cringe. I miss Aaliyah. Babygirl was beautiful and smart. No one could deny that.
Man, I was in love with some Aaliyah and TLC. They had the look, the pipes and the moves. So sexy and smooth at the same time. Definitely gone too soon.
@@BBFirefly420 And you right, but why make it seem like artists didn’t have their vocals altered back then just like how they do now? people can use auto tune for a variety of reasons, not just because they can’t hit a note.
She was so beautiful 😍😍😍😍❤❤ No Fake Boobs No Fake Ass just a Natural Beauty with Not a Lot of heavy make up ether Just a Natural beauty with Talent God I miss her 😭😭😭😭😭
Her singing was so much better than she got credit for! People would say she whispered or sang similar to Janet Jackson. I disagree. Her vocals were extremely good even in a live performance as u can see. She had to keep the dancing light in this performance so that she could interview. So amazing. True lost.
I love her live performances! She show cases that deeper tone and power that for some reason people thought she lacked! But she should have wore a belt that day. She was fighting to keep them pants up🤣😭
Is no body else noticing she just turned out the perfect performance from inside the center of the formation, then goes straight to the interview chair: Flawless. National treasure.
Yo she did this! Her vocals were so on point for a live dance performance. She switched the ad-libs up to match her style of the song, she looked beautiful, danced great, & just did the damn thang. I don't know how she could perform and then just walk directly over for a sit down interview with Jay Leno as if she didn't just walk off stage...I woulda been out of breath AF!!! 😩
I love how she actually did the whole thing live because some stars just lip sync and that kind of ruins the purpose of the concert that’s why I love Aaliyah 3 Years Later: 😭😭😭 This comment is so cringey to me I don’t even remember making it but thanks for the 1K likes
@Imani Alexander singing live was something artists were proud of. Thats a major reason why people watched variety shows, late night shows, talk shows, awards shows, etc. Especially people considered real or good artists. Black vocalist were phenomenal live artists. It helped arsenio and its showtime at the apollo. Thats why milli vanilli and the simpson sister faced so many backlash. Their presumed live vocals werent live. By the 80s soul train stopped live weekly vocals alltogether. Btw, there IZZ a difference between a untruth, mistake, or mispeaking. (Unless ur referring to the #lies tagline tamarbraxton uses)
From my understanding, some shows wouldn’t allow artist to sing live. Some shows made them lip sync and some made them sing live if they were gonna perform. Not all. But I’ve heard multiple artist say this.
I was just sitting here wondering how she would probably be killing it right now. She was approaching a really nice place in her career and was rising really quickly
I smiled literally every second of this video. She was so naturally beautiful, her voice so graceful and her moves so smooth. She seemed SO genuinely sweet and humble. She would be the biggest star today 😩🤍🙏🏼
I surely hope both Jay Leno and his audience treasure the privilege and honor to have watched and enjoyed Aaliyah's live performance!! .. I surely miss her. Even my ex husband who was my boyfriend at the time that we learned of Aaliyah's death, he cried like a baby. RIP beautiful Princess Aaliyah 💕✝️😓
One of my fave Aaliyah songs. It's the motto in life. If you first don't succeed. Then dust yourself off and try again. So damn true. Miss you Aaliyah. 🙏
I don't know who told you Aaliyah wasn’t a very good performer They were wrong. I’m Aaliyah's number one fan i've never heard that. Instead we love the way Aaliyah dance and move as a matter of fact many females who love her get their BELLY ROLL dance from her.
I love how she was never made fun of for being too skinny (at least, not to my knowledge) and I love how even though she was so tiny, she had the confidence to wear black. Wish I would have had more confidence when I was a teenager and in my early 20s, when people teased me relentlessly for being too thin and not having a butt. Some people just can't help it. It's called genetics. But people can be so cruel. Wish I would have just owned it like her. On a side note, I never realized that she had a vampire obsession. I'm so glad she got to fulfill her dream by playing a vampire, before her death.😊💗
Yes I was teased too for being skinny but I realized those ppl just wanted what we have. I’m in my early 20s now and Black is my favorite thing to wear. It just has to be textured, notice Liyahs clothing had cuts and certain fabrics so it looked it great. She said was teased a lot for being skinny but she started to embrace her size with age. I always tell ppl I don’t mind not having a big butt because pretty girls don’t need to drag a wagon, look at Aaliyah. Once I mention Aaliyah they shut up 😁🤣 she definitely repped her set for the skinny girls
@Perfect Storm Aww Hugs from me! She was a natural beauty, now people so fake they walking around looking like cartoon characters from Bug's Life. It's a new day, I think people are realizing its cool to just be yourself.
There is no other female performer like her. Others have imitated her but not equal as her. One of her other gift is that she was the valedictorian of her high school graduation. Aaliyah gone but not forgotten. RIP. 👏🏽🙏🏾💃🏻
I’m so glad we have a lot of videos, photos, interviews etc of her because then we can always see her when we miss her! It’s bitter sweet but it’s better than nothing at all!!
I been in love wit this woman since I was 12....I'm about to turn 32. My love for her has never faded away nor died. All these years...and I'm still in love!!!!! Dedicated and devoted #1 die hard fan!!!!!!!!! Always & forever love you Babygirl❤️❤️❤️
