Very unexpectedly I teamed up with two German urban explorers to explore this huge abandoned castle of dreams in Germany with a ballroom which will spark your mind! It has also been used during WW2.

The painting style of the ballroom is called "Trompe l'oeil" (Fool the Eye).. a style of painting in which things are painted in a way that makes them look like real objects

Such a beautiful and yet mystifying building. Those doorknobs! That ballroom! Even some of the intricate floors took my breath away! It was certainly put to many uses over the decades. Well done! You're very professional and I really appreciate that. Cheers from 🇨🇦

Exquisite ballroom and thankfully the piano is gone. The chandelier is breathtaking! Thought provoking to think about WWII; we MUST never allow dictators to rule and harm individuals. Thank you for exploring the entire property and the inside castle. You’re the best explorers! ❤️❤️🇺🇸

The architecture and art work in the ballroom is incredible! The seating for the students looks very uncomfortable. The quality of workmanship from so long ago is amazing. It would have been interesting to see the dates on the fire extinguishers.

🍃Unbelievably Manificent!🍃 MAX and Richard Zimmerman first worked for Steinway and Sons in New York City. They then started their own piano manufacturing company in 1884, in Germany a town called Leipzig. With an increase in business, another factory was open in 1904. By 1912 the company became one of Europe's largest piano manufacturing companies. This is a perfect example of a time Capsule..I literally was frozen, visually by it's beauty. The main spectacular 3 dimensional room with the murals, architectural designs and the craftsmanship of it all, BLEW MY MIND! 🤯

unfortunately, a lot of these places end up abandoned because they simply cost too much money to maintain. it would basically take a billionare to restore and maintain them over a long term, and most people that are smart enough to have gathered that kind of wealth, are generally smart enough to just build something brand new rather than buying someone elses problems.

Dude! that doorknob at 7:16..wow! The trump loile paintings in the ballroom were mind blowing..all those columns and mirror over the fireplace and patterns for trim --to think someone painted that. Really fooled me. I thought the architecture was rampant in there. But just paint...wow.!!! And the oval cameos with the Greek gods in them...so unique for a German castle. And the plaster work wreaths and clusters on the walls--real craftsmanship. The little room with the table and chair...pretty disturbing. Best part of this? No water damage from the roof. Someone is taking good care..to make sure those beautiful arches will be there for many years. And yes ..explore empty buildings as long as the architecture is awesome!

This was huge. An amazing exploration. Another job well done explomo. I wonder why there were castles, mansions, villas, farm houses, barns, plantation houses and many more around the world explored by diff explorers like Your team. You will noticed also that many of these explored are located in very remote areas like in the forest, near the sea and mountains side and nowhere. Thinking that the world has so many homeless people while these abandoned properties are decaying and even demolished Because it became useless as time goes on.

I am glad the castle had a new purpose after seemingly being a place to hold prisoners. Although sometimes students feel like they're in prison at school! Some of the paintings of people are Roman gods. I noticed Mercury with his hat and feet with small wings. I am happy for you that you got to have such a great unexpected adventure!

@@Explomo unfortunately, as you said yourself in this video, the cost to fix and maintain it would be prohibitive. that's why these places generally become abandoned. when they were built, building materials were MUCH cheaper, and these buildings were created to house an entire family, not just a mother, father and their few children but aunts, uncles, grand mothers, etc all with their own children and siblings, all of which contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of the property. these days, families do not live like that, and the cost/labor for a conventional family to complete the same work is astronomical. there is also an incompatibility in the old building materials versus the new building materials. its hard to find solid granite building blocks for example these days as the world has moved on to using lighter, cheaper, but less durable concrete blocks. yeah it's a shame to see these places rotting, but the real crime is that all the items contained within will be destroyed along with the building, like the portugese viscount's house for example... probably at least a million euros worth of antique books on the shelves, full of knowledge that will likely be lost to time because unless someone "steals" them as you protest against constantly, they will be destroyed with the house. another thing to consider with european buildings of this type... most of them were occupied by the nazis during the war, they are the exact type of places nazi officers liked to take over and turn into testing labs, concentration camps and command posts, not to mention gathering places for nazi party political meetings and events. a lot of people in the world don't want anything to do with that history.

Hi Maureno, Explomo, That was again an absolutely interesting location you could explore. - I found it so great, that you also did an explore with your Dad and after that this impressive castle-explore with the two German explorers. - The grand ballroom with these paintings, that makes them look like real objects, was surprising and fascinating. - I also liked your historical explanations with an old original photograph. Your walk through the basement rooms was somehow also quite special, and I hoped, that you will again find your way out. - But as I presume, these are the usual excitements and thrilling moments you are always having during urbex activities. - By the way, I just saw, that you now hit the magical number of 10000 subscribers. - Wow! That's really great, and I am also very happy for you. Many congrats from my side!! Greetings to Remon too. - Wishing you all the best and a lot more subscribers. - Peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.
