He is doing this to them publicly not to elicit change or to motivate them, but to prepare the media for what he obviously believes is going to be a bad year. He doesn't care about his guys, he cares about what the media is going to say about him in 6-8 weeks when they've lost 4 straight and he doesn't look good. He's trying to frame the narrative now. Brady never did that. He worked with his guys. No matter who they gave him... just another example of the vast, immeasurable difference in the leadership intangible that separates Brady from every other "talented" quarterback... it's about winning not self imagine... well said Mr. Sharpe

Its also funny how skip goes all out criticizing Aron on accountability and leadership but he flips the script when it comes to KD . Just goes to show how biased he is .
That story Shannon shared about restarting practice was about the mindset of a champion. Most will walk away and think it's about perfection, but the true meaning is being reliable and focus every moment of practice that will transcends during gameday. A bad practice = A bad team.
Yeah, but if Shannon was going to share a story, shouldn't he have shared one where the the Broncos were already champions? Skip asked him if they were SB champions at the time that Mike would stop practice and Shannon said yes. Then he proceeded to tell a story from October of 97 when the Broncos hadn't even won a SB yet. They didn't win a SB until January of 98. So, Shannon should've given an example from 98.
@@zachwhitlow4 No it doesn't. Because there are plenty of coaches who utilized similar strategies and it still led them to failure. Then there are plenty of coaches who were not as diligent and it led them to success.
I've coached baseball for 15 years. I always tell my players: you play like you practice. If you're sloppy in practice, if you're lazy in practice, if you nonchalant a grounder in practice, if you don't hustle going down to first in practice ... you will do the exact same thing during a game. Practice build muscle memory but it also build "will memory". You have to train yourself to make plays, but you also have to train yourself to WANT to make a great play every time. You've got to want the ball on every single pitch.

Why receivers were dropping the ball in the first preseason game and at practice. He’s not throwing anyone under the bus he’s just calling them out on their BS, sometimes public shaming works better than private because you might not take that person serious in private that’s why sometimes it Hass to come out in the public eye.
These young WRs already feel a ton of pressure simply based on the fact that they're playing with AR and now he just throws them under the bus just like that. How's this supposed to help them?
I love the packers. I’m a die hard packer fan but honestly even though I realize how extraordinary great Aaron Rodgers is I am so over his perfectionism and lack of leadership. I believe that this needs to be his last season in Green Bay and I believe that everyone should thank him but it’s time.
Perfectionism isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Many of the greatest athletes are perfectionists, it’s a big part of why they became great. You can hold people to a high standard without doing it publicly. That’s his problem.
Yeah I hear ya bro, been a Packers fan for 35 years. But since the oilers moved to my state I've been waiting for a reason to make the home team my new team. Didn't think I'd ever see the day that I'd buy Titans gear. But not only have the qb lost my respect but an organization with two back to back hof qbs who won't go all in to win have finally pushed me away.
We all called it as soon as he made it impossible for the packers to keep davante Adams. He was gonna complain about his wide receivers and make them the scapegoats for why he isn't as good without davante. he's a clown. You're getting paid 50 mil a year, you are paid that much because you are supposed to elevate the offense. For you to be getting paid THAT much, you should be the elite quarterback that can produce with average to below average receivers. You might not be able to throw 50 tds but you should be able to do >32 tds and
yet he withers at any criticism sent his way maybe he should stop falling apart in the post season. when its all said and done, he'll just be an all time great regular season qb
I’ll let it be known I’m a packers fan and our relationship with rodgers is like that of family. You love em but damn they’re annoying sometimes. This dude is a piece of work. He’s seeing the writing on the wall. Everyone knows he’s not throwing the ball if the receiver has less than a 50% chance of catching it. He won’t risk his stats to give the guys a chance. Which is fine if this were college. We have lost because of this face for the last 3 years.
Rodgers dependency on Adams cost the packers the playoff game vs SF last year it had nothing to do with the 49ers offense. They blanketed Adams and Rodgers couldn't cope and got them a total of 13 points if I remember correctly. That's not good enough when he had home field and a bye. Rodgers is overrated and Shannon has been the biggest fanboy. How Aaron has fooled people into 2 straight MVPs while not having better numbers than Mahomes.
Funny how he’s mentioned before that at the draft he thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread and needed to eat some humble pie. Years later, here we are again. Listening to kaaron Rodgers. Doesn’t matter how many games or rings he wins, talking like he does will make sure he never gets the one thing that other qbs got like breeze manning Brady Montana etc got and that’s respect.
bro that Aaron Rodgers’ line is so arrogant and legendary 🤣 “that was my best throw of the day” on a play that resulted in an incompletion 😂😂😂😂 i love it
Compare Rodgers and the way he "set expectations" with his new WRs to the way Brady set expectations with Russell Gage this offseason. That tells you all you need to know about these 2 and why they are not comparable in any way.
ARod has gotten a lot of WR paid and gotten a lot of WR to the pro bowl. He didn't call no names. He just said he go out there and drop passes, someone else will step up and catch it. This isn't even a story. He publicly telling his WRs to make the best of their opportunities. Damn.. the world has gotten so soft.
He might be a better thrower of the ball than Farve (minus the arm strength, Aaoron's is strong but Farve probably had the strongest arm ever) but he will never truly replace him because he doesn't have a heart of a lion like Farve
So playing through a broken collarbone doesn't count? Or how about limping around on a bum leg during a game against a division rival and leading them back from 20 points down in the 4th quarter? Oh yeah I guess you also skimmed on the bum toe he played on last year?

