This abandoned resort was everything I expected and more. It is very remote, so luckily it isn't visited often and it is in perfect condition. There is a beautiful rock cook oven, a stone hot tub and a big beautiful waterfall in the background. This was an amazing spot to stop and see, but it is only day two of this incredible trip.

Matthew Falls actually, drains Ghost Lake. Comet Creek Resort ran in the 90’s, built and run by a man named Brian. He had big plans, wanted to generate electricity from Comet Creek Falls. He was out there building and working about 5 years, catered to both summer tourists and winter snowmobilers, cooked pizza in the pizza oven (the main cabin was the restaurant). You never even noticed why the fisherman’s hut was named so?? Brian almost died out there by himself when he had a medical emergency in the middle of the winter. He never managed to come back afterwards. The place has since changed hands now owned by a local outfitter. If you want to know the history of a place you should talk to the locals! Thank you for closing the doors....Oh and welcome to BC’s interior rainforest.

You did a wonderful job showing the beautiful outdoors we have close to home. My grandpa Brain built those cabins, my uncles and my dad helped when I was a kid. They were so beautiful in there time. The hot tube was always running and my grandpa made pizza for everyone. He lived there full time for a few years. The stone salmon in the fisherman’s cabin you didn’t get a good shot of.. but thank you for keeping the door closed to hold in its Beaty a little while longer. We always go on a yearly trip and see how much has changed and what people have done to keep it there. My moms friend came across your video and shared it to us. The Blairs

morgan, was that the stone salmon in/on the lower wall at 5:26? Did your family carve it or build it with stone like that or was it a fossil impression? It was hard to tell. It would be so bittersweet for me, were I to have your memories of being there when it was actively being built and thriving with life. Things like that....the past...make me very sad. But I have depression & grief and everything makes me sad. Thank you for sharing some of the story. It is such a gorgeous spot. I wish it could be brought back to existence.

@@morganblair3011 cool! How lucky you were. Priceless memories to last a lifetime. Special quality life experiences like that leave an impression don't they, such that when we are 65 years old, we'll be able to pull up girlhood memories with as much vibrant detail of colors & sounds, as if happened the day before. PS. When I wrote before that the past made me sad I didn't communicate that properly. It is more of a bittersweet feeling recalling all of my past, for it was so beautiful; full of nature, family, trips, history & heart-wrenching memories because so many of the people have passed on. My family all shared a large Shore compound on water's edge where me, my fam, cousins, aunts...everyone, lived thru Summers over fairytale lands of massive trees, the sea, many bungalows for separate family living, one being the large kitchen/dining bungalow where we'd have huge crab feats & pancake breakfasts. The foundation of a brain-vault of visuals & happenings of an idyllic childhood as I'm sure you have as well. The place is still there but falling down. I also drive to it once a year or so. Thanks for answering my question.

People use to appreciate being outdoors, in cabins or just camping. Today, it's as but a dream. All ruins and still well made construction still stands. You can see those stone cabins were made to last. Those old places were be replaced one day and people again will live on the spot they once stood. The forests do have their own cycle to renovate themselves and come back to life!

Really loved this video!! A miracle that it is untouched other than natural decay. Quite sad that nobody is trying to preserve those huts, they're cute. I bet it was glorious when open. Thank u for sharing this little gem.

Considering its age most of the buildings are in maintainable condition because of the quality of construction. Required repairs not that extensive clean up the Field Mouse droppings to lessen the risk of Hantavirus, drop in more rugged furniture and relax. Agreed its so nice to see the resort only touched by time and weather. Great vlog.

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for doing what you do and bringing a camera along. I've lived in BC all my life and Ive only ever started to really explore it after being inspired by the vids you make. Also, big respect for following the urbex creed of taking nothing but photos and leaving nothing but footprints. Btw, If you ever find yourself in the Kootenay region you should check out the valley of ghosts between New Denver and Kaslo. There is an obscene level of history and abandoned buildings through there.

I always think it is interesting how dust free and how shiney clean these "abandoned" places are. Notice how white and clean the toliet is. The windows appear to have just been washed.

The opening scene alone made me glad I subscribed. I've been temporarily disabled for the last few years. And though I'm getting better all the time now, I'm so out of shape from 2 years of being bedridden, and a little more than a year of not being able to walk without a cane. I used to go on gnarly adventures all the time. But now I'm almost 45, and it's very difficult to get back in shape for commando missions over rivers, through woods, up and down mountains, etc. Mahalo Nui Loa for making this channel. I can still get a vicarious glimpse of adventure. Alohaz

just start out with little walks and slowly build back your stamina. I know. It's hard to once have been so adventurous and active...to then look back on it all as great memories. One has to be glad we had that opportunity and adjust to the new you. good luck!!

My jaw literally dropped when you walked out the sliding doors. I was wondering where the rushing water sound was coming from. That place is rad. And the campsites look like you could just drop a tent right now. Crazy.

someone needs to clean those cabins up a bit and use as rec cabins, at least they could still be used. overall pretty good shape. one day ill get to this place

We loved it. Keep them coming. Can I tell you something to help? Slow the camera down when you go to move it from side to side!! It blurs and makes you dizzy! Other than that, they are great!
