Join me on a motorcycle journey across America as we uncover the hidden story of Silverado - a modern ghost town with a past of ambition and a present shadowed by desolation. In this documentary, we explore the rise and fall of the once-promising Silverado community, situated in the vast Arizona desert, just a short ride from Las Vegas.
🏜️ Discover Silverado's Untold Story: From its ambitious beginnings in 2006, envisioned as a thriving desert oasis, to its abrupt halt. Silverado's tale is a poignant reflection of economic turmoil and unfulfilled dreams.
🌵 Exploring a Ghost Town: Travel with me through the deserted streets of Silverado. Experience the haunting beauty of abandoned homes and the silence of a dream that never materialized.
🔍 Unraveling the Future of Silverado: Delve into the recent decisions by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors and hear from local residents on the potential revival of this ghost town. Can Silverado rise from the ashes, or is it destined to remain a relic of the past?
🏍️ A Personal Journey: This is more than just a documentary; it's a personal story of grief, resilience, and self-discovery. Find out how this journey through Silverado paralleled my own path of healing after the loss of my father.

Your favorite is called a Territorial style home which has a Mexican influence (check out wikipedia) and the fireplaces are called "beehive" or "kiva" (they have a historical background that is intruiging) you can find this style home in other parts of the Southwest such as Taos, Santa Fe and other parts of New Mexico which is where they type of architecture came from originally. It's actually a Native American influence (Pueblo, etc.) based on ancient adobe structures rather than "cowboy" or "western" style. The desert is so beautiful in that spot it's really a shame that the whole plan is rotting and crumbling there, what a waste. So sorry about your dad, good luck with your vision quest. 🪶🌵

The real estate and bank crash really destroyed so many dreams and homes. There are an untold huge number of homes still abandoned, unable to sell them because of multiple owners and the confusing market shares. As to your loss, I'm sorry for that. I lost my Grandma and my freedom to the pandemic. I wish I could just fly away and figure it all out because it's so confusing to navigate these emotions in the middle of it all. But I'm trapped in a cage as I'm immune-compromised, unable to be among people anymore. I definitely understand the buildings on your channel moreso than the people that walked away from them. To be forgotten, lost, abandoned when they were so full of life, love and stories. What a sad waste. Have a safe journey!

So I lived in prescott Arizona. Real close to this town. There were a lot of crazy things to see off the beaten path. There are crazy below going mines near Lake Alameda. We camped in one. So many treasures to find if you are willing to get alittle dirty and look. Most people never go past roads and population but it's the remote unseen that is so intriguing 🤔. Only a true adventurer can appreciate. Can't wait to see this documentary you created .

@@user-hm7me8ck4z Yeah; I think that's the place off 93 (going towards Phoenix) we pass by all the time. There's still billboards up advertising land and home build sites, but it's all piecemeal now - no major development behind it. A surprising number of people live out in that area, with some well-established neighborhoods as well as farms/ranches. It's not _quite_ as isolated and desolate as it at first appears, but if you bought out there you'd still have to dig a well or have your water trucked in. Mostly "off-grid".

@@JeremyXplores It's so easy to tell that you really had a special relationship with your Dad, sounds like he was the kind of Dad kid's without ones dream of. So much of him is in you, genetically and in how he helped shape the man you are today. I imagine your Dad's spirit walks with you now and is enjoying every journey. This is my first time to your channel. I have watched many exploratory type videos yet never subscribed til now. I like the way you think and your writing style. The way you write is like music and in today's world that is so darn rare. I am responding here to these words you wrote for a reason, it's because you mentioned your Mom has dementia. I have worked in natural health for many many years and been involved with a lot of research. Years ago I came across separate studies, using organic extra virgin coconut oil or diatomaceous earth for various cognitive disorders including dementia. In each study, dramatic and amazing results were achieved however I have yet to see a study utilizing both which I think would be mind blowing or rather in this scenario, mind awakening. Aluminum has been linked with many known brain disorders as it is known to harden the blood brain barrier, this causes the brain to essentially starve. Coconut oil is able to by pass the blood brain barrier and feed the brain directly. Diatomaceous earth rids the brain and body of aluminum thus softening the blood brain barrier and allowing the brain to once again be nourished and function properly. Coconut oil can be made into yummy candy treats and easily administered. The diatomaceous earth is added to water, isn't yummy but perhaps may be encapsulated and taken that way as long as sufficient water is consumed as well. If I knew anyone personally with dementia, I would take a month out of my life and even if they were in a home, I'd try to find a way to give them both these natural substances on a daily basis. The studies did not take that long to show a significant change in the patients, it was a matter of days. I just wrote a month because I'm thinking maybe in a month's time, that person will have enough wits about them to handle the rest of their healing and upkeep themselves. Not all people can imagine themselves doing such a thing, I remember I told a lovely Christian couple about these things, who had a parent with cognitive issues and still living in her home albeit a distance away. The idea of doing such a thing for the mother was unthinkable as their life was too busy..... At least now you have something to work with if interested...you lost one parent but maybe you can be instrumental in healing your Mom....you never know....I just wanted to share some truth with you and at least give you and her a chance and possibly more quality time to share. :)

