It helps that he’s got otherworldly strength and explosiveness but man, he’s also just EXTREMELY GOOD at football. One of the best football players of all-time hands down.
Watching him play I knew he was built but I thought he was pudgy. He's just massive that it's deceiving with the uniform on. No wonder he demands a double team all the time.
Seeing him without his pads just makes him even more formidable. He's extremely strong especially because he is smaller than most d-linemen especially 3 tec d tackles.
Correct if I'm wrong ....but haven't 3 DT ALWAYS been smaller but built more robust , stronger and stocker than your typical 4-3 DT which are taller /bigger but rely more on finesse and explosiveness? I guess that's what makes Donald special ..he's the best of both worlds .
@@MikeMike-yc8gg Different personel philosophy. When I played in highschool, we ran a 4-3 where the NT and the Ends functioned as containment while the 3tec and backers could go apeshit in pursuit or blitzes. The NT was a big and strong dude who was robust, the 3tec wasn't that much smaller than the NT but he was so athletic and hand a few good moves, but he was lowkey weak.
The man is a freak of nature he is so talented already and he still has alot more years to get better that is scary..he keeps qb's up at night with the cold sweats knowing he is coming for them...keep doing your thing bro u are a beast
He benched 550 qt rams camp last yr and you can see why . there prolly isnt one DT in the league built like him right now . and only being 6' helps alot. That low center of gravity . hes like a bowling ball wrapped in barbed wire . when his career is over he will be the best dt to play
Qey Visuals idk bro Donald has been double and triple teamed all season and he doesn’t look the same. The Ravens made him look like a child out there. He’s still the best but idk if your statement is true.
The city of Pittsburgh breeds a different level of Athlete! Along with Terrelle Pryor he is the best overall athlete I've seen at the High school level in this Generation from the Burgh
Yes, Sapp was a generational talent but A Donald’s hands and hips have changed what a prototype DT looks like .. similar to how LT changed what a pure pass rusher looked like
@@charlesriles252 Ok. Word up. Just wanted to see where you stood on that, I can't make up my mind. I was thinking maybe you forgot about Sapp. I gotta watch some more tape now. I'll get back with you on my end.
As a shorter guy, he can create a lot of torque which is how he gets around most people. Plus his strength is unbelievable. Donald can easily be a top judo specialist. But I do hate that he treats the game as a one-on-one play. I don't see a team player but a very strong individual contributor. Unfortunately, super talented players end up being double teamed and less effective as we saw in SB LIII.
Combat sports are lucky there's that much money in the NFL because imagine Donald as a pro fighter. Boxing or MMA, he'd be a heavy weight champion in either sports. He's a genetic freak athlete that would excel at any sport he chooses.
Aaron Donald: "Just do that thing where you use your superior reflexes to get the perfect jump and your amazing quickness to get around the linemen. Alternatively, you can do that thing where you fling 300 pound linemen out of the way with your strength."
Since when have DT'S started looking like the Stunt Men for the damn "Hulk"? Great player? Yes!!! Amazing Fundamentals? Yes!!! Yolked and all Geared Up? No question! Looks like Thanos who BTW was CGI? Yes! Better than Lawrence Taylor?? Hell No, not even PED'S can bring his game to LT status. Heard someone on TV compare him to LT.
@@lamueljsackson1376 and the fact he’s shorter compared to a average sized d line men makes it harder for o line men to block him especially with his strength and weight
