Frida has such a lovely and bright air about her, truly rare. She's so classy and elegant in the way she expresses and carries herself. What a treasure.
And now Frida has lost her grandson too. Jonathan died of cancer last October. Poor Frida just can't get a break in her personal tradgedies. Our thoughts and prayers are with you 🙏. RIP Jonathan
Wow what an INSIGHTFUL and INTERESTING SPEECH by Benny, and a speech from the heart from Frida!!!.... sometimes it's nice to get a more serious speech where the speaker doesn't feel as if they have to be entertaining or funny as such....that they can just say what is in their heart.... For that I'm very grateful to have got to listen, to both Benny AND Frida's wonderful speeches....I've definitely learnt a few fascinating things I knew nothing of before....about the culture, both in general and during the 50's and 60's, of Sweden, and what it was like to live there at that time....and about the background and influences of ABBA itself!!!! Thank you Benny and Frida, and Bjorn and Agnetha....and Thank you for the music!!!! Love to and God bless all of you, from a lifelong fan!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Colin
Dear Frida, you have loved and lost, starting with your own dear mother. Your emotion comes through in your voice when you sing, and shows in your beautiful eyes. When your eyes have tears flowing, it touches my heart, and I want to hold you.
Lynda what beautiful words and exactly my sentiments,Frida is a beautiful lady and you captured everything about her in your comments so I say to you well said and God Bless you
I’m so glad that the band members were honored with induction into the hall of fame and they got a chance to experience it. If you grew up in the 70’s, you know that it was mandatory to hear ABBA music playing on the radio. Dancing queen, SOS, Take a chance on me,....songs that are so memorable, you will never forget them.
He is...*LOL*...At Stockholm University...or, he was. He's 74 years old now, so he might be semi-retired. I'm guessing he still is an adjunct professor. He also still has a band...the Benny Andersson Orchestra.
they are very worthy winners, i have been an abba fan since i was 2 years old and think they deserve to be in the rock and roll hall of fame, well done Abba your music will live forever xx
Fantastica Frida .. non mi stanchero' mai di riconoscere la tua simpatia , la bravura ,e la tua bellezza ....! Una vera Principessa . I love you Frida ❤
Her voice has been growing so brighter over age, completely round and smooth without any roughness. Even though we could not find any chemistry left between them and they went separately after the ceremony, but here they spoke and stood by each other in such silent sync that we have to look at them as one. Believe me, one forever.
Anyone who ever argued that ABBA didn't deserve this induction is an idiot and an ignorant. Their music will live on forever. Rock and roll comes in many shades.
What an interesting point Benny is making. That time out of the mainstream meant that the members of ABBA were exposed to a far broader range of music than people who were "in" the mainstream. Maybe there's a lesson in that for all creative people in the Internet era....
Best wishes for the four of you. You are wonderful. It is a great pleasure to watch you again and to hear from you. I have watched all your vídeos on the Internet again and again.I beber Gent tired
The way Benny past in front of her at the beggining... Not very polite from you B. Buuut..he try to take her by the waist or her hand...so cute. But anyway Frida is the most elegant and classy lady in the world. So gentle and sweet...i ADORE her!! 🥰🥰 ABBA desserve all the awards and reconnition of the world. They make us happy every single time we hear any of their song so THANK YOU!! 🥰🥰
Yeah it was fascinating, really interesting to hear Benny's account of ABBA's musical background and inspirations.....who would have thought, ONE radio station with just ONE programme to listen to...and that playing hardly any western music?? It's hard to believe......
One day, a few years ago, one of my granddaughters, who was 5 years old at the time, was hanging out with me. I turned on my list of favorite songs with video, on RU-vid. The second song/video to play was Dancing Queen. My granddaughter said “Hey those girls are singing the Mamma Mia song.” It took me awhile to explain that those “girls” along with the guys in the video are the original singers. Now she is a fan of all of their songs.
Хороша женщина что в молодости что сейчас молодец всегда правильно себя ведёт спокойно красиво за это её любили и будут любить желаю этой прекрасной Королеве здоровья и Божией помощи во всех её делах
ABBA.. really is one of the most unique pop/rock bands in history. There is a romance and ethereal quality about their music which is deep and must stem simply from love. And despite rivalry and egos and sexism I think the love prevailed. In the music and in them though eventually they went their separate ways. A youthful, piercing beauty there music reminds me of the good feeling of the 70s despite much darkness and the ebbing tide of chivalry.
4:08-4:12 It Shows That There Are Those In The Heavy Metal And Alternative Genre That Hold Abba In High Esteem People Like Alice Cooper To Lemmy From Motorhead Even Kurt Cobain Loved Abba
ABBA/Polar Music Team: Stikkan 'Stig' Anderson Gorel Johnsen-Hanser Anni-Frid Lyngstad Benny Andersson Bjorn Ulveras Agnetha Falkskog Rutger Gunnarsson Michael B Tretow & ABBA's loyal top rank session/touring musicians. They were self contained. They did everything themselves. They had no corporate music industry puppeteers or overlords. All the major American and British bands were controlled by varying degrees by major corporate record label.
