Aint that the truth. The way he plays really reminds me of Charles Haley but 50 pounds heavier. Ball snaps they just blow the play up. Like a grenade went off in the backfield.
He's been so dominant that I wouldn't argue with you if you told me "best defensive player of all time". He just shouldn't be able to move this fast, like my dude defying the laws of physics and shit.
For his size and strength- his speed is unparalleled. Best interior defensive lineman the league has seen. His rushing ability is only comparable to Lawerence Taylor and Reggie White. That alone says something
It's amazing how easily he splits double teams. It's also funny how panicked qbs look when they seem him bearing down on them. They get flustered and drop the ball.
AWESOME quickness, power and leverage but what really sets him apart are his GREAT hands, he would have made Ip Man proud with his Wing Chun-like abilities.
When it's all said and done, he will be the best DT to have ever played no question. Dudes an absolute beast, glad I was able to watch him play in my lifetime
This is awesome thanks for making this I have a game tomorrow and I was looking for a good Aaron Donald highlight vid for film and this one war perfect
I hope this video and other videos like this can reinvigorate an appreciation for lineman as a whole. Some of these are stunts, but most are pure effort and skill.
For a long time, I thought there would never be another DT like (early) Joe Greene. He was a man among boys before his shoulder injuries. Aaron Donald is the first person I've seen to duplicate that type of dominance.
Bro, he puts basketball moves on the O Lineman. By the time they think its a good time to try and get hands on him, he's gone and if you happen to get him, his hands are so good, he gets you off in 1/2 a second.
I'm a Chiefs fan and firmly believe Chris Jones is the second best DT in the NFL. Jones is often dominant against double teams and can be a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to plan around. That said, Aaron Donald is on a completely different level. He is so dominant it's almost unfair. I've been watching the NFL religiously for 40 years and the only other defensive player I've seen that appeared to be completely unstoppable was Derrick Thomas. And even Thomas was only able to sustain that insane level for a handful of years. What Donald does- and from the inside no less- is probably the most impressive thing I've ever seen from a defensive player and there will eventually be an argument for him being the greatest defensive player of all- time (and rightfully so).
If you were to create a player in a video game and maxed out all the stats, you would get Aaron Donald. To be that quick, at that size, with that strength.... Just incredible.
Some people are still ignorant to the fact that AD put up the numbers he did and had the career he had while being consistently double or triple-teamed on over 60% of every snap.
That was not human. No one should have that level of speed, power, instincts, agility all in one. I mean it’s like literally watching Superman on the field. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive.
This is me playing flag football in a high school that has no sports because I’m 6’5 and lengthy and I play sports outside of school but this guy is making grown men look like kids
