Grandma Ventures my Mum had one of her careracts removed, the other she had since a child and they said it was too deep to remove, but she could see after a couple of years of being blind and she said it was wonderful as she didn't feel a thing. I had been buying audio books for her so she was thrilled to read her books again. The thing I liked most was the beautiful Fire King devided dish, I love that colour. Mind you I liked everything you unboxed, the other set that caught my eye was the black and gold Asian set with the gorgeous spoon, that is so special. I will be having my right eye cataract surgery tomorrow morning (3-9-22). My left eye was done in in December. I was nervous. Gave me a low dose of Valium. That helped quite a bit. Surgery was really quick. You will be amazed at how clear everything is. I wished I had the money to get the lenses where you don't have to wear glasses ever. I will keep Grandma V in my prayers.

My husband had his cataracts done. The second one was four weeks after the first one. As he does a lot of driving he had his cataracts done so he could drive without his glasses and read with glasses. He couldn’t have cataracts that adjusted to distance due to a defect in one eye. He is great now and doesn’t have any problem with either of them. All the best for your surgery. look forward to seeing you after your surgery and hearing how it went for you. Take care!.

Good luck with cataract surgery grandma, had mine done in January 19 & 26th wonderful to be able to see. They do them 1 week apart and it’s not bad, they freeze your eye with drops, no needles involved. I only got standard lenses so still have to use bifocals to read, lenses with bifocal were too expensive and my health care covered the standard best of luck

The plastic spiky brush is for brushing off fluff and lint from your clothes, doesn’t work very well.

Hi, I am a 65 years old norwegian woman. I had surgery for cataracts before Christmas. It's painless, it's done in 15 minutes, and you have vision like an eagle afterwards. Good luck

The blue glass pyrex with the wells is a meat platter. Roast meat of any kind needs to "rest" for 15 minutes or so before carving. The wells, especially the one at the bottom of the tree, collect drippings from meat. Most people use them for their turkeys.

Cataract surgery is sooo simple. I had both eyes done( on separate days). It’s outpatient, next day you get the bandage/ gauze removed. Then on to seeing a whole new world

31.20. This is an italian Espresso-Maker. It unscrews at the middle. You fill in water in the bottom part and espresso. - coffee in the middle part, and screw it tight. Then you put it on the stove. The water turns into steam and is forced through the coffee and destilles in the upper part. Is nearly as good as made with a real espresso-machine. Every household in Italy owns one. they come in small sizes for just one or two cups an bigger ones for the hole family.

I had bilateral cataracts removed at age 76. No pain. Went home right after. No complications. I could see long distances WITHOUT glasses for the first time in 70 years. Nothing short of a miracle.😂

Hi guys! The two beige pieces that you had, the little round one with the holes on the sides goes on the bottom then put the larger one on top. I had one before, you are supposed to out a small tea candle on the bottom and then put scented oil at the top big one. The candle heats up the scented oil for a pleasant experience.

The glass with the hobknobs is candlewick glass. My mom left me quite a bit of it. Fun to use for parties or on holidays.

With the spikes, it's a flower frog. Holds flowers.

I love watching your videos and love Grandma Ventures. We are about the same age and identify lots of items you youngsters have no idea about lol. Priceless. I have one problem however. I'm fairly new to you tube and I don't know how to get the follow up videos in order. It gets very confusing. Is there an easy way to figure it out? Hills Brothers (bros) is a coffee brand. They use to have commercials on TV, magazines, billboards, etc all the time. I remember it in the 70's even the 80's. It had a mani. IDK if they are still around mainly because I be don't drink it. It had a man drinking a cup of coffee wearing a caftan & a turban on his head.

I had cataract sergey a year ago. I had a pair of pants I thought they were gray after surgery found out they were light blue. No body ever told me i did not match. Lol love watching the show. Glad you are back.
