This is a short tutorial on how to model a continuous beam structure with a nodal hinge in abaqus. I show the process step by step and also check whether the desired behavior was achieved by examining the resulting bending moment diagram.

Absolutely, I have a few problems on the same track, related to technical mechanics: bars, beams, joints, moments, distributed forces etc. It'll be easier if I can send it to you via email. What do you think? Is there some platform you can suggest?

Also, a small request. Once you reach the end and the simulation is complete, could you spend some more time into discussing the simulation itself? By this, I mean the reasons why it looks the way it looks. Thanks.

Great video! I am modelling slabs that are hinged together in the longitudinal direction. Is there a way that the hinge can be continous through the whole length or is the only way possible to modell the hinge to do it through nodes?
