Just about every song on this album hits deeply as my husband fell to his own demons September 16th and took his own life. I listen to the album to get through the night. Our kids and I are going to be alright, but the struggles are raw. The saddest thing is how lost and lonely he was, and although we tried we just couldn't make it better for him. I loved him deeply, and I'll watch over this house, but it'll never be the same without him. I pray for Aaron and his family, and his crew, knowing the time away from family, the pressure to perform, and the expectations from everyone has to be a burden no one should carry alone. Thank you for putting your heart into your music. I feel guilty though, being at a concert if it is detrimental to the time you'd rather be with your family. Go home and be with them. They are more important than any one of your fans. We love your music, but wouldn't want you to lose what's the best part of your life.

Thank you all. It's been over a month now. WE are doing better. Some days are still rough. The songs still resonate. We have been held by the hands of God, through family, friends, and even the encouragement and care from those we've never met, like you guys.
I read your comment, and I'm very sorry for your loss too. It's always very hard to lose someone, but this way it hurts even more. I am from Vienna (Austria) and so far away, but to read about things like that always feels bad. I wish all the best to you and your Family and I hope you'll have the power to carry on.
To Aaron Lewis I feel i owe you 20 years of thanks and appreciation if it wasn't for you and Staind i would have not made it past 2005+ (My first album was Break the Cycle) and would have taken my life a few times over but for your lyrics and songs that have got me through some tough times and major depression knowing that someone else has had the pain and anguish you put into your songs. If it wasn't for you i would not be here now to leave you THANKS for the years you and your music has kept me going.....I still have the scars (Inside and out) but thanks to you i am still here. Why is this man's voice so intoxicating? Been a fan of Staind since just before the turn of the century. However, I'm thankful Aaron is still doing his thing even without Staind. Will I be ecstatic if Staind comes out with a new album? You better believe it!!! However, I'd be happy just to hear this man making music for the next 20 years alone. Let's face it, the whole reason we listened to Staind was to hear Aaron sing. Yeah Mike, Jon, and Johnny were phenomenal, but it was about Aaron and his life story in the end...
I LOVE this song! My dad committed suicide almost 2 years ago and I relate this song to him. "My demons, they took control". It helps me make sense of what he did...and why. I always sing, "lost and lonely out here on my own" instead of, "out here on the road"...for him. Amazing voice! Amazing lyrics! I can't wait to see you live, Mr. Aaron Lewis!!!
i did a security job a couple years ago in upstate NY, him.and I had a very long conversation about how country music has gone in the shitter and how we all need to bring back our roots! He's a true American and loves his hunting ;-)
I have below average demons personally, but this one really struck a chord with me nevertheless. You can feel both his pain and his faith in his amazing voice. This dude is a treasure.
I saw him play this last week here in Sacramento and it was intoxicating. His encore was 4-6 acoustic songs and it was just amazing. One of the best voices I've ever heard live. Absolutely perfect.
this man is simply amazing. i've seen him at least 6 times. it is worth every penny to go see this man perform on stage. this song live gives me goosebumps especially that last chorus when he hits those notes.
If you haven't been out to see him live on his country tour. Get your ads out to his show. if seen about 60 bands everything from heavy metal to Alan Jackson. Aaron Lewis was the best by far

...The love of my life and I are still together but yet I miss her. I constantly hurt her in ways it feels I have no control of. All I want to do is make her smile and laugh. She's my everything. It kills me I can't or it feels like I can't give her happiness anymore. Yet she won't leave my side. I just need to know she still loves me. I'm a good hearted man. Faithful, loyal, work hard, but I have demons. Everyone does. They always say if you love someone, set them free. If they come back, it's meant to be. I'd rather die or hurt for the rest of my life so she won't hurt anymore in any way. Damn, this song knows my heart. If anyone else is in my situation, I don't care what others say. Go with your heart. . Love hurts but it also is pure bliss. But the what ifs are the hardest part. What if next week things get back the way they used to be and you're both are on top of the world again?
CMA needs to open just like this. Fade from, and than to black. Just Aaron and his guitar center stage no intro playing this song. He is one of the most well rounded musician's in the industry today. So much country music today is POP crap. Cant even listen to the radio anymore. And considering the other genre he comes from its truly impressive. I believe that if my Grandparents were still here they would enjoy Aaron's country music. (Maybe not Staind so much). Love the stripped down versions of all his songs.

i know alot about demons. it seems like alot of these songs were wrote about my life. i can relate. i have two of his albums. i met him when i was in the military and he is great.
