Taken from Reddit and the forums regarding the horse: "For context with the novel, Dilu is Liu Bei's horse that saves him by jumping across a river while being chased. Later, during his invasion of Yi province Liu Bei gives the horse to Pang Tong, who is then targeted and killed during an ambush. The enemy believed the man riding the white horse was Liu Bei and riddled him with arrows." Ironic that you sold it to him lol

I dont even own this game (because of my low specs laptop),and yet i enjoy your playthrough love the fact that you actually listen to the comments and implements that on the playthrough so we the viewers actually feels like we had a part of this gameplay too! 'do keep them coming' haha
You should continue hitting the Han Empire with Sun Ce army while going West by the river, and if you are lucky you may be able to meet Ma Teng who is at war with Liu Bei & Yuan Shao too (i think?), so he would be a nice candidate to ally with (and he loves war too).
On the business of the cursed horse, I love that you can essentially say, "I won't ride it, but what we CAN do is see if we can get somebody else to ride it!"
A man that looks at the comments section. Feels good man. Keep it up and of course if you feel different on the feedback you could do different. By just reading and acknowlege them is already great from you.
I am glad you listened Lionheart. You have done an excellent job, keep it up! I would say peace out with as much warlords in the North as possible. Yes they might develop a network of vassals to threaten you. but when you conquer the South, you will have many resources to draw upon. Also I would say have an army up there and invest in defenses just in case.
Send a spy to Dong Min and have him lower Lu Bu's satisfaction until he defects. I stole him this way in my game, so it can be done. Unless you're looking forward to fighting him.
Blue line on the Reform Tree is mostly for the trade but it unlocks the buildings to boost your commerce. The purple actually have some reforms to boost commerce right away.
im just waiting for Sun Ren >< But lionheart you should check the character pool if there is Zhang Yan or Zheng Jiang because in my Gongsun Zan campaign i found that i could recruit Zheng Jiang at turn 23, i was so happy and suprise xD
Don't stretch too far North IMO and focus on rounding back south to complete Jianye and any other territory south of the Yangtze, and see if you can't finally get Sun Ce and Zhou Yu's wives :p
Lionheart, I noticed when you were hovering over Sun Ce that the harmony was "out of whack" so to speak, because Sun Ce does not get along well with the middle guy. I could have sworn they got along when you first put them together, so it might be worth checking to see what might be going on between the two or if certain game mechanics changed their harmony together.
Comments: get rid of the cursed horse _The last horse you'll ever want._ Lionheart: "He is keen on this horse. You have this wonderful horse! Please ride it personally." Trades cursed horse to Liu Bei. Me: laughing like crazy.
Just so you know that horse you have Liu bei was his horse in the story. The horse that saved him multiple times in battle and from assassination attempts. Way to go chap you just helped him out. Also it's a trait that makes them ask for independence, it even warns you if you read the upper part if it will start a civil war or not if you grant it
So Dilu (Hex Mark) actually was Liu Beis horse. It was a horse known for its riders dying in battle. However, while Liu Bei had it, it saved his life. So its funny you gave it to him lol
rewatching this walkthrough and thinking its a shame that nearly a year later, we can definitely say Dilu had zero negative effects on the rider in TK all along, and the "curse" is just to add a bit of story behind the horse, but nothing more than that lol
Y’all too paranoid about every character being a spy 🕵🏾♂️ hire any one and send characters on assignment on counter espionage to find who among them is a spy
The Sea Dragon of Korea 11...... The fort was slowly being built back up and the bodies burned in mass graves nearby but Sun Ce and Sin Sun-Ki were currently at the fort watching this all go down as they were currently discussing what Sun Ce was gonna do. They knew the enemy would be back and without another good defense set up, the province would fall again. “I was told to build the garrison here up to an appropriate strength, or as good as militia can be, but I cannot support an attack against the Yellow Turbans to our north.” Said Sin. “It would leave this place defenseless again.” “But we cannot send out an offensive attack without your men, even if you number only 400.” Said Sun. “My men are not true warriors, I have made them a hit and run unit with garrison capabilities... we cannot win a straight up fight.” Said Sin. “We won last night because their commander was slain and they routed at his death.” Sun Ce sighed, frustrated that he couldn’t go north yet when then a messenger walked in and bowed. “Sun Ce, you gather wishes you to head along the Yangtze River and head north to the territories there.” Said the messenger. Sun Ce stood up, about to launch into a bit of a frustrated rant, when he then paused and looked to Sin. Sin looked to him and said, “I will write a message to Admiral So to have you escorted by his ships that way. He is a capable commander.” “Very Well then.. I head northward along the Yangtze River. Tell my father I will head there soon.” Said Sun Ce. Sin watched the militia slowly training under his warriors tuition as they were practicing fighting with swords and their polearms. He walked around them as he watched them do their training but he needed to get them motivated. Simply going through the motions wouldn’t be enough for the days to come. And then he was reminded of a old song he once heard the Chinese use for training and so as he approached the troops, he said to them, “You all know the consequences of losing a battle here?” They all nodded for the most part and then he said to them, “Well then.” “Let’s get down to business!” They all suddenly seemed surprised but then seemed to get energy from it. “To defeat... the Hans!” He began to pace before them. “Did they send me daughters... when I asked, for sons?” “Your the saddest bunch I ever met... but you can bet before we’re through!” “But I can make a man out of you!” Shouted someone and Sin got straight in their face as he said, “Mister I’ll make a man out of you!”
