To 51:12 👈 To the reference of Ho Jamalo is based on a folk telling ( there are multiple versions) So this one (from Pakistan today) A story of Jamal Sheedi or Jamalo Sheedi, was born in Sukkur during the colonial rule of the British East India Company. At some point, he was sentenced to hanging by a company officer, and was held in a jail near what was then the newly constructed Sukkur Bridge. When completed in 1889, the bridge was the largest cantilever bridge in the world. It had two 310 feet each cantilevers, with a suspended span of 200 ft in the middle. When the East India Company announced a prize for anyone willing to test drive a train across the bridge, Jamalo was the only one to volunteer. His only condition was that he be completely pardoned when the job was done. As Jamalo took the train across the bridge, there is rumoured to have been some nervy scenes, with the bridge sinking by nearly 4.5 inches when the train was near the midpoint of its course. Despite what must at the time have seemed like certain disaster, the bridge somehow managed to settle at the 4.5 inch dip and Jamalo made his way across. It is said that Jamalo’s wife was so relieved at his safe return, it is said that Jamalo’s wife composed the ‘Ho Jamalo’ song...

I think the peacock that’s coming through the entrance and drinking water is a symbol of Marvee coming. The lady whose welcome the concept is based on.

The story is based on a folktale from Sindh, Pakistan, called "Umar Marvi." It revolves around a village girl named Marvi, belonging to the Phanwar tribe, who resists the advances of a powerful king named Umar and the allure of living in the palace as his queen. Instead, she chooses to remain in her simple rural environment, staying true to her village. King Umar was deeply in love with Marvi due to her exceptional beauty. However, he forcefully took her and desired to marry her. He imprisoned her in his castle called Umerkot in Sindh. Marvi, being a woman of great integrity and honor, refused the king's offer, even though he promised to grant her every desire. She steadfastly denied everything and even went on a hunger strike while locked up. She declared that she would rather die than be disloyal. Ultimately, the king had to give in to her unwavering loyalty. He released her and respectfully sent her back to her village, where she was hailed as a heroine. This remarkable story is depicted in the song "Aayi Aayi," where Marvi finally enjoys a simple meal at home. The peacock in the song symbolizes this act, while the dolphins represent the majestic Indus River (Sindh).

As a sindhi from Sukkur Sindh, never in my wildest dreams I had pictured Sindhi song with such a sick banger beat that too with rap mix with folk on one of the biggest global platform to ever exist that is Coke Studio. I feel so proud to see my culture getting the limelight and going mainstram that was always due because Sindh is rich in tradition and true Indus Valley in a sense, mohenjo daro is hour an hour drive away from my city. Xulfi knows how to hit our nerves and the way he owns every culture of Pakistan with pride, that can be seen in the magicw journey too. Amazing reaction Jyoti and Shrutz! Soo happy to see your reaction to my true sindhi culture ❤🇵🇰 Lots of love!❤

First things first, it is absolutely refreshing to see you together after 2 yrs reviewing CS-15, yeahyyyy!! You guys are like apple pie and ice cream, together your reaction/review is at a different level altogether. The energy, bubbliness, humour and perspectives of Schrutz and your on-point, passionate, expressive and detailed reaction full of emotion is second to none. 🥰 The depth of your review and the subtle things you guys pick up and how you break apart each element reminds me of two scientists in a laboratory splitting atoms! It's just top-notch how you unpack layer after layer, simply brilliant. You guys have given a whole new meaning to reaction/review videos! So, hand on heart, thank you! Since almost everything has already been covered, the only point I wanted to highlight was about the fish being painted on the wall. As you may already know, it was a dolphin. Freshwater dolphins are home to River Indus, which runs through Sindh and ends in the Arabian Sea. So everything you see is relevant and authentic. Can't wait for the BTS now...make sure you have a few tissues.

This song is in Sindhi language. This song celebrates the arrival of young girl Marvi in the Thar Village who was abducted by the King Umar of that time. Due to resistance of Marvi, he released her after few years. In this song, Peacock represents Marvi. Coke Studio Pakistan isn't just music; it's a bridge. It lifts hidden gems from dusty streets, voices carrying stories whispered for generations. This season, they weave a Sindhi folktale, painting the canvas of Sindh with music and language. It's a celebration of heritage, a melody that awakens the soul of a culture.

