Never strike two harden surfaces ( Hammers) together. Will damage both surfaces of both hammer. Use a piece of mild steel as the drift and hit it with the hammer.
2 inch chop the hole thing should be a blade thickness apart fron existing but the metal , tack , and force into shape or tap and tack it , just have to watch the glass lines in the glass rebates are straight I needed to use a block of wood and beat the rebate to straight or the glass won’t fit , my car only had two door hinges yours is three
