I am following you on Instagram now I love to explore these abandoned places they have so many memories and so many ghosts in them they're so beautiful I wish wish people would fix them back up there so many people that need homes
As a senior citizen, I remember these times, and people when growing up. I totally respect what you are doing, your demeanor, appreciation of history , and historical structures. The music sets the tone of peace, and respect, as does your tone of voice. These might never be documented respectively without you. You were brought up well.
Julie Klie OMG you beat me to it~ I was going to comment THE SAME!! I'm 68 & I love & appreciate Steve Ronin's adventures! I would've done this at his age if I knew it was possible then. I was really worried when you were walking on the last floor~ it sounded like it was cracking & anyone could fall thru & you were by yourself!!! Also LOVE the drone shots you include. Thank you & stay safe!!
If this is Hotel Niagara, my life changed in 1965 due to something that occurred in that building. At that time, there was a radio station on the mezzanine - on the left side as you walk in. It was WHLD. The ballroom probably replaced it when the station moved out. I was in the control room and picked up a copy of Broadcast Engineering magazine. I answered an ad for a recording engineer wanted in Hollywood, and ended up with a 38-year career at Capitol Records in Hollywood. Now retired, 84 years old and still living in California, I was saddened to see the condition of that building that once contained a great radio station and made such a profound difference in my life. Thanks for showing it to us, Steve.
Why people want to go in with spray paint and try to finish destroying beautiful old buildings like this is beyond sickening!!! Thank you for taking the time to film your videos, it's evident that some young people really do care about the past and clearly you do😊 Keep up the good work!
I went to my friends wedding here in 1990. It was a beautiful place, and I was sad to hear it closed years ago. I can't wait to see it reopen. Thank you for your amazing videos, this was one of my favorites.
I'm from Buffalo, and will never get over Niagara Falls wasting away for the past 40+ years! So much potential and beauty destroyed by neglect & dilapidation!
Hi Steve. This hotel just screams the early 1930s, 40s, 50s, & 60s. I keep seeing short film clips of those classic stars in their evening wear, the sounds of big band horns, & polished floors, glass, & brass. I hope the owners will be able to complete the restoration and not lose it. It's just incredible. Stay safe
I remember delivering pizza there in the 80's the place was beautiful if you came in the side door the were marble floors and stairway thank's for sharing great video
Your photography makes every building look so beautiful no matter how old and decayed it is. Loved the main entrance it was so bright and the location so close to the falls. Amazing 😊🇬🇧
If you had a few pictures of this Hotel in its days....that would have been great!! I can hardly imagine this hotel coming back to a new life the ceilings are in bad shape and the roofs foundation in it’s day it must have been so beautiful!! Niagara Falls is so beautiful 💕
I can't understand how this place is abandoned smh you would think one of the celebrities would invest in this hotel since an iconic person like Marilyn lived here.
I agree! It is kind of making me not want to watch this channel. Someone is being kind and you reply so rudely, it says a lot about who you are as a person. If he is in every video I’m unsubscribing.
Money, not being able to manage the upkeep, lack of modern amenities ... costs a lot to go through to fully wire the thing with all the things that people expect today in a luxury hotel.
Just getting anyone to restore the missing pieces of crystal is difficult enough. I wouldn't doubt if those were more likely $75, 000 each. Hell of a job to clean them.
During her short life, Marilyn Monroe became one of the world’s most popular and enduring icons, known best for her sexy roles in films like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Some Like It Hot. Perhaps less known, however, is that the American actress with the trademark blonde coiffure and little black beauty mark loved a fancy hotel. Indeed, her spirit lives on at some of the most glamorous properties around, from the New York City hotel where she had an infamous row with Joe DiMaggio to the Hollywood haunt she called home for nearly two years. Read on to go inside the luxury hotels where Marilyn Monroe would stay
Q: "How could you explore a place without a camera?" A: "Just like we have explored the whole world for thousands of years"- one of the most millenium questions ever heard :) great video thank you!
Definitely worth a sympathetic renovation . 26:38 shows how they hid those large steel trusses inside the partition walls of what were probably meeting rooms. This place is well built !
I loved this hotel. I hope that it will be restored soon. It is absolutely to beautiful to be abandoned. John F. Kennedy stood out as a guest for me as well as Marilyn Monroe. The entrance and the ballroom were stunning. Just a shred of what that hotel once looked like. Very grand - I can only imagine the events hosted there. So much history. Thank you for capturing this and sharing. We all need a reminder of what "gems" are in the USA. Take care, stay safe & God bless! xoxo 💖 Kat
Its crazy how they just let buildings and homes just rot instead of maybe starting a shelter or a rehab for people But I guess they can do whatever they want whoever owns it
I first came upon your content and just fell in love with abandoned places. Then I started to view other explorers. But you're my top number one explorer. I'm PROUD TO BE CALLED ARMY RONIN
Being in the grand ballroom, it wasn't hard for me to imagine the way the room must have looked in its day, and also imagining Marilyn Monroe on the arm of a dashing suitor, getting ready to take to the dance floor. I could also picture her and her entourage coming through the grand front entrance and lighting up the entire lobby with her beauty. Norma Jean stole my heart, and as a senior in high school in 1965, I remember feeling utterly devastated by her death. I still have a copy of our local newspaper that carried the front page headline announcing she was gone forever. Your videos are beyond amazing and through the entire tour I could feel and picture her there, perhaps throwing a cocktail party in a lavish suite on the penthouse floor. Kudos to you, my man!
