I personally don't see this as abandoned. Is it just shut due to Covid? It's not an old run down factory, or mine or castle. This is someone's property you have just decided to enter? Also now you have posted all over YT, it will get pilfered and robbed. Bet the owner loves you!!??

I love exploring derelict places but this hotel is not abandoned - yes, its vacant and uninhabited but not abandoned. It is part of an international chain and sits adjacent to its sister hotel. Cannot believe the arrogance of these guys wandering around the place as if they owned it without a thought for the staff laid off when the place closed, or its future. This is basically an advert for vandals and looters to come and trash a hotel that could re-open once Covid 19 passes (there is enough on this video to easily identify the place). Thanks for your contribution to the Scottish tourism industry at a time when it is on its knees, even if you did miss your breakfast! As for folk suggesting it could rehouse the homeless. Get real! Are you really going to relocate 80 or so homeless folk to a village in the southern Highlands with limited services and job opportunities?

You sure this hotel is abandoned and not just temporarily closed for covid/winter/refurb? I recognise the hotel and quick search on their website reveals no info about closure. They are taking bookings for next year from June 2021 onwards.
This hotel is not abandoned, probably closed because of Covac 19. No body allowed to travel. Looks like a very good hotel probably 3 star. Hope it opens again soon. Winifred Thompson. Lisburn. Co.Antrim. Northern Ireland.
This building looked like it was in reasonably good condition & could be restored! I can’t understand why they don’t have a huge sale & sell the salvageable things... there are sooo much nice furniture, wall art, appliances & sooo many things! It would be very profitable!!! Hallways were narrow, some ceilings were low, not exactly handicapped friendly! I truly enjoyed this property! Thank you Alec for sharing this with us ❤️

This isn't "abandoned" dude I know the staff, it's shut for Covid. What you just did was break into a property and post it online, and I hope you didn't take anything. The owners are aware, from what I hear.
The Hotel is not abandoned all Highland heritage hotels are up for sale and their fleet of coaches, the owners are retiring after building this great hotel business up over years they are awaiting a buyer and have been mothballed until a buyer is found after covid.
Image the drugs and utter chaos that would result in all the homeless living together in these conditions. They were all put in hotels where I lived and they destroyed the hotel and just binged on drink and drugs

The hotel is clearly not “abandoned” but these clowns think they can wander in at their leisure and have a nosey around. And posting their activity here will just encourage others to go there and vandalise, rob and maybe even torch the place. It took me two minutes to work out where this was filmed, so it’s like sniper invitation for any other clowns to come and wreck the place.
@@Perthshire I see your point but they don't disclose their location, and neither did you. What others do to the place isn't their responsibility, imo it's the owners for not having sufficient security in place... Having said that, yes, it is illegal to trespass on owned or abandoned premises in Scotland, but it's not aggravated tresspass. They are acting responsibly for what I've been seeing? Although entering abandoned/unused properties is not included in the freedom to roam act (2003/05) in Scotland, they are adhering to that law by being respectful. If they were caught by the police, they would be escorted off the premises at best. The police are also free to look at these videos as well.
@@Scott-M1 Morally they do have at least some responsibility for what happens to the place after they post a video of it online. The hotel is in a quiet, rural location where sufficient security should really be leaving the building secure. Which it was, until someone broke in. Do you think, at this time, the hospitality industry can really afford the added burden of extra security just because some folk decide to post a video of their property online, basically for a few Likes and a few You Tube dollars?

I used to drive coaches for them, this is where I lived when I first started. I think this one has been closed for a wee while. Pretty sure the other hotels will open up again though, so all of the contents are still owned by the company.
I stayed in that hotel last year, I remember that I asked for butter with my roll. The waiter said he would need to ask the chef! I'm still waiting for the butter! Great explore again Alec. The wee motorbike is a Lexmoto, a Chinese bike. Chinese bikes are cheap and poor quality, that's why its abandoned.
Can you tell me why all the abandoned building you show on your channel are left to rot and not refurbished again? Are they outside your big cities or to costly to repair? What's the reason? Lol,just asking.

Forget moaning about encouraging others to go in. The publicity should encourage the owners to install some full-time on-site security simply as part of their financial model.

I live 2 mins away from the hotel and used to work for the company that owned it. MGM Muthu bought it and a few other hotels in the area about 2/3 years ago, since then it was open for about six months for coach tours then closed about a year and half ago when they closed the coach tour side of the business and they haven’t reopened that hotel since.

Would be a great spot for home less people. It fully furnished and the rent is very cheap . Too bad you cant sell some of that stuff or even recycle it because it's kind of polluting the planet.
That is what i suspected. They should have permission before they make videos like that. Their should be rules to follow and always ask permission first before you make videos.
I remember staying there about 15 years ago the entrant where the canopy where the conservatory is was full of plants the whole hotel was full of plants if l remember as they grew them in the poly tunnels they only took coach party’s mainly for the retired. And tours around Scotland. We have a few hotels in birmingham which are in good condition and everyone says the same but the problem is who would run it? The council cant as the building are probably still owned and in todays society its all about making money
The location of that hotel doesn’t really have a big problem with homelessness. It is also quite far from the places that’d have homeless people and the services to help them.

The hotel itself does not have any charm however all it is abandoned plants is impressive. In any case you have a hell of a team. Just the passage in music shows that the evening atmosphere between you must be terrible 😂👍
When you first went around the corner 0:44 seconds into the video you can see the old part because it’s walls are made of stone and it appears rough. Some of those rooms are huge!! Looks like if anyone wants to buy it, it’s ready to go in no time. 16:35 the first room that you saw that the bed is made and the box of Kleenex is opened, that’s so different from the other rooms. The lady lamps are interesting. I would have loved to see them lit up. The masked cow eating the straw was hilarious!!😂😂 And now the dancing cow and the Masked Wonder. 😂😂😂😂 39:35 is the first major mess that we’ve seen. Huh.... First nursery that I’ve ever seen on the property of the hotel/motel. Love when Natasha said she didn’t know what was in the green bins and then the guys on the motorcycle. 😂😂😂😂💗
That place is still in really good nick, it’s a shame it can’t be used by homeless charities or something. Looks like some folk are already staying there, maybe security? Looks like u all had a great time on this explore 👍😂

There's Very little damage done to this hotel. the only damage i could see was a ceiling. i think somebody has ripped the ceiling down in attempt to steel the copper pipes. Easy fix. But that was a lovely nice looking hotel. why its abandoned I don't know... That building would make a good block of flats. Or even student accommodation. Or a Care Homes for elderly people...
Student accommodation? It is hundreds of miles from the nearest university or college. There is not even a secondary school in the immediate area. Cretin!
Anyone smoking weed?After the start with that giant hookah, it wouldn't surprise me if somebody cleaned it out and put the oil in with the remnants of those joints, even if you only had enough for a single skinner,there's plenty of people I know who would! And watching some of the antics of the people with horses and cows masks made me laugh, man you gotta be on some bloody good weed!
