Honestly, I'd rock this thing as a daily driver. All I'd add to it is a decent pair of speakers and a bluetooth head unit.

@@alecfleming373 That's what I was thinking. A couple of small 5 1/2 in. coaxial speakers in an underseat box, maybe even replace that tool box with a custom bass tube with an 8 in. sub and a 500 watt amp. I'd definitely try to source a dashboard too.

You are right the gen 2 has the 2.3 L Ford motor like the pinto and early rangers the gen 1 had the Mazda motors they also made a 4x4 version called the Sasquatch

@@PuddinsFabShop Best way to get rid of Fire Ants is to get some of those Soda bottle cap drip Watering Spikes & put them on one litter bottles filled with Bleach then drive them into the top of the Fire Ant Hill / nest . They'll be dead in no time without the need to use harsh chemicals like bug spray or starting fluid / gas .

We had a guy on our out of town jobsite who converted the box on a cube van into camper, it had a wood stove in it lol December here in Canada and he would be parked at the grocery store with smoke coming out the chimney from the box lol 😂 didn’t have to use any of his perdiem tho, all into the bank!

@@oldpolak5203 Hopefully you weren't expecting to hear Javelin, Amx, Rebel, etc etc... That's all waaaay too rich for my blood lol. What I do have is two different Hornets and a Concord, that are mostly cobbled together with Ford parts and some stuff I stole out of an S10... When I bought my property several years ago the previous land owner left behind a '70 Hornet and an '81 Concord sitting in one of the out buildings. Neither had been on the road in 15+ years, standard "barn find" full of trash of mouse shit type stuff. The '70 Hornet is a 2 door regular coupe. It was a 232 I6/3 speed car with power nothing and 4 wheel drum brakes. It is a lovely shade of light baby shit green with a white vinyl top, it has bright green interior, with green and red plaid vinyl seats. I've been messing around with this car for like 13 years now, in it's current form it has a Ford 351w with a e303 cam, GT40 heads, a cheap ebay china-tech single plane intake, and an old Holley 750 double pumper. It has a stock T5 out of a fox body. It has a 8.8 rear end out of an Explorer, was an easy cheap way to put 3.73s, a limited slip, and disk brakes under it. Has a front disk brake swap I did using some brackets I got off an Amc forum many years ago, it uses Toyota previa rotors and Oldsmobile calipers on the stock drum brake spindles. For the master cylinder and booster I use a hydro boost setup I robbed from a SN95 mustang. I've got it all balanced pretty well using an adjustable proportioning valve and a whole lot of trial and error skidding all over my laneway. Always wanted to do the whole "sleeper" thing with it, since it literally looks like the car everyone's grandma drove when I was a kid. The 81 Concord that was sitting next to the Hornet is a much less interesting story... Its a brown 4 door wagon. It started life with the 2.5 GM iron duke and a 4 speed, it was left for dead sitting there missing the cylinder head for several years when I acquired it. A buddy of mine picked up a late 80s S10 he wanted to put a small block Chevy into. We striped down the S10 over one weekend, and the next weekend after several beers and much boredom we were putting the S10's 2.5 and t5 into the Concord... Long story short it's a boring brown station wagon with a 90hp fuel injected iron duke and a 5 speed now lol. Amc number 3 is another 2 door Hornet, a '73 hatchback. Its a lovely shade of bright neon piss yellow. It had no engine or transmission or interior when I got it, it had a decent set of wheels and tires that I needed for the Concord wagon, it also had front disk brakes which at the time I was gonna try swapping over to my other Hornet. I gave like $200 for the car, took what I wanted and left it sitting in the shed for a couple years. Then at the beginning of the pandemic I was able to buy a wrecked but still very much complete and running 60,000 mile 1993 Thunderbird SuperCoupe 5 speed for 500 bucks, didn't know what I was gonna do with it at the time but I figured I'd never find a deal like that again so I drug it home. Wasn't until I was shoving the SuperCoupe into the shed next to Hornet that it dawned on me... Was making pretty good progress carefully tearing the Thunderbird apart during the whole quarantine thing, but then I messed my shoulder up at work and haven't been able to accomplish much on it over the past few months. Hopefully at some point there will be an ugly yellow SuperCoupe swapped Hornet out running around once I'm back to 100%.

@@oldpolak5203 Can't say I blame ya, if I'd ever had a Rambler I'd want it back too. hell I'd be buying Hornets by the dozen if I could get em for 100 bucks now days. I think the whole auto auction scene of late has completely wiped out the market of anything affordable for the everyday guy to buy and build and enjoy. People thinking "oh hey that pristine restored machine that has had 5,000 hours of labor put into it just sold for $100,000, so clearly my crusty shitbox that's been sitting in this field for 40 years is worth atleast $10,000.

its your basic Pinto type engine, cam goes flat anywhere 70-100K miles, it loses a bunch of power. slip in a new cam, good to go!

Lima 2.3L/140ci engine. Based off a european 2.0, built in Lima Ohio, carbed versions are usually 88hp and have a Holly 5200 carb, or the ford emissions version. EFI versions in the 87-93 Fox bodies are 110hp. Can be bored&stroked up to a 2.8. The D-port heads are the best flowing heads compared to the earlier round and oval ports. A popular, but difficult mod is fitting a Volvo 240s 2.3 dohc head on it; involves welding and rerouting coolant passages, custom intake & exhaust. A stage2 cam and individual carbs will get it at 90hp. I still have the Offy dualport 4bll intake I was going to put on my 81 Mustang I had to sell, hoping to get another one, since it had been in the family since '93. My plan was making a Boss140 engine and faux build, since a Boss was one of few Mustang types that did not exist for the fox bodies- which probably had more trims than any other generation. GT, LX, Ghia, Base, GT350, Cobra, Cobra GT, SVO, GT Enduro, 7Up, and SSP. A stage 2 cam, header- which you could just snag from any factory Lima 2.5 Ranger would do the Yee-Haul some good. It'll still be dog slow, just a bit over Basset Hound dog slow.

@@ItsDaJax Yeah, the police cars. They were in tons of movies too. Pretty much all of the 4 door Chrysler B body cars are the same from 72-78, early ones have round headlights and different bumpers. Stuff like 75 Dodge Coronets, 76 Plymouth Fury(NOT Grand Fury) all share the body, so there are options if you keep a look out.