Hi Steve..im from Philippines 🇵🇭..im always watching your videos..i think all your videos i already watched..just like a movie marathon to me..keep sage always..
The Brock Plaza Hotel In 1952, the 20th Century-Fox film Niagara was shot in Niagara Falls. Marilyn Monroe, Joseph Cotten, and Jean Peters all stayed at the Brock, with Marilyn staying in room 801. In 2000, the final scene of the film The Whole Nine Yards was shot on one of the balconies of the Brock Plaza Hotel.
I can hear the echoes of the hustle and bustle and voices of the past when you pan around the foyer. Its almost as if the walls breathed in and now they are exhaling.
The lobby and building layout reminds me of the old Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, TX. Seriously cool property!!! Fortunately The Baker has been undergoing a massive renovation over the past couple of years and the Grand Lady of West Texas as she is known will be welcoming guests again within another year or two. I have some photos from when I explored her back in 2017, and even in all the decayed grandeur there was still a magic about the property. I recommend checking out the history of the place if you've never heard of The Baker Hotel of Mineral Wells, TX. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm a new subscriber, and already hooked on your videos!!!!!
It’s a shame that buildings aren’t being built like they were in the olden days. They can stand the test of time but these other buildings can’t last and they just fall apart.
Maybe original pictures of the Niagara Hotel here: Hotel Niagara - Indian Room Niagara Falls, New York NY Original Vintage Postcard. It shows the Indian fluorescent light that was against the wall. Found the postcard on Amazon. Watching makes me do research to see what the original place looks like.
I love watching abandoned explorations. I have three autoimmune diseases. I have problems with too much stimulation. I want to thank you for being so chill, informative and very good with the cameras. Your my favorite urban explorer.
PROUD to be part of the Ronin Army! That actually made me almost tear up...I am so honored to be part of this channel family. I can't do Patreon at the moment (finances are terrible, like so many other folks around the world) but you have my whole heart!
Amazing. Monroe, JFK, Sinatra, Gangsters like Capone, Lana Turner, West (Forgot her first name the "come up and see me sometime" gal.), Liberace, Jayne Mansfield, Rock Hudson, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Johnny Carson, Gabor sisters(Ava & ZsaZsa), Ava Gardner, Sonya Henny, Bing Crosby, Fred Astair, Ginger Rogers, Clark Gable, Vivian Leigh, Cary Grant, Bogart, Lauren Becall, James Stewart, Gary Cooper, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Montgomery Cliff, Henry Fonda, Gregory Peck, Errol Flynn, Bob Hope, others, all walked through those doors.
Watching from the Uk, thank you for sharing this adventure having being a great fan of Maryln for years this was amazing, hope you and your family are all ok during these troubled times, please stay safe x
Ronin you gotta go back to this place after it's complete renovation would really like to see how great it turns out. I really enjoy your videos keep up the good work and please stay safe ✌
Yes and unfortunately because they were discussing how valuable they are someone is probably going to try and take them and will likely destroy them in the process of trying. They should've never said that they were valuable for all of RU-vid to see.
I hope it does get renovated and brought back to it's old glory, not just another hotel. This place must have been magnificent. Thanks for another tour. Your respect earned you a subscription from me. Mahalo. 🤙
Marilyn Monroe was in the movie "Niagara" filmed at Niagara Falls in 1953. In the film there were cottages by the falls and most of the filming was done on the U.S. side of the falls to the best of my knowledge. Not sure if Monroe had a starring role in the film or not. Great find. Cheers
its really noisy from street noise , they are going to have to replace ALL the windows to expect guests to stay ..vintage chandelier on ebay that size can be 14K each
Looks like it's in Niagara falls New York. I have been in there in the mid 60s when my family were on vacation to visit my mother's family that place was fantastic.
Hi Steve and my good neighbors from Buffalo. I really love the upstate New York video’s of yours. I’ve been to exactly where you filmed countless times. Enjoyed seeing the old beautiful hotel. It really is so sad how the once thriving area keeps wasting away. The falls are breathtaking and worth a trip. It does surprise me how easily you got in. Especially in city districts. I really look forward to videos of yours from this area. Its fun recognizing where you are. I feel like an insider🤓 Stay safe wherever you’re adventures take you.
I'm new and am impressed with the way you make your films and the respect and admiration you show for the architecture and history is heart warming. Your friend on the other hand... tsk tsk. You may wish you had that help one day.
Once gorgeous property!!! I was thinking that the structure may be too decayed to restore 😔 The banister was grand! If the chandeliers are authentic, they are worth thousands of dollars in today’s market!!! Sad to see the vandalism 😔 The ceilings are beautiful! Thank you for sharing this epic, wonderful adventure with us! I truly enjoyed it ❤️
