I’ve explored all of Canada via google earth! Not even kidding though. By the time I moved from the west coast to the east I already had hundreds of spots pindropped on my maps to check out and knew how to get right to them aswell. Great video
Thanks Jason! My wife grew up in the area and she's always asking why you don't tell us where the places are. Your reasoning is spot on. We love your channel and look forward to many more shared experiences here.
I used to put the name and general location of places in my older videos, but had to switch up in the past two years. Obviously some of them are so well known I can say exactly what they are like the Crook Point Bridge or Apex Building. Half the fun is finding them anyway - thanks for watching!
Art in Ruins is a great site, though people should know it's Rhode Island and New England specific. Jason Hogue who runs it in his spare time is a great guy, and I've contributed some photos and writing to the published collection over the years. Art In Ruins, GCPVD have been my go-to's when researching for about as long as I've been seeking out abandoned places. I felt like Google Earth was the my best kept secret in the mid 2000's when it was a goldmine that nobody seemed to know about yet.
Thank you for the tips. I love checking out abandoned places and definitely agree with you 100%. They need to be treated with respect. I know some places you have covered are not too far from me such as the Pawtucket Ghost Station which is only 10 mins from my house. But I like to use the methods you have shown to find some places of my own. Thanks and looking to more of your videos
Love your content man! Just in case you were wondering, the string of rail cars and equipment just up the line from here is not abandoned and I wouldn't recommend anything more than just walking around them. The car you went to here is pretty much the only truly abandoned car on the island. Lol as shitty as some of the other equipment might look, slow progress is being made by the two rail companies in the area. Also really liked the Pawtucket Station vid. If you want, I can send you some locations of other abandoned cars in this part of New England.
In Stryker Ohio there's an abandoned steam engine pump house"UNTOUCHED BY VANDALS"built in the 1860s and abandoned in the 1950s early 60s. If you decide to go there please get in touch with me and I can show you where it's at. It's right across the road from rupp landing State Park, can't miss it. 😉👍👍😊
I remember when sanzhi had those ufo houses, it would be the only thing that would appear searching “sanzhi”, i am a citizen that lives near that area, the entire place got demolished.
Funny story I actually live pretty close to the broadcast towers I always drove past them but I never knew what it was or its history until I watched the video ps love the vids
Interesting, based on the outside, I'm surprised how new the inside actually looked - may fall in line with restoration efforts noted by another comment here.
The issue is stupid people think places are abandoned when they are not. Many owners own these things and have hopes to save it somehow and run out of money or just die.
I'm trying to find abandoned hotels/ motels, schools, warehouses, farms, old houses anything along those lines that are for sale in the Vacaville, Davis, Fairfield CA That can be used for a haunted house. My son does haunted houses every year but has to depend on finding empty places to rent each year & it would be so much easier if he could find a place to buy & use each year. I have been trying to find places & have asked. Everyone I can think of for help with absolutely no luck. Can you possibly give me any ideas? He donates all his profits every year to the various kids programs in his area so he does alot of good. It's just getting harder & harder each year to find a place to have it plus he has to start from scratch each year to get them all set up. I really would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you Dona H
That is a Pennsylvania RR homemade in Altoona, Pa shops P-70 coach. It has SOLAX WINDOWS. So the light that comes in is green. It has grease bearings and the huge merged up railroads don't want to haul cars with these types of wheels. So it was shoved out to the interchange and left. It is from a closed railroad museum. Most cars were moved to other museums. I won't tell you where it is I do know being a life long train buff. A few odds and ends are in there they couldn't sell or want to keep. The museum closed because of NO younger people that wanted to continue it. The membership just died off. I don't understand these boomers like me. I have lots of young friends that share my intense interest in trains. The next are the battleships that older navy guys wanted to save. Except they are DEAD. And there are NO younger people interested in them either. That are not far from where you shot this video. One more thing is that car has millions and millions of miles on it. In service for 70 years between Chicago to New York, Saint Louis, Upper Michigan and the Jersey shore! Look at a map of the Pennsylvania RR and you'll see the area it worked. At speeds of a 100 miles per hour.
Love your page being from RI myself. But it always annoys me that urbex-ers always wanna focus on the graffiti writers, and not the state that abandoned these buildings. In my experience a lot of spots have been enhanced by the art. If the concern is maintaining them in their original state, then be mad at RI for not doing more to protect its infrastructure.