This is a fascinating, amazing video. I've driven across many stretches of the US, and been fascinated by old abandoned buildings I've seen by the road and off in the distance, always wondering about their stories. BTW, the tile is called "terra cotta," and is also referred to as Spanish tile. I grew up in Southern California, and it's used a good deal on houses there. I find your piece at the end regarding your journey after your dad's death to be particularly poignant. I just read a sentence - "Grief is all the unexpressed love." I think no matter how we lose people who are close to us, there will always be that void of things we didn't get to say to them, experiences we will never share with them, etc. I lost my dad to leukemia on December 27, 2019. I took care of him during his final two weeks, to give him that loving send off and ease my mom's burden. Although I feel I had great closure, and our relationship was terrific, there still has been a good deal of processing - before and after his death. Letting go. Healing. Becoming more of my own person, regardless of how much I thought I already was. And helping my mom and sister navigate the strange world we're living in without him. I hope you find solace and peace, whether in moments or longer periods of time. Surely you will. Thank you for sharing!! 💖💖💖
@JeremyXplores

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I'm glad you found the video fascinating and that it resonated with your own experiences of traveling and observing abandoned places. It's interesting how these old buildings, standing silently, can evoke such curiosity about their past. Thanks for the info about the terra cotta tiles - it's a detail that adds so much character to buildings, especially in Southern California. Your perspective on grief is profoundly touching. The idea that "Grief is all the unexpressed love" really strikes a chord. It’s true, there's always that sense of things left unsaid and experiences not shared, which creates a unique void when we lose someone close to us. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Taking care of him in his final days must have been both incredibly challenging and deeply meaningful. It sounds like you have a strong sense of closure and a great relationship with him, which is so precious. The journey of processing, healing, and evolving, especially in helping your mom and sister, is a testament to your strength and love. Thank you for your kind wishes for peace and solace. It's a journey, and hearing from others who have walked a similar path is both comforting and inspiring. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and share your story. Sending love and strength back to you and your family.

Brilliantly narrated. I lost my Mom several years ago and have gone thru something similar. I have found the unbeaten path is really the only place to find healing and self discovery. I love your display of self awareness and the knowing that the evolution of this time is yours and yours alone. Trying to fit into a societal culture with massive expectations about what you do next is never a good path of healing because its so controlling. I wish that you find whatever it is you are looking for and if that is unknown, that it is made apparent to you. Btw... life will always and forever be before the loss of your dad and after. Normal. Safe travels.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the narration. I'm sorry to hear about your mom, and I can relate to that journey of grief and self-discovery. You're right, sometimes it's those paths less traveled where we really find ourselves and start to heal. Your insights about self-awareness and evolution during this time are spot on. It's so important to find our own way, especially when society often has its own set of expectations. Breaking free from those can be liberating and crucial for true healing. I appreciate your wishes for my journey. I'm still figuring out what I'm looking for, or if it's even something definable. And you're absolutely right about life being divided into before and after the loss - it's a profound change that reshapes everything. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and experiences. It's comforting to know others understand this path. Safe travels to you too, wherever your road may lead.