Who could dream what was going to happen in 2021...abba came back into our lives with a bang....after a new album and the fantastic new voyage concert in London, they are more popular than ever...the world is suddenly a brighter place....
Not at all. People familiar with Frida know she was a blonde first, then dark brown 60's, then sandy blonde early ABBA (72-74), then dark brown (75-76), then red (77). Then dark brown (78-80). Then red late '81-82. Then sandy blonde late 80's into 90's. Since 2000 she has mostly been blondish: sandy blonde to very blonde. She is known for her different hair styles and colors.
No wonder they were inducted in the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 in New York, sadly Bjorn & Agnetha did not make it. . .They were one of the biggest Swedish musical pop group in the 70's that was able to carved their place in music history.
I'm so happy for ABBA and I just think that the world who have been against ABBA should apologize for their own actions and just maybe one day it will happen before say 2030
Frida was still gorgeous. Maybe more than ever! Wish Bjorn and Agnetha were there. I’m surprised that Bjorn didn’t attend, but he probably didn’t want Agnetha to be the only no-show for the event, which was very thoughtful of him.
I think it's such a shame that bands can't put aside their personal or business differences for just one night for what is surely the pinnacle of recognition of their musical career. Paul with the Beatles, John with Queen, Eddie with Van Halen to name but three. Very sad indeed.
Paul Aylett Agnetha probably didn't go to the induction because she's terrified of flying. I am not sure why Björn didn't go. It seems that they are mainly cordial to one another... Benny, Björn and Frida have appeared together, Frida and Agnetha have appeared together a few times... but I think they just feel they don't want to perform together anymore.. they feel their music and image is youthful and they don't want to "tarnish" that image. It's a bummer because I think they'd still be amazing at any age... clearly Frida and Agnetha can still sing well and there's nothing stopping the men from playing guitar and keyboards, but I suppose they don't "owe" us a reunion.
@@graphiquejack Yes. Agnetha is very terrified. Agnetha and Frida still are good friends. But you know what? There are going to be two or more new songs of ABBA. They are coming out in 2020. I think end 2019 or beginning 2020. So maybe we'll see them then together in an interview again or something like that.😍😍.
The flight from Stockholm to NY is quite long if you’re terrified of flying and shy of publicity to boot. Björn was probably tied up in one of the auxiliary projects, a musical or maybe the Mama Mia movie. He was always more hands on for those. The four members are friends though and have appeared together in other situations.
@@MariaEduarda-nv5flAlso, these two are the right two to represent ABBA if all four could not be there. Benny being ABBA's musical motor/lead music composer and Frida with her stellar reputation among her music peers. Frida also, is the right person to acknowledge Stig Anderson. The other three had some issues with Stig. But all was worked out and settled before he died in 1997. It was important to acknowledge Stig and only Frida could do it because of her closeness with him and his entire family. They loved Frida.
They basicilly waited so long they might have died of age related illnesses -,3 of them in the mid 60's .I guess RRHOF didnt want to be the One who did not award them before some of them had died . Some of RR choises are just jokes.
These 2 are the professional ones. Agnetha and Bjorn can never be seen together again after the band split. It shows how hurt bjorn and agnetha is and still have hated towards each other and the pain is still there between them. Frida and Benny have divorce in a good and calm manner. that's why they can still stand beside each other and be professional in regards of the band. Love them both. From asia
No doubt there was pain from the divorces. But time does heal. This group has always been classy and in all these years have never had harsh words to say of each other. They all get on just fine.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LMLBji4DoWM.html
Agnetha and Bjorn worked together for years after their divorce and made several albums plus the North American tour. After Benny and Fridas divorce they made 1 album and no tours!
Benny cheated on Frida and dumped her when he got his mistress pregnant. I think the divorce was very painful for them. And it’s all moot because they have recorded a new album together as a group and it should be coming out soon. They have managed to move beyond the pain and work together and it’s very exciting
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Typical American arrogance. Many Americans missed on ABBA. The rest of the world did not. Americans started to come around in the 90's as all the rockers of the 70's started to heap praise on ABBA. The demo in America who were ignorant regarding ABBA: young males. Many were easily brainwashed. Many Americans were very very very ignorant when it came to ABBA. Remember? ABBA was a flash. Would not last. A couple hits and their gone forever. A bubblegum band. Really simple music. Many Americans didn't understand melody, counter melodies, counter point, harmony and the multiple layers of ABBA's music. The complex arrangements. The mixing of minor chords with upbeat feel and sad lyrics. The smiling through tears, melancholy effect that comes living that far north. Don't ever forget the disrespect of the many Americans. America needed ABBA. ABBA did not need America. It that how it has turned out, decades later. ABBA still popular and America catching up with the world. The entire world knew ABBA were iconic. The Americans, namely, young males, did not ecognize the super high level of musicality musicianship and professionalism of ABBA until they got older and matured a bit.