The song is based on folk love story and resilience to stand against a powerfull ruller, being a very bewutiful yet an average women or girl Mari/Marvi against the the Ruller of umerKot/Amerkot and stood firmly on her grounds so the ruller had no choic but to free her from his castle... The peacock used as symble of her return from that castle.

The patchwork/Ralli, the blind Dolphin of the Indus River, the Peacock and the symbolism of sipping water at the end, the rangoli, the gorgeous costumes and jewelry of the Thar women…ufff! Finally the richness of the culture and people of Sindh get a platform to project themselves to the world. Who better than Zulfi to form the bridge! Bravo!! This song is in SINDHI language & represents Sindhi culture in Pakistan, which is similar to cultures prevail in Rajasthan (Jodhpur & Jaisalmeer) and Kutchh Bhuj (Gujrat), India. And, local people in those areas still speak Sindhi and Marvari. Historically, Jaisalmeer, Jodhpur, and Kutch Bhuj always remained part of different dynasties of Sindh. Ajay Jadeja, an Indian Crickter, is a Sindhi, from Kutchh Bhuj (India), and Jadeja is a sub-caste Jaam Samoo Tribe, who ruled over Sindh (1335 - 1520 AD), including Gujarat, some parts of Rajasthan (mainly Jodhpur & Jaisalmeer), Las Bela part of Balochitan (Pakistan) and parts of Punjab (Bahawal pur, Dera Gazi Khan and Multan). Kings Jaam Samoo tribe, were originally (Rajput Hindus, like Soomra kings of Sindh) followers of Lord Krishna, but over the years, they later became Muslims.

It's so beautiful and poetic that they used the beautiful peacock (the national bird of Pakistan which is commonly found in forests of Sindh) to symbolize the arrival of Marvi and ending her hunger strike. Marvi was kidnapped by the king of that area but she remained true to her love and went on hunger strike. The king gave up and brought her back to her village. The whole village is wecloming her and celebrating her strength, resilience, and loyalty to her love in this song.

Asslam o alaikum, let help you to understand this. Basically, is a folktale from Sindh Pakistan (Umar Marvi), about a village girl of phanwar tribe(Marvi), who resists the overtures of a powerful King Umar and the temptation to live in the palace as a queen, but she preferring to be in a simple rural environment with her own village.the king Umar was in love with marvi and she was very beautiful. The king umar of that time forcefully took her and wanted to marry her. He locked her in his castle of (Umerkot) in sindh. Mari was so faithful and a woman of honor, that she didn't accept the king's offer. He promised to give her all the assets she wanted. Mari never agreed and denied everything. Throughout this period she did not eat anything and went on a hunger strike where she was locked up. She said I would rather die than be disloyal. Ultimately king had to surrender. He released her and respectfully sent her back to her village where she was welcomed as a heroine.mentioned in song(Aayi Aayi) finally, she ate a simple meal at home. That act is beautifully symbolized by the peacock in this song. AND Dolphins represent river indus (sindu) and also peacocks represents thar

