Both Hazelwood and Florissant are a pair of North County suburbs that are still decent places to live. However, both municipalities have lost population overtime. Hazelwood is home to the former St. Louis Mills Outlet Mall which failed arguably from being under poor ownership. Florissant has been forced to downsize their public schools due to lower enrollment rates from population loss.
