Abathur Co-op Guide | StarCraft 2 

I love your emphasis on the biomass as Abathur. To really excel in Brutal difficulty, you kinda have to play Abathur a little differently. You had the right idea on getting brutalisks as fast as possible, but if you know the maps sufficiently well, you can actually get three of each ultimate evolution before the 10 minute mark, and really not need any other unit if you have the Symbiote Ability Improvement mastery. Again, I'll be very happy to show you the true power of Abathur if you're interested.

Just as an FYI: The point of Tunneling Horror is the buff to Swarm Hosts (Locusts), not to Roaches and Ravagers. And btw: As Essence Hoarder you drop 100% of the essence, hence hoarder. Not 50% (the base is already 50%)

At this point, I'm rewatching for the sheer entertainment with knowledge being the cherry on top. The amount of work and dedication put into this series is amazing. I've contemplated buying Abathur, but this video sealed the deal... And ended up asking my friend to buy it for me. Congratulations, you made a guy waste money for having a great video.

I remember getting Abathur from Twitch Prime back when I didn't even know StarCraft 2 Co-op even existed and it sit there for quite some time, unused. Then I decided to play Co-op and I saw this commander there along with the others I got from purchasing the campaign. Never gave it a chance because I'm not one to play as Zerg after I just finished Legacy of the Void. I really liked Artanis and his ability of warping in units anywhere. But then I played as Abathur... Loved every second of it. It's like he's an evil seller that makes you want to cackle whenever he announces a brutalisk or leviathan just got made. And using Abathur as announcer is also great. Every time he announces one of the evolutions, it's like he's saying "The cavalry is here" but in an evil and twisted way that is soo satisfying. Abathur is such a cool commander.

Abithur is the first commander I took all the way to his final prestige. I developed a reliable technique for getting double digit brutalisks by the end of a round. At any given time, I have roughly half a dozen burrowed roaches with my army. As my army advances, they move out in front, suffering few hits, rapidly healing, and gobbling all the biomass. When a few have become brutalisks, I burrow a few others to take over their job. This concentrates the biomass very well. And 10 brutalisks is simply glorious. Super tough, massive damage to everything, and insanely mobile with how often they can deep tunnel. Love it

5:38 Great explanation on what it does, but you neglect to mention it heals both your army AND your ALLY's army. This can be rather important when paired with someone like Nova who has real beef cakes of units that are really painful to lose. popping this mid-combat could save quite a lot of mineral expense for your partner in addition to your own. Remember, the benefit is not always as obvious as "what can this do for me?"

Great guide as always, I recently started maining Abathur after I got mad at nova P3 and I absolutely love him style, one bad thing is that ravagers seems to solve everything, I tried building devourers army or vipers against air but ravagers are still the best and most cost efficient.

The higher-level abathur players seem to put a few points into toxic nest damage (and then the rest into mend) in order to one-shot certain opponents fyi They also use the nests very strategically to farm biomass very early- i've seen videos where they make a spore crawler to kite the enemies into the nests - it's tankier and quicker to spawn than doing it with a roach. Even if you don't do that, in the early game you should always farm biomass with nests because they increase the amount of biomass dropped. (They don't have to get the kill, just have to damage the unit)

Level 876 Abathur One Trick Pony here, your power sets are wrong. First set Toxic Nest Damage is generally the better choice for an all-round build. Since Queens can fill the role of healing with Abathur, all points should be added to Toxic Nest Damage, remember abathur NEEDS to get a brutalisk fast, and the fastest way is to lure the first wave into toxic nests, this strategy is also way more efficient than the second power set. Second set By playing efficiently with toxic nests, biomass should never be a problem. Biomass is critical at the early stages in the game as you get your Ultimate Evolutions out, but with effective usage of Toxic Nests you should have more than enough biomass to get your first Ultimate Evolution which snowballs HARD if you have the Symbiote power set points allocated. The third set looks good to me, more than 10 points into toxic nests is an overkill as they spawn quick enough for their early game usefulness.

11:33 Vipers are seriously good, but they're used pretty much when you feel like your brutalisks won't survive the attack wave, even then you make like 2-3 of them, really a support unit meant to deny dmg. Parasitic bomb is good but you have ravagers which are cheaper and easier to use so it's really about that yoink and green goop, said green goop works on ground hybrids so they can't even slap your roaches.

Increase Mend Duration, Double Biomass Chance, Structure Morph and Evolution Rate, all in. Go Essence Hoarder at level 7 iirc. Build mostly Mutas, with Roaches functioning as an expendable wall. Your creatures that already heal exceedingly fast outside of combat now have backup healing to be used mid combat that will last for longer than the actual fight. You get double the biomass, and 100% chance any unit that does will drop what they have for the others to pick up. Most importantly, your structures and upgrades are researched super quickly. You now deal 125% more damage to three targets and then thanks to your final ability, heal 125% of that. The only way your Mutalisks are dying is if something was going to one shot at, and in doing so any other unit now becomes just as strong. You will out damaged, outpaced, and out live your enemy. Go my oversized swarm, roll over the enemy!

Hey, I was watching your videos of the last commanders in coop mode and you said you will stop making videos after that and that would be the end of the channel. If you are still able to make them, then I can give ideas. I would be really interested to know if you can make videos where you can show which two commanders played together is a more effect strategy and when paired together can be deadly. Or another video idea might be where you compare commanders of the same faction together in one video or commanders of different factions. For e.g Dehaka vs Abathur or Alarak vs Mengsk.
