I love how Paul at first crossed in sandals, then decided to take them off for the final photo. That action became more significant than he would realise.
@@tutipicousuariodeyoutube Ngl, based from the blueprint at the beginning, I feel like they planned all of it. You know how The Beatles get a laugh off of everything especially the clue hunters.

Billy Boy: There is no "best music there will ever be" since it's all a matter of opinion. But, truly, there were those that came before the Beatles that were quite amazing, not to mention that those that emerged during and right after (from Mozart, Haydn and Bach to the Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and TONS/LOTS more). And, usually, one's most creative time in one's life is prior to age 30 (Einstein, etc.).
Andrew Galloway Yes !!! I always think of that when I see the Abbey Road shoots. The Beatles averaged 27 y.o. when they recorded the Abbey Road album ... that’s mind boggling to me - consider 27 as a measuring tally for any human/personal achievement !!! It’s at the same time encouraging as it is depressing!!! Hahaha
Notice how ordinary it all is ... everyday English people (granny in purple) coming up and saying hello. No panic from the boys, just smiles and good cheer. All very suburban.
They shook the world on its axis and it's still shaking !! This is 01/19/20 and I doubt a day has gone by without thinking of something Beatles...I've had a love affair with these guys since Ed Sullivan and I'm completely heterosexual. I could hug and kiss them all a thousand times for what they brought to my life; the melodies, the words, the hair, the boots, the fashion styles, the movies, the humor, the originality, the kindness, the faces, the intelligence, the peace and love. That was the first place I visited when I went to London - Abbey Road studios, I along with other tourists were walking across that street getting photos taken.. what really struck me was how nice, polite and patient the local Brits were driving by. No honking horns to get out of the way or yelling at the tourists. They just patiently stopped and waited for the tourists to finish taking their photos . This was the end of 1999 so I don't know what it is like there today, I don't remember there being a stop light there so kudos to the locals there, they were very nice!
I agree with you. And the most impressive illusion they sold to their public is that Fab four and "Billy Shears" with "Fab...fab three" is the same band.
Ölsk Zeri you have no idea what you are talking about. You just want attention. Stop acting like a prideful five year old who rode a bicycle for the first time.
Let’s tell Paul we all should come to the outdoor photo shoot without our shoes, but Paul will be the only one crossing barefoot, which will cause him to burn his feet on the street baked in the hot summer sun. Ouch ouch ouch!
I don’t use the word “old”. In these photos they appear to look more mature. In this photo shoot John Lennon’s full beard and long hair create a manly vibe to express the masculinity of an adult man. Go forward in time and see John Lennon playing ‘Imagine’ with Yoko Ono sitting beside him, where his shorter hair style & clean shaven face give him boyish look.
I think all the political things and the Fbi watching him was exhausting and the drug he was doing was time for a change and was reflected in his writing in that last as album.
It's strange to see the shots of them walking towards the studio. Thankfully, they chose walking away, as they were leaving that life behind. Beatles forever.
THEY WERE AND STILL ARE THE VERY BEST OF OUR GENERATION! NO GENERATION SINCE HAS EVEN COME CLOSE TO PRODUCING ANYONE, MUCH LESS, FOUR PEOPLE AT THIS LEVEL OF GREATNESS. I AM GREATFUL, HUMBLED AND PROUD TO HAVE BEEN AT THE PERFECT AGE TO HAVE HEARD THESE SONGS WHEN THEY FIRST WERE RELEASED!
Agree 1000%! Our generation has been very fortunate (I even feel blessed) that we lived during The Beatles, the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s music. We’ve seen and heard some of the absolute greats. Great comment Liam. 🤘
@@poetsdreamsatc Thanks. Even more so these days. There is no more good new music just old stuff I never heard before. I just got turned on to the Easybeats, I never heard them back in the sixties.
