After all these years I didn’t know she lost her daughter! She had her children so young (Pre ABBA) as did I but not that young I’m 60 now. If I lost any of my children, even though they are 41,38, and 35 I cannot imagine the pain, and she’s so sensitive, she still cares about her fans. What a wonderful woman.
I love this interview, don’t get me wrong, and I love his work! But I feel as though he doesn’t respond very well to all the important stuff she says about herself, and her life. Like the writing, the ecology she is VERY amazed by, the pennies she would collect from Norway, and the story about the fan that passed away in the end. All these little things, are important to her life. It might be a time or script issue, but I just wish she’d know how much she’s appreciated as a human being. She went through so much in her life. She is deeply admired. She is inspiring.
It seems he had to fit in this interview within a tight timeframe, which is unfortunate. Still I amazed how personal she got in her replies. A remarkable woman.
I agree. She tells him this wonderfully inspiring story about her interaction with a fan who had been through so much, and then he simply thanks her for the interview. Maybe there's some editing involved, but it just feels clunky and inappropriate.
Yes, this could have been a way more interesting interview. But I don't know if it's Skavlan or it's the format of the show, I think the latter, but it's still a shame. She's so interesting and articulate.
What a sensitive and tactful woman. I think her personal losses in life made her a better human being. She is the mother figure every child is dreaming of. Love her to bits.
Come on Skavlan, at least say "what a touching story.." or "that's so sad to hear". Don't just say "thank you very much for coming" after she shares such a heart-touching story with you.
As an 11 year old in England I grew up adoring ABBA. 44 years later this interview revives memories of why. The purity of their talents. This was a charming interview. Thank you!
Great interview, Frida was the outgoing one, laughing, smiling having fun. Not surprised she designs clothes now, that amazing (fox?) coat she had. I totally understand the need to be in the mountains, and tight knit community. So much love to her and family, from Oregon since Waterloo 1974
As a very young adult singer, she was quite introverted. While, I have nothing against Agnetha and she was a very lovely lady, Frida never got quite the same attention. Frida was every bit as beautiful and certainly as fine a singer. She started singing in her teens, sang in bands and then graduated to television shows, then recorded albums. She modeled, designed clothes and even had a small part in a motion picture. (See some of her early professional photos and one realizes how beautiful she was as a young lady.) She probably was the most experienced of all the ABBA musicians. She had been married early on, then divorced. Later, she met and married Benny till their divorce, during which time they took in her children. Then she married into Swedish royalty till her husband passed from cancer. Now she lives with a male entrepreneur. She is worth millions, is very athletic and works on behalf of a number of philanthropies. She is a most interesting lady.
Elizabeth Ruocco , boa tarde. Embora eu admire as duas rainhas do "pop music", Agnetha e Frida, a Frida está muito jovem nessa entrevista! De toda forma, a entrevista com Agnetha traz também uma "garota" com sorriso fácil e sinceridade emotiva! (Text in portuguese) Waston Ribeiro - Brasil
That was a very moving story! I absolutely adore each member of ABBA. I have recently “rediscovered them!!! What an adventure!!! I feast upon all their recorded performances, and the lovely fan comments! When I was younger in the 70s and they were popular, all I knew was an album cover! I did not know their individual names nor anything about them! Of course there was no RU-vid! I lived in Spain, and my friends teen age sons had an album!, we did not have English TV then! So this past six weeks it has been such a complete joy to revel among them!! Frida was drop dead gorgeous! Today she is gracious and well spoken, and still a beauty! I am now overcome with OCAD!! Obsessive compulsive ABBA disorder! I don’t suffer from it, but I enjoy every minute of it!
Somewhere someone called Agnetha the pretty one, which I don't get. Both of these girls were absolutly gorgous. This gal was and is second to none. Just different looks is all.
She is still very beautiful Frida! To sad to her about how she lost her daughter and the hardship with having a German soldier as a father. The mainstream media been writing the bullshit headlines like "ABBA Fridas father was a NAZI"! So ridiculous! Her father was a ordinary conscription soldier in the German Wehrmacht and NOT a Gestapo officer or SS soldier!
Have watched both parts, she really a lovely, kind and soft spoken person, i really enjoy watching it, hope to see all four of them gathered together in your show, considering that now they have all been reunited, definitely it would be delightful moments to everyone. Thank you.
Thank you for this interview Mr. Skavlan. And thank you for the subtitles. You now have fans around the world. You are probably the only person to interview all four Abba members at this point in their lives. The only question, why is the interview so short. It ended a bit abruptly after 15 minutes or so. With her stature I would have liked the interview to go on for the hour. Michael in Canada
mike hamilton , boa tarde. 😉😉 (Text in portuguese) Waston Ribeiro - Brasil
IfI were ever to be interviewed, this is the man I would hope to do it. He is so kind and thoughtful and honest. He brings out the real person in front of him.
Anni Frid Synni Lyngstad My Singer Favorite by ABBA & Is My Group Favorite Of ABBA My ❤💕❤❤❤With All my Love A kiss very Strong.I Love very Many ABBA🎤📺😘😙😚😍😗💋
Couldn't understand much of what was being said but heard rough translations. Looked a great show with a excellent mixture of guests. Great news that she will feature on a song this December and a chance of a autobiography too. What a life story she's had.
Despite the sadness in her private life, she seems to be the one that coped with with fame and the aftermath of ABBA pretty well, moving away, doing other things with her life, but being willing to represent them many times over the years when Agnetha wouldn't, without ever appearing to crave attention.
She was the only one who really felt most comfortable (and in fact quite enjoyed) being on stage and the fandom. She's always been the one most eager for an Abba reunion.
Yeah I think the same, they became bigger throughout the years and maybe the 4 of them didn't want that, maybe the wanted to just leave it in the past, but instead they are legends. I admire Frida amongst all of the them, because she has always been proud of the success ABBA reached and has represented the group throughout the almost 50-40 years of ABBA
(Text in portuguese) Waston Ribeiro (Brasil)
The interview abruptly ends as she finishes talking about the man who had lung cancer. The interviewer doesn't even comment on the story she speaks of. Very strange way to end an interview.
Very impressed with the interviews, saw them some years ago but with the new records out, well you know how it is, could you imagine this on Graham Norton, no not really, but you get a feel for the person here.
Such a class act woman, this interview seemed so rushed though, and the interviewer's reactions to her responses felt so dismissive, no tact in the least, as a major in mass communications and journalism I'm utterly in awe.
pts, boa tarde. Se vc já conseguiu o endereço ou contato de Frida, seria possível me enviar? Grato pela atenção. (Text in portuguese) Waston Ribeiro (Brasil)
What a weird and horrible way to end the interview after that moving story of the fan who died of cancer. It deserved some discussion, not to be cut off that way.