Good thing to remeber with Administrators, you can give them a full retinue thn disband them, and those units will be in the garrison of the Admins City.
I say continue the conquest with Sun Gian as soon as possible and afterwards attack the Han empire settlements in your south. Move Sun Quan against Han settlements in the south as you attack Liu Biao with Sun Ce. Liu Biao and Yuan Shu are potent enemies, as they can vassalise a lot of minor factions to create a network of allies- vassals to attack your territory. Afterwards, your can reinforce your economy before switching your attention to three other of your main enemiesQ Liu Bei, Yuan Shao and Cao Cao- Dong Ming.
You might as well peace out with Yuan Shu for the time being. One fewer set of armies to deal with; though with his attitude towards you I'm guessing that peace won't last that long.
You actually wouldn't have lost trustworthiness if you had attacked the Han Dynasty while still having treaties with Liu Bei. This is actually an unfortunate loop hole in this game's diplomacy system; Attacking someone's vassal does not count as attacking them, as far as treaty-breaking penalties go. As a player you can sort of abuse this by attacking someone's vassal in order to end up at war with the vassal's overlord, without directly having to break your treaties. The downside is that the AI can (and WILL) do the same thing to you. I've had it happen many times where an AI I was trading with, or had a recent peace treaty with, or even had a non-aggression pact with would attack one of my vassals, at which point you can either join your vassal in the war (in which case you lose trustworthiness because the game counts it as YOU declaring war on THEM, instead of vice versa), or you can choose to abandon your vassal (in which case you lose trustworthiness for not upholding your obligation as their master) so it's a REALLY shitty situation to be put in. Also, for what it's worth, I've had Cao Cao riding the "unlucky" horse Dilu for basically my entire campaign, and never got any kind of unlucky events related to it whatsoever. That could just be circumstantial evidence, it's possible that there are some events and I haven't seen them yet, but it certainly didn't seem like it to me. And as far as the Romance story goes, the story of Dilu, or Hex Mark, is that he was considered to be a very unlucky horse, until he came into the possession of Liu Bei, who not only didn't have any bad luck while riding him, but was actually saved from certain death on several occasions thanks to his horse. He did lend it to one of his top advisors, Pang Tong, only for Pang Tong to get killed in an ambush almost immediately, so there's definitely still kind of a "curse" to riding the horse, but from what I've seen so far that hasn't been translated into the game.
@@lionheartx10 Wow, that's really interesting, because I know for a fact that I've used the "Declare war on their vassals instead" loophole before and it definitely works. Assuming you didn't also have some treaties with the Han directly, then maybe it's possible that the Han Empire works differently from all other vassals in this regard. Either that, or maybe they fixed the loophole in the beta patch, since I haven't installed that yet, but I haven't seen anyone bring that up anywhere if they had.
Having finished a Sun Jian Campaign, I would not recommend colonization of the southlands, its very expensive and not cost efective at all. On one hand you need to divert funds to develop it, while at the same time the size of your empire increases global corruption debuffs (which speaking of, you should really start focusing on those there is one a purple and one yellow line building). The best alternative is to get a vassal in the vecinity to colonize (AI, except the Han, tends to do this) or cede it after colonization meaning its up to them to develop and you get the vassal income without any corruption increase.
I wouldn’t bother leaving out with either faction. Gongsun Zan is so far north that war with him has no negative consequences while making Zheng Jiang like you a little more. As for Yuan Shu, he’s in that military alliance with Liu Bei so peacing out with him could result in you two still being at war but with you sporting a fresh reliability hit from him disregarding your peace treaty.
