Finding out that Raphael Bob-Waksberg wanted the show to go on for at least another couple of seasons but Netflix told them to wrap it up with this one - Very Sad Dog :(
Imagine twice being a Side character who always wears red and is a bit of an idiot who grows into a wiser person, playing as side character to a main character who goes through a depressing and self destructive character arc, where the show ends on a slow shot of the main character’s face while playing a song centered around the color blue
@@virgildimitrion7658 After the first two seasons it kind of loses what made it a great satire of sci-fi and just becomes Rick yelling and Morty whimpering. It comes to a point where the best story telling on the show was when Rick wasn't even on screen. Bojack never loses steam and isn't afraid to tackle heavy issues and do experimental episodes.
@@remowhat3879 True. I think Rick and Morty had higher highs, but overall Bojack is a way more well rounded show that tells its stories better, and does the "unlikeable bastard main character" trope in a better, healthier way.
Any of you idiots smashing the like button realize that this line doesn't work with just the one character??? How is it a crossover episode if it's JUST Todd? Morons....
Bojack Horseman is really ahead of its time I’m really sad Netflix decided to cancel this early just because of the union drama :( I know the writers will ends it well I’m just sad it’s this soon ;(
I'm more angry about the cancellation of Tuca and Bertie. As sad as i am that Bojack Horseman is ending, it had a good run, and things seem to evolve I'm sure the serie will have a satisfying conclusion. Tuca & Bertie didn't even reach its potential
This had nothing to do with the animators unionizing, the show wasn't meant to last and Raphael Bob-Waksberg was just waiting for Netflix to tell him to wrap it up, which he did with a longer 6th season. They told him even before there was talks of unionizing.
Guy was in the best drama show of all time, portrayed a character I really started to worry about like you'd only do for a real person... and now he's in one of the most touching AND funny animated shows ever. Well played, Aaron, well played.
My niece watched Bojack Horseman and is now watching Breaking Bad and says all she can hear is Todd. I am just the opposite and have been waiting for Todd to say "bitch" in full Jesse mode!!!
I found Bojack only a year ago after hip surgery. I was out of work for six weeks and watched all five seasons.....twice. I have never been the same. It was such an empathetic portrait of depression and deep sadness. I think I’ll have to watch the entire series again after this season.
I had the exact experience he describes. I watch 10 minutes and was like "what?" And later I really started to watch it and after 2 episodes it was one of the best show I ve ever seen. Go watch it. It s just brilliant
I'm a huge breaking bad fan. And really love Bojack. But today confirms that I didn't know nothing. I didn't know Aaron Paul was the voice actor. He has done an amazing job in this show.
Netflix screwed up, but maybe I should've seen this coming. I mean the summary on google for Bojack Horseman is: A humanoid horse, BoJack Horseman -- lost in a sea of self-loathing and booze -- decides it's time for a comeback. Once the star of a '90s sitcom, in which he was the adoptive father of three orphaned kids (two girls and a boy). The show was the hottest thing around, then suddenly, was canceled.
@@BlackParade01 That's quite a jump and a generic rebuttal, by that logic I'm sure you were good with the final seasons of GoT. Consider the effort that would go into make a series that long, it'd a supernatural amount. If you had an premature season cap, probably wouldn't feel so good.
Obsidian104 It’s probably better that it is ending on season 6 because what would the show even be like if there was another season. Bojack is sober and a professor, Diane is in Chicago with her boyfriend, Todd is a babysitter, Mr. PB is the face of depression, etc. It feels like the end in a satisfying way so far, especially with all the things that are finally gonna come to light. It can’t imagine it continuing after all that comes out.
Obsidian104 I guess but I couldn’t have imagined it going past season 6 just based on the ending of season 5. Because I would want rehab to work for Bojack but I can’t imagine the show without him doing drugs, alcohol, and being dysfunctional
"It's okay to cry in an animated show..." Yep, take Gravity Falls for example. It's a kid's show, but the story is top-notch, until the end of the season that really hits you like a truck full of feels...
