@@ThePreachingOfHisWord unlike most dlinemenn he is 285lbs of PURE MUSCLE. bruh he has defined abs that you can clearly see. Being strong and having core allows him to be strong and fast at the same time, honestly unfair
@@rareitem_...John Randle was the original. They were actually about the same size. He was taking on double and triple teams. And he lined up against legends.
@@jadenmolter-castiglioni8661 Yea but can’t lie that Aaron Donald Will be number 1 by the end of his career he has joe Greene beat in every single category besides Super Bowls
@@janikrauch538 Aaron Donald or Mean Joe? You're the first person I've heard say that Lawrence Taylor isn't the defensive goat. That's not a problem btw, I'm just surprised.
@@DwayneIsKing THE TENNESE TITANS JUST GAVE THOSE FOOLS🤪 A CACULATED IT AINT OVER TO THE FAT LADY SINGS😂 ! SEAHAWKS ARE SOFT🤫, THEY'RE NOT HUNGARY🤫 ! WHO LIKES A LOSING TEAM🤡🐔🃏 THAT SHOWS UP ON A SUNDAY TO PLAY GRAB-ASS !🎱🐑
You can add to this video now. He was INCREDIBLE in the post season and IMO, is the reason the Rams have their 2nd Lombardi. There really is no one like him. Him and Cooper Kupp have shown EVERYONE what HARD WORK and DEDICATION can do!
That's how you know the nfl is rigged. Like a couple years ago Phillip rivers gave his dad a new charger for his phone. Freaking darnold bought his grandpa(yes grandpa!) A jet. Josh Allen paid for his dad's Bill the other day. It's so scripted my gawd
It's interesting that they considered his height a disadvantage. Some experts have said that because he's "short" his center of gravity is so low that it makes him even harder to block than a taller guy.
That’s why he is a cheat code. That center of gravity/speed advantage is usually offset by smaller guys being weaker, but he’s stronger than everyone. Plus he is the most technically sound defensive lineman in football. He’s a perfect football player
Literally none of the 4 college teams that offered him a scholarship are FCS teams. They're all FBS teams. Plus, Rutgers and Pitt are in Power 5 conferences.
@@mrnuisance none of them were FCS when he was in college. Akron and Toledo have been in the MAC conference forever which is the same conference that Big Ben came from
He may just need 1 or 2 more seasons for longevity and consistency purpose but I think it's easy to say he's the most dominant DT ever and will most likely be considered the best DT of all time and might even rival LT as the best defender ever.
@@riqueleajimenez1544 ya his performance especially during that last drive was special! He literally took that game into his hands and ended it. The fact that he is that dominant says a lot. When you'd think everyone on that field was giving they're all he was just the best out there
@@daltiejul also ended the game the previous week to get them to the super bowl. We are def witnessing history with possibly the greatest Defender to ever do it
@@AyoJayArr what propels him if possible past LT? I see him already as the #2 all time defensive player in history!?! Its harder and more impressive for him to put up the crazy stats being that he plays in the interior most of the time. I'm thinking one more dominant run such as this one, especially if he wins another one next year! A repeat based off a defensive players dominance would be something crazy! Maybe breaking the season sack record or some other records! It's gonna be hard LT is still on another level but Donald is creeping up on him!
@@daltiejul I don't really mind it, but maybe the fact that LT has been known to -and admitted- to doing cocaine during games. Which can almost seem like a PED. So if AD gets maybe 3 more straight years on all NFL first team (to make it 10 straight), keeps putting up these sack and tackle for loss numbers and doesn't have a drug controversy he might get close.
It is crazy to see a DT play interior like a DE. Typically, when teams build their defensive line, the DEs are the attackers while the DTs use their bodies to close the gaps. In 3-4 schemes, the NT has to be a big man to cover 2 offensive linemen AND any backs trying to squeeze through. In Donald's case, if you are fast enough to get to the ball carrier, size really does not matter (although the Rams do have a traditional NT in Joseph-Day). This Rams defense was built around Donald's unique skill set, and it shows. I do think in future, the trend for DTs will be smaller built guys, but make it up in athletic abilities. Not sure if NTs will follow this trend, but biltz-happy coaches should be licking their chops if this trend picks up across the gridiron world.