You weren't misreading, there is a bug (or purpusefully misleading indicator) where sometimes characters which the game tells you are weaker will wreck you, or where you will beat characters the game tells you are far superior
Does untrustworthy decay after a while? I got a untrustworthy to treacherous rating like like 40 turns back cuz I broke a coalition to form an alliance...but I'm still treacherous. What can I do to get back trustworthy rating?
I am very late in the game and have just dealt the deciding blow to the Kingdom of Shu. Wu has been able to grow while me and Shu warred. Now I am looking down the very terrifying Wu Kingdom that I have to deal with.
Here’s a few idea you can use if you want. First an idea you can use is something you’ve already done in your Tyrant walkthrough, you could sack nearby settlements in order to get the funds to colonize areas you need. Another idea you can use is trade some settlements you have north of the river to your ally the bandit queen if she’s really pushed to the limit. By trading the territory you get to keep your ally, trade, have some buffering enemy forces up north, and you would have to worry about it. Plus you can get more funds that way as well in the deal. I would have suggested for the bandit king cause he look desperate for a settlement but he’s kinda gone. By the way what happens to the character of the faction goes but not him. Is it possible he could be hired? Well hear some idea you can use hope you do well, can’t wait for the next post.
The horse wasn't cursed. It was a thing the developers put in to make players paranoid about it. There are no actual events in game that cause the rider of the horse to die. It's purely the developers just laughing at people's paranoia.
Not sure if it is a same for all factions but building food traders is a bad idea. You will have more food if you get rid of them and can trade food for much much more with those with poor food and your income will go way up.
I know i am so far behind on this, but i only just now got Sun Jian and Sun Ce's death events to pop up AND the twin brides to Sun Ce and Zhou Yu. Don't know if its with the latest patch, but i only got them to pop when i gave up the seal.. Which i think is not what happens? Idk. But I've played six Sun Jian Playthroughs and only gotten those events to pop on the latest two I've started since this weekend
@@lionheartx10 bit of a bummer as it gives you a choice of whether you want some events to happen. Or at least an option to have it so you could get the actual rosters from say Dynasty Warriors and the Romance. Like I've seen plenty of people who play as say Coa Coa and only get his cousins as portriat characters with the rest being generic 😪 kinda deterred me a bit which is sad cause i love Three Kingdoms otherwise
Zheng bao isn’t a spy but a very good chap that can bring in a legendary character later on. A youtuber that played Liu bei had a character that wanted independence but later got the second best strategist in the game
Consider completing that comandery south of the river, han still controls the salt mine. And there is something to be said about your infantry formations later in the battle take them out of turtle/shield wall since they are so slow.
I don't think the Han can send out spies, but some generals have traits that increases them wanting independance as an administrator. And if you attack the city the emperor is in you take over the vassal automaticly. (Also the council can give you tasks to be at war/peace/alliance/trade with someone) edit again as i watch the video - Sentinels usually beat most other generals in a duel (at higher levels)
You know, if you want to remove someone from your court, you don't actually have to banish them and take the satisfaction penalty. You can just remove them from their office and use the "Release from Service" button further down, which also removes them from your faction but doesn't cause any penalties. The only benefit to banishing them instead is that you get to confiscate their money, but they usually don't have that much anyway to really make the satisfaction penalty worthwhile.
With all the extra satisfaction I get from Heroism I think its worth going for banishment for the extra cash as -5 satisfaction wont affect me when I'm getting +20 from heroism :)
@@lionheartx10 That's fair, I forgot heroism factors into it. Confiscating the dude's 800 gold probably won't make much difference either way, but it's a healthy enough sum in the early stage of the campaign, so I see where you're coming from.
btw lionheart you may wana be extra carefull with the trustworthiness as i am not sure if it goes away over time one of my saves has the penalty still many turns after i gained it. am not sure it plays in a ton but some faction leaders tend to be more hostile to you if your untrustworthy.
Based on my opinion, banners at that time represents our flags in our time. It was a moral booster and also an honor to hold which made the man holding it braver.
I don’t remember which video you traded the Dilu horse to Liu Bei in (I watched all 11 videos for this run yesterday), but doing so is actually a story event- Liu Bei is the one who eventually owns the Dilu horse and rides it regularly.
You shouldn't have gotten rid of Dilu. It's the fastest horse in the game and currently no evidence shows that the horse triggers events against its rider.