What its ending! I just decided to watch the show bc I avoided so watch it for to long. I've been in and out of the hospital bc of my suicide attempts and I never thought I see myself in Bojack and Diane character and to be honest this show portrayed mental illness so well accurate.
Well... the first season was weird. They started the Family Guy-ish and ended in a depression. It is more like the production was not really sure what the series is gonna be like. But damn... these glorious bastards figured it out.
Actually, even that was intentional! From creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg: “I think the pitch for the show, you know, when I went into Netflix, was always that it's going to start like your typical animated comedy, and it's going to feel like, as you're watching it - like, oh, I get this. I get what it is. And over the course of the first season, it was going to reveal itself to the audience as being something more and darker and more interesting. And kind of the goal was, by the time you get to the end of the first season, you're thinking, oh, my God. I care about these characters. When did that happen? They tricked me.”
@turnleftaticeland That’s an interesting idea but it seems to have backfired in the case of Bojack since there are apparently many people who lost interest after the first couple of episodes. Bob-Waksberg has admitted as much himself.
I agree. The pilot and first few episodes are generally pretty weak narratively, character-wise, and worse off, not very funny. The one saving grace of the pilot that I feel was a hook for the type of comedy lying right next to existential angst that the show would ace so perfectly is Bojack's line "I'm responsible for my own happiness? I can't even be responsible for my own breakfast!"
@@turnleftaticeland But the problem is, the first few episodes just aren't very funny and more crass than the show's later episodes/seasons. The best comedy isn't Bojack vomiting cotton candy, it's the animal puns in the background, it's the barely contained existential angst, it's the utter glee in hearing Aaron Paul have fun with a role after suffering for 5 seasons playing Jesse Pinkman.
honestly. im in my mid twenties. ive watched alot of TV, simply because alot of my friends and millennial in general grew up watching alot of tv. Most tv, you forget about , even now. its forgettable . and i walked away from most TV as a grew older simply because i didnt feel captivated by alot of it. this to me has been one of those game changing shows,
The show was legit amazing I watched maybe a couple episodes when it first came out then tried again when it was on like season 5 and I fell in love with the show, the wit the attention to detail, the situational humor, and I can’t beleive I didn’t know it was him doing the voice
This guy is in my two most favourite shows of all time hell yeah, and rami malek is in it too i love him when i started breaking bad i was like hey this sounds like todd from bojack xD
Breaking Bad Bojack horseman West World He landed some best roles in best series's Love this guy. Hope 2 see him having a past cameo role in Better Call Saul
Here a funny fact that I didn’t know when I never watched breaking bad I never knew the actor of Jesse pinkman Aaron paul and he was also in bojack horseman and I never knew he was the voice actor of Todd because I never knew Aaron paul at that time but when I watched breaking bad and look at the cast who play as Jesse pinkman it’s said Aaron paul and look at the movies and tv shows and it’s said bojack horseman on there and it’s said Todd voice by Aaron paul and now I know now 😅
I first knew of Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, but now I can't ever see him outside of Todd Chavez. BoJack became the show that I had to binge every season when it premiered.
I always feel so weird when I watch both Bojack Horseman and Breaking Bad. When I hear Todd, I hear the voice of a crystal meth cook and drug dealer. When I see Jesse Pinkman, in my mind, I'm watching a guy that also voice acts this cartoon character that is a 5 year old stuck in a body of a guy in his late 20s living off a talking horse in a fictional version of Hollywood. Hats off to you Mr. Aaron Paul.
Barley found bojack and binged the whole thing that show is truly amazing. I slept on that for sure but the whole story around it is woah and it’s fucking hilarious. I hope they decide not to cancel it.
The problem with season one is that it took seven episodes to get going. Once the show kicks in its fucking great, but it takes almost 3 and a half hours for anything to start mattering.
