Apparently for the first time in 40 years, ABBA has just been in the studio to record some new music When I see your reaction it’s no wonder that ABBA became such a huge name in music. Priceless as allways.
@@TheCornishCockney I’m not familiar with Dozens of Them. Can you hum it. Yes, the Beatles created some masterpieces, particularly after their early years, but I said ‘best pop song’ and I don’t think the Beatles greatest tracks were universally regarded as ‘pop’ songs. Their music was ground shattering and contemporary, but ABBA unashamedly just wanted to produce great pop music. Dancing Queen was their best pop song and in that respect, probably the best pop song ever recorded.
ABBA was a Swedish band that sold 400 million records (as of wikipedia 2006) worldwide. Until now, the members of the band have refused to perform again as a complete group, although they were promised 2 billion in fees /the assets of the group already amounted to $ 900 million in 2006 (each member about § 225 million). Currently (September 2021) there is a rumor that they will get together again and perform. How this goes on and ends - we will see.
Iconic song of the disco era of the1970. The 1970s was the time when kids & young teenagers joined in the music fan base. It started with Glam Rock mainly in Britain, then came Disco music.
I'm sure you have a wide-ranging taste in music. Now let's put it to the test. Try the Post Modern Jukebox Jazz style version of this, featuring Gunhild Carling. It is just really fun, and hopefully it will make that lovely smile of yours even more radiant. :-) PMJ do a LOT of modern well known songs and put them into different styles, from 20s jazz, through blues, big band, soul, gospel, etc. However, I must warn you that if you start to investigate PMJ, you may find yourself on that channel for hours..... the voice of experience speaks!
yeah ur rite, it was a huge hit, huge band in v 70s n 80- my time, yeah itsa about a teen nympho going out 2 clubs 2 get casual sex, most dnt know it as vey dnt listen 2 v lyrics. cheers frm way dwn sth. yeah 70s was kinda mre happy van nowadays-sigh!
Much of the "ABBA-sound" is connected to Michael B. Tretow who was the audio-engineer on all their albums. Björn and Benny also wrote a musical - Chess. I think you would like "Anthem". (I would suggest "Anthem from Chess The Musical (Tommy Körberg) Polar Studios original 1984").
"Funny, but, I associate this song with my visit to Africa back in the 70's when it came out. I was in Mombasa, Kenya. I was in a bar when I also heard "Daddy Cool" by Boney M for the only time in my life until now with the internet, You look so beautiful. I knew you would like ABBA.
A transatlantic pop smash that even caught on (temporarily) in the United States. Their inspiration was George McCrae's ground-breaking 'Rock you Baby' a couple of years earlier, that arguably stated the disco boom of the 1970s. But being of a European persuasion, it became pop turned classical music. And so it remains.
1999 ABBA (Agneta, Benny, Björn, Annifrid) was offered $1 billion to reunite for 1 tour, starting by playing their famous "Happy New Year" on the millennium new years eve... They said thanks, but no thanks :)
Great reaction Empress! Loved your dance moves! Love to see you react to the video of Smooth by Santana featuring Rob Thomas. It will definitely get you dancing. 💃🏾💃🏾

@@mauriciorobsonrusso8929 what you're doing is reducing her societal value to the sum of her looks. I noticed you didnt compliment her reaction vid or her channel or her intellect, why not? And it's still pretty creepy to do on a public bulletin board.
