in today's video, my friends and I discover an abandoned boot house deep in the middle of nowhere In the Isle of Wight! it was very treacherous to get there!

Good to see you on my little island 😀😀. The boot is actually situated in the back of someone’s large garden, hence the log shed (there is a swimming pool in the opposite direction!) so you did well not to get spotted! The old way down from the farmers fields has been secured now by the owner. But Blackgang Chine didn’t fall down the cliff in the landslide, it’s still very much there further down the road.

Is the old hotel still there? We explored it years ago as well as the abandoned chalets, still had old furniture, family photos and children's toys in there

An unexpected find at the bottom of the cliffs between Ventnor and St Catherine's on the Isle of Wight! This boot was build on private land around the 1930s by a loving father of many children. The children bedtime fairy tale stories that their loving father read every night were brought to life. The children were led blind folded into the fairyland they heard so much about in the bedtime stories and were amazed when opening their eyes. Sadly never finished as the father went to war The magic the children once experienced still lives on in all those who discover it. The story of the woman living inside the obscure home reminded fans of the nursery rhyme of the woman who lived in a shoe. The poem of The Little Old Woman who lived in a Shoe originated in 1794, written by Mother Goose but has changed over the years. Eventually we also exploring an abandoned house nearby!

As a kid in the 70's my best friends dad built them a 2 story concrete shoe house... spent a lot of time in it! This brings back memories!

Steve I am pretty sure Paul McCartney and his family lived in a remote area near there in his early years with his wife and two daughters. Many pictures of them with wind swept hair and wool sweaters. in the 70s.

Wow! This was one of your coolest video explores... There used to be a children's amusement park in New England (USA) called "Storybook Forest". It had a Shoe House with a little old woman sitting out side explaining, "I have so many children I didn't know what to DO!". I also remember a "Crooked Little Man House" everything was lopsided and crooked! It was fun. Thanks for sharing!

There's a story book! I had to look it up to be sure lol! "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many children, she didn't know what to do. I never understood why they sing such terrible things to little kids. My dad used to threaten to ship my away in a box, it was never funny to me.

The boot use to be part of a fun Playground at black gang but after a massive land slid it was left there, along with a few other things, loads of stuff ended up in the slip including homes , and if you look over the carpark you can see the slip.and looking closely you can see some other remains from the slip.

This is so sweet - the cliff edges reminds me of home, in Dorset UK. If you haven’t heard Steve, Isle of Portland is the place for you! One similar setting is a forest leads to a cove that includes “pirates grave yards” and abandoned Roman baths also next to a castle. Nuts. Sweet video thank you

They were evacuated. Evicted means you didn’t pay your bill and you were forced to leave for no payment. I love your videos!

I live on the Isle of wight and I have walked on that beach that you filmed at the end. Rarely see a soul down there. And we also used to frequent the first car park you were in when I had a car. Both beautiful locations that we really miss going to. Oh and I don't know of you are already aware but the beach that is by the car park is a nudist beach lol, you walk down the cliff to get to it. That bnb you stayed in is in our home town. We walk past it whenever we have to go into town. Live here my whole life so know the area well.

I had to laugh Steve when you claimed that the kitchen of the first house (real house, not counting the boot) had a “tiny” kitchen!! The kitchen I’ve got in my apartment is microscopic or non existent compared to this quite large(in my opinion!....it’s larger than the average home’s ) kitchen. I’d practically kill for a kitchen this size! Cheers!

I visited Blackgang Chine amusement park in the 70's as a kid and this boot was situated in the theme park itself as an attraction. I have photos of me, my brother and cousins stood at the front door and playing inside. The steps too were part of the park but there was a massive landslide many years ago.

Glad you're safe. We were never allowed to go back to our homes after the landslide because it was too unstable. They wouldn't allow it.

So, a little late to the party.... but this Boot house looks like an unfinished version of the Old Mother Hubbard Shoe house that contains a slide at the Enchanted Forest in Oregon. It's a small, family built theme park on the side of a hill in Turner Oregon. This shoe made me double take and I watched the video to assure myself that EF is still alive and well and that you were not even in the states for this video. I very much enjoyed your video and all the memories it brought..... keep up the good work! Honestly, I never thought I would see another Shoe House ... but I am so very happy to know there are more than the one at EF. Be merry and well, always!

I am 62 years old and when I was a child we had the "View Master" and got a new set of reels for it each month The boot house was part of a fairy tale themed resort back then.

My husband was there when it was being lived in by a man and he was like in his 70s then and my husband says it was nice then back in the 80s. The guy that lived there gave him a wolf dog.

I used to play at blackgang chine as a child my Nan worked for them, the shoe was part of one of the attractions there, it all had to be abandoned when it all started to slip away. So sad my childhood memories are washing away in to the sea 😢