I think when Aaron Donald was drafted, Coach Jeff Fisher had a hand in that pick. Fisher is a defensive coach and understands it starts up front in the trenches, and the Rams where in rebuilding stage at that time. Either way what a player. Definitely going to be a HOF legend.
Dominant last season at college, dominant senior bowl, and dominant combine, and people still doubted him? NFL GMs sure can be astoundingly stupid sometimes. Sometimes might even be generous.
His strength, low center of gravity, balance, and quick feet give him a distinct advantage over bigger offensive linemen; not even mentioning how he uses his hands. Over the years there have been players who are literally impossible to block, and he's one of them.
Especially how Randle had to wear a chain around his waist to make weight at tryouts They're perfect examples of "it's not the size of the dog in the fight.. it's the fight in the dog"
For so many positions, it’s always the guys with unconventional builds or play styles to be bringing a new meta to the gridiron. Rob Gronkowski paved the way for tight ends being a much larger part of the receiving core rather than just being an extra blocker 90% of the time. Calvin Johnson showed what stature and weight can do for being able to stop corners from shutting down passes and making interceptions. And Aaron Donald has shown that a defensive tackle can function as more than just a guy to stop the o-line, and actually put pressure on the QB like a defensive end with lightning speed and a smaller, more compact build. This innovation drives the game, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of coaches try and use DTs in like Donald.
@@LIONSFAN4227 no not really but I do agree everyone has the right to have their own opinion on who they think they are the best personally It might be a little bias because I've been a Bucs fan and are glad we have success but Tom
70% double team rate, 44% win rate off blocks last season. That’s 30% more than the next guy who people thought deserved DPOY over Donald. How do you come off the edge and expect to win the DPOY when a guy who plays in the middle puts up almost identical stats while being doubled most in the league? You can’t
For some people being told you can't do something makes you want it more makes you show them more don't ever doubt someone cuz that's their biggest motivation
Fun fact, they showed the wrong Penn Hills high school. The one pictured wasn't open for students until December 2012, he graduated before it began construction. It's way better than the school he went to though.
This guy is worth way more than his weight in gold. What makes him outstanding and peerless is his character, his dedication and relentless nature, and respect for his parents. Proving that being the biggest in size is not all it's cracked up to be.
He had a good Father who instilled a great work ethic in his Son. You Don't achieve anything without putting in the work. Your belief in God and always showing Graditute. I wish all of the Donald family. Good Health, prosperity, and Happiness.
I find it funny that those combine judges are the ones who are saying that Aaron was too short and underweight when both can be overcome with a strong work mentality when they said the same thing about jerry rice.
As a rams fan i remember when my rams had the 13th pick and the bears had the 14th pick. My old high school teacher is a bears fan...man how pissed he was when the rams drafted him......he was like hoping he would fall to the bears
Im a giants fan. My top 10 defense players of all time: 1. Lawrence Taylor (not biased) 2. Ray Lewis 3. Reggie White 4. Aaron Donald 5. Mean Joe Greene 6. Deacon Jones 7. Ed Reed 8. Deion Sanders 9. Ronnie Lott 10. Dick Butkus
Bro lifting in the morning no cap is nice bro it feels a lot nicer as well and for me I feel more pumped instead of the afternoons lifting in the afternoons to Me is like ehh doesn’t feel as nice tbh
Aaron Donald will be the greatest defensive player of all time when he retires and there's not a doubt in my mind when I say that. That is unless injuries tank his career. I felt the same way about JJ Watt.
Bryant Young was a defensive tackle who went to Notre dame. Drafted by the 49ers he was a dominant defensive tackle I don't think he weighed 270 lb. Aaron Donald is worth every penny
Whenever someone says a DT is "the next Aaron Donald" they should be forced (Clockwork Orange style) to watch AD's Pittsburg clips and this one 1000 times.
