Very interesting info on this Bldg for sure! I drove past it for years when I worked in the area, and had no idea that all this was going on. Great video!
Good location for a newly built condo and office tower. That mold is probably running rampant now, like the roaches and rats that are living there rent free. 😬
I was gonna say, with all the mice, rats and mold, it'd probably be better off tearing it down and starting over. The mold alone would harm the elderly who have weaker immune systems anyway.
I didn't know that place was still standing! In the late '80s, a local Atlanta swingers' club used to hold their monthly socials there. Perhaps they were lured by its neophallic design.
@@undergroundretail That place was a landmark when I moved to Atlanta in 1979. It really stood out because there was no Spaghetti Junction then--to get onto I-285 from 75, there was a "Take Gap/Give Gap" sign at the overpass.
I think we should leave it as is. Nobody else is ever going to want it and if somebody does demolish and build another building, that one will also have problems and be left forgotten and the cycle continues. In time it will deteriorate and fade away into nothingness, leaving behind space for vegetation.
@@undergroundretail not a damn thing. I checked tax records (yes, I'm a real estate nerd) and they've been paying north of $12 Gs every year, with a number of notable late fees. but no, the building itself is unchanged in bomb-shelter glory
@@WillPollock Interesting. A few people reached out and asked me for Blueprints I had found and scanned in, but those have since been lost on my old Laptop and when I moved houses
@@undergroundretail I'm the lead weaver and manager of a local fence factory. I've had this job for 29+yrs now, so no way I didn't. I'm the only one we have doing heavier wire like that too.
@@undergroundretail I just make it, not installations. I'm far too old of that, lol. I can make a 50ft long roll of that heavy galv in just under 20 minutes for 8ft, and 12 minutes for 6ft. No one wants to learn, and it takes years to master it, so I'm still in high demand. ;) We used to be located in Smyrna, but since relocated to East Point, near airport. That stuff sells for over 50 cents per sqft, so it doesn't get left for rookies to run.
how did you get it, the sports complex people told us to leave. They said there are motion sensors, you think they’d actually notify anyone? I really want to explore all the art inside there
@@AnarchisticSociety I went back in 2019 for like 7 months straight I haven’t been since so I don’t know how strict it is now. I know it has a new owner so I don’t know. Used to have a back door that stayed open
Since when documentaries state people's opinion? It is true that Vincent Lu did not pay his share of the bills, but I was an administrator there and the bad reviews are not fair and they're speculations and opinions. Did any of the previous residents mention that they were many months behind on paying their rent?
I went based off the reviews and news articles. I didn't come across any posts or forums of past workers at the time. It's always two sides of a story 😔
This should be Spirit Music Ministries world HQ. we would put studios, office space, and suites in and refurbish and re-open the club on the ground floor. I would love to know what you can find out about the industrial spaces on the same block.
Thanks for Watching! All of those sound like good ideas for the building and not sure what's going on currently. It still remains untouched whenever I pass it and the companies website is still active. www.awavi.life/
