*edit* some glitchy parts are being corrected right now, trimming them out! They should be fixed soon. Hey RoninFam! How are all of you doing? Hope you guys will enjoy this exploration! It's by far my favorite mansion I've ever explored (crazy I know) but it's true! I've never explored such rooms ever in my life and I can't believe how gigantic this place is! Also, we probably won't be seeing another video like this ever again! The place is now completely sealed up and they're now trying to open the place again! So as of right now I don't think it's abandoned! But anyway, what did you guys think about this explore? :) Don't Forget To SHARE And Leave a THUMBS UP! :) Follow My Social Media For Behind The Scenes! The piano is an Erard. And just so you know, one in really bad shape goes for around 10 grand. A restored one will sell for about 200,000 dollars. You just never know what you'll find, creeping around those old mansions.

26.33 if you look closely at the frieze along the upper wall, there are little devils on it getting up to all sorts of mischief. You can see their tails and horns quite clearly and 2 appear to be playing tennis with something. This may well be the reason behind the name for the chateau. The style of wallpaper is called 'Trompe l'oeil' which means to fool the eye, it gives an optical illusion of depth and perspective and a 3d effect. Way cheaper than actual carvings.
@jtalbot34
@jtalbot34 5 лет назад
HAGGIS .MCHAGGIS the true name of this Chateau is Chateau de Pont Remy Somme. It was originally a castle built in the 15th century (1421) turned into a private home in the 19th century. The castle played a significant role in the Hundred Years War, many notables stayed here such as Henry IV, Mary Stuart, and Henry II. Edward III was once held here as well. It became the private residence of the Countess of Coux and was sold many times to private owners and now is still owned but abandoned. It has caught fire many times since 1421 and rebuilt. Steve was lucky to get in because the children of the owners have now by the township been forced to close it up with cameras and alarms and to restore it. Nothing at all to do with anything evil or Lucifer.

@@jtalbot34 Thank you for that information, I enjoyed reading it. So sad that this beautiful building is neglected and left to fall to bits. I hope it is restored but it seems there are a lot of abandoned grand homes in France, potentially due to the inheritance tax. The wallpaper frieze is intriguing.. I was surprised as France I believed was predominantly Catholic and it seemed a bit mischievous . It's always good to throw in a bit of 'sinister' vibes when it comes to filming these abandoned buildings... bumps the ratings up :D Although I must admit I get a bit tired of hearing every dusty broken doll described as 'Creepy.' Still, I get a vicarious thrill watching this footage and spotting things that may have been missed :D Cheers !

The wood work is gorgeous. There were so many things I saw that were just amazing. Probably built in the late 1700s-1800s. The fireplaces and ceilings...oh just marvelous. The wall paper back then was terrific. They take pieces of wallpaper now, to make reprints of old patterns. Shame I didn't grow up in that house when built. However, I'd want all my family in it. Lol! 4 out of the 10 of us would've stayed in the library reading all day! Wish we could've seen more.😔 Great video ! Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.👍and⭐⭐⭐⭐from me❤

It's so strange knowing that people lived out their lives there, raised their children there, and likely watched their grand children run around there. They experienced many of the same pleasures and pains of life that befall all of us. And yet, they no longer exist in the here and now.

The piano that didn't play is an organ. Back then, an organ would have a foot pedal tjat would have to be pumped for it "ran on air." The foot pedal would pump air through chambers and pipes of different sizes and notes. Hence a Pipe Organ! (So that's why the piano as you called it didn't work)

Also saw a few books concerning Louvre. I can't listen to the audio because I'm at work so perhaps he notes this in his narration. *shrug* I don't notice anything that would say the owner was a satanist or luciferian in nature (implied by the name of the house) at all unless I'm overlooking something.

So glad your able friend got the French beds and that you got that beautiful music room. That grand piano was pristine. Looked to me like there were a lot of periodicals in the library. And in the adjacent room for more expensive books, some of those paperbacks reminded me of old scripts of plays. The library stairs were so lovely. I wish I could restore it. But you guys seems nice and under educated, but I kinda like your style. So to be sure you understand what this is, notice that in France: "The violation of domicile by an individual is sanctioned by a prison sentence of one year and does fine of 15,000 euros (Article 226-4 of the Penal Code)." Shiahian well, if you were into Antiques, you’d know why. A Swedish Mora is a Gustavian style furniture and they date back to the 1800 and is unique to Sweden. They’re really popular in America and Europe for their curvy shape and pretty soft colors. They are produced to his day, for just a few hundred dollars all the way up to thousands..but the Original antique ones are worth thousands and thousands. That’s definitely worth ‘freaking out’ about.

i really like the way you have developed this perfection of presenting these abandoned places. We glory in the magnificent library, the handsome brass bedsteads even the slight lack of excitement of some of the rooms. You have shown the truth. You show us round by yourself, giving us a chance to feel as if we are exploring with only you thus allowing the atmosphere to envelop us with the aid of the delicate piano music that allows the past to feel like the past. A minimal disturbance of the dust. Your slo-mo entrance through the doorway, a speeding up the stairs fast and silently, detaching you [and us] from time to match speeds with the building that has got stuck at the point of the mysterious abandonment, with only a soft decay to mark the passing of slow still ages. Then you show us the outdoors, the peeling paint and overgrowth of plants that still leave space to imagine and still we are in the past, pierced by the poignancy of the missing inhabitants. Where are they? Why have they left? When you leave, you are suddenly busily noisy in the present emphasising the contrast in a way that leaves our experience of the place as a separate unspoiled perfection. Well done!! I hope your family are proud of you!

Amazing... I've watched a few of your videos, thanks for being so respectful of these properties. You are walking through a treasure chest of memories when you explore these buildings that were once people's homes. It's a shame that these beautiful buildings have been abandoned to nature, I hope someone someday will restore them to their former glory. Thanks for sharing your journeys with us. Stay safe ❤️🏚️

Sébastien Érard (born Sebastian Erhard, 5 April 1752 - 5 August 1831) was a French instrument maker of German origin who specialised in the production of pianos and harps, developing the capacities of both instruments and pioneering the modern piano. Also, the pic ( on this wikipedia page)of the brand on The piano looked exactly like that one!

Well, you say that and I agree, up to a point. Those beautiful leather sofas, all the books, sculptures, huge mirrors will be smashed and ruined by the rotting ceilings falling in eventually and mold. Why waste what they didn't want to take with them?

The biggest killer of these old buildings are the water logged decaying roofs and the ivy. In Ireland there used to be a roof tax so to keep an old building on your property by removing the roof you became devoid of the tax and inadvertently saved many buildings from falling to the ground, “off course these would be completely empty not like this one” because as the roof trusses expand with water they push out the walls then the ivy grows in the cracks causing the whole building to crumble. Now there are grants here to re-roof the remainder ones with galvanize roofs which you are required to do which is considerably cheaper than full renovation but protects them till some love or money turns up in the future. This fine building needs a roof badly cause it still has retained all its fixtures, god this one needs fixing I’d love to get my hands at it what a shame. This where the councils should send men’s retirement groups and community service placements to give them a love for there environment cause you can’t work in one off these places and not fall in love with it. It’s too vast for one owner to tackle.

By far you have the best job/career/lifestyle ... to be able to do what you do! I can't imagine getting to explore the places you're going to! Feel so lucky to get to explore this with you! Thanks for taking us along. Even with that ominous name for this chateau, I would love to live there ... in secret (???) ... and the books ❣❣❣❣ .... I would want to read and touch each book in there! A crying shame that it has fallen into such disrepair... someone should have been a caretaker to the property! What beautiful things still are kept there.