This is the reason the 49ers took Alex Smith #1 overall. Now clearly they made the wrong pick because Rodgers is a HOFer but Alex had much better character and leadership.
@@TeranIcer People need to give these Coaches the same energy when they publicly critique someone. The packers gave Rodgers more power than the coach I don't have a problem with it unless it divide the teams. it's Aarons fault the WR's are dropping passes?!! Skip talks just to talk. Worry about Tom's private life is collapsing and how will that impact the season?
Aaron Rodgers isn't a beloved leader in the locker room like tom brady or Peyton manning or Brett Favre His teammates respect him and know what he means to their team and franchise but they don't love playing for him. Too many players hall of fame or players that played with a rod have critizied his attitude and leadership.
Please show me the hall of Fame players he played with that criticized him? There have only been two guys and neither of them were hall of famers. Meanwhile he's got a bunch of players past and present that stick up for him and his leadership
So the media can call out players publicly but a player has to call out another player privately. I thought we were living in the public eye 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
If TB12 said that, Skip would be praising him for lighting a fire under his receivers to get them playing better. But because it's AR12, it's a horrible thing to do... SMH
I think Aaron Rodgers was defending Jordan love when the receivers had drops that caused interceptions during the 49ers game. And Aaron Rodgers says this every year, he’s right. 😂 If people are dropping balls they need to get it together
He wasn't, this is almost a yearly thing pre season training camp regular season post season, someone always is doing something wrong but it's mysteriously never Aaron's fault.
@@vaikiam6431 You don't watch press conferences do you? I don't blame you, especially if you're not a Packers fan. But he most certainly has cast blame on himself, countless times. The narrative that Aaron never takes blame for anything is so overblown and trite.
Exactly. These "rookies" have been playing football their whole life and most likely the best players on every team they've ever played for but now they're in the big league getting the big bucks. Is he supposed to lie for grown men that make millions playing a game? I would be thanking him for waking me up and letting me know how things work around here like a true leader instead of letting me fall under the "bus" myself.
Rodger is always weak, lack of leadership, lack of being a real winner. SInce thatfinal minutes against Brady's Tampa, when is chicken out, I realized he is a just an ordinary player
I wouldn’t be surprised if he retired after this year. His contract is basically set up as a bunch of one year deals. He can get 50 million this season and leave LaFleur with Jordan Love
I don’t really understand why Aaron Rodgers is looked at so highly. He’s only won a single Super Bowl, and has a lot of stats. I would much rather have a quarterback that can actually get me deep into the playoffs and win. I don’t need Favre 2.0.
Aaron Rodgers is way smarter than Both of You! What he does most of the time is very calculated. There was way too much hype about the young receivers. He just wanted to calm the waters, and get the young guys to stop patting themselves on the back. Bayliss has to do a player and character assasination, because that's what he does if someone challenges his idea of who's the GOAT.
Peyton literally chewed out Jeff Saturday while mic’d up. Don’t be soft. He didn’t individually call anyone out. If these comments get you rattled and affect your play you don’t belong in the league
Are we at that point in time where people can’t be held accountable for mistakes?? Did you see that play with Doubs in the joint practice? Doubs had a step on the defender and it hit his hands and he dropped it. Call him out on it. Doubs has grown up catching passes. He went for 1100 yards and 11 TDs in college the year before and everyone is acting like he’s coming in off the streets. If you’re a WR. And the ball hits you right in the hands. CATCH IT. That’s your job. That’s what you’ve been doing your whole life. Don’t baby him and say it’s alright you’ll get them next time. Has that ever worked from a leadership stand point? The way is see it. Is Call people out on their mistakes so they quit making them and praise their strengths and stuff they do well so they keep doing things they’re good at. People are too soft nowadays. Hold people to the highest standard if you see the potential in them so that their focus is on reaching that potential.
Calling people out is fine but do it to their face, not in front of the media where it becomes a big story. That’s the quickest way to destroy someone’s (especially a rookie) confidence. A leader needs to be direct and honest but should never put their people down in public.
@@SaltyLemonChops He most likely did call them out in a meeting. But he probably also went to the media because it’s going to get out into the media anyway. So why not get a head of it and say it publicly so the media can’t spin your words and make it worse?

If being told that you have to be consistent and catch passes to stay in the league and see the field is too harsh, then I don't know what to say. He's allowed to praise his young WRs to the media, but he can't tell them that they have to be consistent. These comments are mellow, it isn't even harsh to begin with. He defends Jordan Love with mental mistakes from the young WRs, wants the best out of his teammates, that's a problem.
Think it’s less about him saying they have to be consistent and more about him telling the media they’ve been inconsistent. The issue is he could tell them all day to be consistent and he’d be a great leader for it. Publicly announcing rookies and young guys are making mistakes in their first training camp is a little different.
How is it hard for you guys to understand there is a difference between putting someone on blast in the media versus yelling at them in camp/practice? Swear to god man football fans have the IQ of a squirrel
I'm from Aaron Rodgers home town of Chico California ,all I'm going to say is Shannon and Skip are right on Point b t w I absolutely love Shannon he's a all pro human being
If you are a WR that wants to be an all time great and are bothered by these comments then you probably too soft to be great. Put your big boy pants on and DEAL with it.
I agree that he didn’t have to say it but at the end of the day I think today’s media is more evasive to its players because at the end of the day what was he supposed to say outside of no comment? And even that would’ve raise more questions and then people would still question his leader ship so either way regardless of whatever answer you gave it would’ve came off wrong because it’s Aaron Rodgers. If he blamed himself, the media would’ve construed that as he’s no good anymore he can’t play, but because he went the other way, now he’s looked at as a bad leader. He could’ve easily said everything behind closed doors before the media session but because the media doesn’t know, they think he didn’t ask in the first place. That’s the coaches responsibility. The whole point having coaches for every position is to coach these guys. Not everyone is here to help you to include a quarterback.