Seeing genuine artists, writers, and creators expanding their reach to wider audiences while championing their indigenous heritage, culture, and art is incredibly fulfilling. Nauman Ali Rajer is undeniably one of these trailblazers. No amount of suppression, monopoly, or hurdles can halt the inevitable rise of real talent. Centuries-old Sindhi art, literature, and culture have often been overlooked due to negligence, lobby politics, lack of policy implementation, transparency issues, and corruption. Despite these challenges, many young artists & creators have proven their worth and potential against all odds. I'm genuinely delighted to hear the new sindhi song, 'Aayi Aayi' (Here she comes, Maruee’s welcome), featuring Noman Ali Rajer, Babar Mangi, chung player Lutfali, Marvi, and Saiban, all deeply rooted in Sindhi culture. While 'Ho Jamalo,' a folk song celebrating men, has long been celebrated in Sindh, there hasn't been a song celebrating women until 'Aayi Aayi,' which depicts a celebration of Marui’s resilience and serves as a courageous anthem for women, inspired by the folk tale of Umer Marvi. Nauman Ali Rajer, Lead Vocalist at Nafs Band, Singer, Songwriter, & composer, and young Sindhi rapper Babar Mangi’s journey in music hasn't been easy, akin to many other deserving young writers, creators, and innovators. I've known Nauman and Babar for years, closely following their musical journey. Both featured singers in the new song have independently honed their craft for 8 to 10 years, producing exceptional singles. Nauman's folk-centric genre, often revolving around Shah Latif's poetry, notably revitalizes traditional 'Wai' in contemporary music. Despite his struggles, Nauman has consistently supported genuine art promotion activities, participating in numerous art-related initiatives in Sindh, such as the Thar Art Festival in Mithi and the 'Voices of Youth' event in Hyderabad, and joining Roshni Dialogues for a talk on 'Sur Sasui'. Nonetheless, his hard work hasn't received the appreciation it deserves in Sindh, hindering wider recognition. While some literature festivals have considered his talent upon request, the Sindhi industry has unfortunately overlooked his potential. Those who are criticizing this new song for the lack of creativity and lyrics must try to think for a minute about all those sarkari-sponsored remixes, auto-tunes, music festivals, parchis and ministers' poetry being sung-all funded by the taxpayer’s money. Trillions of rupees have been spent in the last 15 years in the name of promoting literature, art, music, and culture, but has there been any progress, results? Any accountability? Despite my personal ideological differences with certain policies with the brand who produced song, the lack of representation of Sindhi music and creators in previous seasons of Coke Studio, and the questionable actions of corporations like Coca-Cola, including their stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict and their share in entrepreneurial capitalism, I still want to highlight and celebrate the potential of young artists like Nauman, babar and others. What indigenous artists lack is the due financial and institutional support needed to refine and showcase their arts. The politicization and corruption within Sindh's cultural and arts scene pose significant obstacles for genuine indigenous artists. Urgent action is needed to prioritize the encouragement and Meritorious support of young talents in Sindh. There's much to learn from platforms like Coke Studio. If public funds are transparently allocated and directed towards deserving individuals based on merit, through initiatives aimed at the masses, Sindhi culture and heritage have the potential to make significant contributions on the global stage, continuing its legacy of rich cultural and literary heritage. It's time to champion genuine, hardworking artists, writers, and creators. To all struggling young artists across various art forms, I urge young people to reclaim your spaces yourself. There are no saviours in this cruel and unfair world;. Refuse, Resist, Reclaim. #AayiAayi #CokeStudio15 #CokeStudioPakistan #SoundOfTheNation #sindh #sindhiculture #sindhimusic #sindhilanguage #youngartists

We're all same like all humans. But people of sub continent are literally the same. You noticed how much commonality we've in culture , tradition, color, language, thoughts and what not! Gosh, you can divide countries but you can't divide the ingredients which makes us same. Omg, despite having so much hatred, rage, bias, animosity and mistrust on the state level, people can relate to each other, find similarities, love and conactedness. This is evidence that majority of the people not buying state's narrative. My paternal grandma is from the " Katch Gujrat". Her family came here few years before partition. I used to be grandma's boy. She used to tell us stories of her days of childhood in Gujrat. She missed her birth place till her death - she died in 1996. She used to hum the "Katchi" folksongs. And I noticed so many times, she couldn't stop her tears. Borders of the Gujrat and the Sindh meet each other. Particularly grandma's hometown and my birthplace - Badin - is just on an arm's length. You both keep making wonderful videos. Love ❤

This song is based on the folk story of Marvi and Umar. Umar was a king and he was in love with Marvi and kidnapped her and imprisoned her. But she didn't accept him and denied all his love, wealth and luxuries. Therefore, she was released and when she reached to her people, they welcomed her with praise.

Umar Marvi (or Marui; Sindhi:عمر مارئي‎) is a folktale from Sindh, Pakistan about a village girl Marvi, who resists the overtures of a powerful King and the temptation to live in the palace as a queen, preferring to be in a simple rural environment with her own village folk.

Hey I'm from Karachi your reaction video is so good and the way you guys expressing your feelings and discussed each part of song this makes the video more beautiful and I wanna add something about this song that they showed many cultures and traditions of Sindh but specifically they represented our Thar region same is the reason that this video had so much similarities with Rajasthan and Gujrat and I must say that elegance royalty and purity present in our sub-continent's culture has no competition and in last this song was based on Omer Marvi's story which was the love story of Sindh so hope you will react on magical journey of this song so you'll get to know whole story behind it,THANKS.

When I finally watched the songs, I found myself eagerly waiting for your reaction because watching with you both doubles the enjoyment of Coke Studio. When I listen alone, I can't pick up on all the minor details, but when I'm with you guys, I can enjoy the songs even more. Both of you are highly respected to me, and I pray that Allah keeps you both happy always.
