The Houlihan's restaurant located in Fairfield, NJ, closed its doors permanently in May 2020. It was one of several Houlihan's locations in New Jersey that shuttered during this time, likely due to the chain's financial struggles and subsequent bankruptcy. Customers were left with only a sign on the locked door announcing the closure.

Sad to see this exterior restaurant building overgrown with plants. The interior is in excellent condition which is a good thing. Awesome video as always, TeknBolt!

Great video! Had my first LEGAL drink here when I turned 21 so I will always remember it. It's a shame nobody bought the property as it's in a great location. Especially with a Jose Tejas right next door!

I'm curious is that big "EAT" sign originally for Jose Tejas, or has it been there even before that restaurant? It's pretty cool, and I've always wondered about its history!

So it closed in the height of the first COVID-19 epidemic. It still looks to be in pretty good shape, trim down those weeds, fix the roof and replace those faded roof decorations (or better yet get rid of them) and you are pretty much ready to open. I haven't been in a houlihan's since the late 1990's I think.

I've always enjoyed seeing that overgrown part of nature that takes over a place and makes it apocalypse-like in that regard.
