Never got the bus at Dubai , I always get the train if I land at terminal C and connecting flights at terminal A , missed a flight back in may cause there was 2 flights going to Bangkok around the same time 🙈 my own fault though as I should have checked the flight number , so ended up having to have a night in Bangkok as missed my connecting flight down to Hat Yai too , lessons learned that’s for sure ! It’s not the worst airport to spend a bit of time in though , and luckily there’s plenty of smoking rooms too 👍🏻, hope you had a great time and was great to see your videos with you back in the land of smiles mate 🎉🎉

I've lived in Dubai since 2005, get yourself out of the airport! There's places like Pattaya if you know where to look - Bur Dubai, Panorama Hotel, Jockeys bar, or the bar in CityMax (also Bur Dubai). ST is $100 though.

Claim compensation and have a good mooch.. Take it easy Geoff..

Good afternoon Geoff. Absolutely Loved this movie. It is like we are there with you. Dubai Airport was really Ultra modern and geared for the Trans Atlantic Traveller, like yourself Geoff. I really enjoyed following you mooching through the Huge Airport. You have got that Personal touch, when you Narrate your movies. You have this ability to turn a Negative into a Positive. This was a Pure Joy to watch your Thailand Adventure and then your Amasing Journey home with the Emirates Airline Company. Your meal on the plane looked absolutely Delicious. You did very Well Geoff, travelling over 28 Hours. You have got such Great Stamina and really Good Determination to carry on and Keep Smiling. This was a real Privilage Geoff to come and join you on your Epic Thailand Adventure and Journey. Hope you arrive back home, safely and have nice Mug of Tea and Treat yourself to a Full English Breakfast. Take yourself to bed and Crash out for a few hours. Geoff, don’t forget to claim your delayed flight compensation. So many people don’t bother and airlines very rarely tell you you are entitled after a certain time delay (I think it starts after 3 hours delay so a 7 hour delay should definitely give you a tidy payout). Good luck with it, it will help your next trip funds 😁

I had exactly the same experience in May when I flew home from bangkok to Manchester with Qatar airways. My flight from bangkok was delayed by 3 hours which meant I missed my connection and I had to spend 7 hours in doha airport. I got talking to a bloke at Bangkok Airport who told me doha was a dry airport and I wouldn't be able to get a drink. The bloke was wrong! There is a bar in doha that sells beer all day and night!

Home safe and sound mate, that's the important thing. Enjoyed all of the vids, and I think for you it was more about being back and seeing what the score was after 4yrs.. 👍🏻☕🎖️🇬🇧🇹🇭

Got lucky with qatar couple of years ago . Only 45 minutes between flights arrival 10 minutes late 10 minutes to get off plane then the next gate probably in the next country. Didn't really expect to make it . But turn up gate 10 minutes before departure. Just walked straight on plane . Didn't really expect bags in Bangkok but surprisingly turned up. Wow lucky

Coming back from pure paradise is not a beautiful dream but going to the land of many dreams is an amazing buzz. ❤

I had a 26hr layover there during covid. Luckily I had lounge access and could sleep there. Beer was free. Keep smiling.

I’ve only ever moved from one terminal to another At Dubai on the free airport underground. My next flight to Thailand is in Feb with Eva air direct return from London £748.

Brilliant vjdeo Geoff, loved it, first time i went to TH was in 2009 and i spent 9 hours in dubai comming back, never again, only direct flights since, lhr/bkk with thai or eva,. dubai is a magnificent airport, dont recall it being that big in 2009, your looking well after your break , i'm surprised you didn't stay longer ?,. I retired in nov 22 and had 7 months in TH (222) days, brilliant ,.anyways welcome back to "doom & gloom" uk, i cant wait to get back out to TH for christmas hopefully on a 15 month retirement o visa,. going to the miss the TH videos ,keep smiling bebeep.

Flew A380 a couple of times. Fabulous upstairs. Dubai airport is huge. That’s a lot of walking 😮 hope you got home safe.

Very expensive that Dubai airport. They actually have gold bars vending machines in that airport. The bars take any currencies in the world that's when you realise your been ripped off. Enjoyed your video Geoff as always.

You have 3 terminals on that side of the airport. All connected by walking, bus or train! My colleague ran around two of the terminals during corona when the terminals were closed, from one end to the other… 2.2 km!

Great film Geoff. Happened to us a few years ago with Ethiad ,changed our flight to next day at the last minute - we were about to check in . Got put up in a hotel they paid for but no compensation as non European flight.

Every over-priced Dubai cloud has a silver ( or given its Dubai, gold) lining. You can claim against your flight delay from Emirates if that was the flight in question. Any delay above 3 hours is claimable. There are online companies who will do the application for a cut of t he compensation, or you can easily DIY. Make them cough up! Thanks for the extra footage, Geoff, our silver lining! ...weathers shite here, btw. Keep smiling!

My goodness that trip has flown by. Missing connections and the hassle of a stop off is why I prefer a direct flight. I have just bought mine in the past hour, and I will be out in Pattaya in Mid January for a month mooching!

Hello Geoff, I know you are impressed with DXB (Dubai) but that airport will eventually close. A new, even larger facility for Dubai, has already been built and is ready for when it's needed. Problem with the current DXB is that it's too close to downtown and that's not fashionable today.