Four young lads from Liverpool, that shook the world will never ever be surpassed!!!! We will all be gone one day, but The Beatles will never be forgotten because they were and even to this day ARE THE BEST BAND on the planet🌎. ⭐LONG LIVE THE BEATLES⭐. Peace and Love✌💝
I was lucky enough to be at their first of two shows on September 3, 1964 when they performed at the Indiana State Fair. There are several videos of that show here on RU-vid for the searching. I was only 6 at the time, but had two older sisters and EVERYTHING was “Beatles.” I can also remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan show. It was a magical time. Even as huge as the boys in BTS have become, even as massive as Taylor Swift is on her current “Eras” tour, the Beatles are in an entirely different universe. People forget how SHORT their run was - and without trying to start a row with purists over dates, depending on which event you choose to mark the “beginning” of the band, they made all of that music between (approximately) 1960 to 1970. Roughly ten years covers everything we know as “The Beatles.”
I was a kid in the 60s. Our next door neighbours were a very musical family singing in bands and had guitars etc. ,sometimes on summer days they would set the gear up in the back garden and play hits of the time. I even did a bit of singing! Brilliant times❤
To you the videocreator: a big THANK YOU for allowing free speech and handling your channel seriously. I really mean that. I know that you 100 procent disagree with my stance but you still allowed me to make comments on your video. BIG respect to you!
Quite an incredible life 'The Beatles' had, they were nearly finished, yet had made history, lived 20 lifetimes, and not one of them was even 30 years old yet.....
In 1972 I was able to park my white VW on the sidewalk and took a picture of the crossing. Decades later, my wife took the picture without my knowledge, had it blown up to a large one and mounted in a nice frame. She gave it to me for a Christmas present. I love that picture.
Do not be silly. The photo was about to reflect a "funeral scene" not having a japanesse lady steal all the focus from the band. I am sorry but so many of you normie Beatles fans are totally CLUELESS.
Ölsk Zeri - The funeral scene is something fans came up with after the fact. This was a simple photo shoot of the band walking across the damn street and nothing more.
@@crusheverything4449 don't know, never thought of this but maybe they were portraying their final album and death or end of the beatles. They were clearly dressed to emulate funeral participants, maybe coincidentally but you have the preacher, the mourner, the undertaker and the dead one each dressed the part.
Dave April - At the time of recording Abbey Road, The Beatles were unsure if it would be their last album. While I do believe they planted a lot of Paul is dead clues, I think there were many that were coincidental and the funeral thing is one of them, as far as I’m concerned, based on having read every major Beatles book of the last fifty years.
Nein. Sie haben nur geile Mucke gemacht. Daß alles perfekt war, ist ein Geschenk des Himmels. Die besten Musiker seit Beethoven - hat jemand über die Beatles geschrieben. ❤
Yes-ish. They also knew this was their last album as The Beatles. And they knew that was very special. Paul and to a lesser extent Ringo in these outtakes from the photo shoot seem to most realize it.
Wow Wee. Wee Such Beautiful Music Playing During this Amazing Documentary of The One and only Beatles with Their Down to Earth Personalities and Handsome Selves Woo Wee I love me Some Beatles
This whole event looks so down to earth a crossing and four men who would have thought 52 years 8 th August we all cross that iconic crossing in their honour thanks for the music and your sense of humour 🎸🎸🎸🥁
My Mom was/ is a huge Beatles fan. She was fortunate to have seen them in concert twice. She still has the photos. I too am a huge Beatles fan. I can't imagine life without them. I was only six when John was killed. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a balmy, rainy night. We were driving home from the mall. It was just about dark and my Mom turned on the radio. The DJ was talking about John being killed and then Imagine started playing. My Mom started crying. Being only six at the time I asked her why she was crying. She told me that a man who made the music playing on the radio was shot while walking down the street on his way home in NY. I'll never forget that moment. I did not really start appreciating the Beatles until the 5th grade. That said, I felt the gravity of what had happened even before really understanding who John Lennon and the Beatles were. There was a palpable heaviness in the air in that moment. For a period of time in the 80's my Mom owned a one hour photo. Many of her customers were professional photographers. One day one of them came in with a roll of film. On it were photos of John Lennon very shortly before he died. My Mom asked the woman if she could make an extra copy of one of them for me. The woman was kind enough to agree. I have this photo framed next to my bed. I've never seen this photo in any publication so I'm guessing that it was something the woman kept private. In the photo John is wearing his blue jean jacket with the fur color. He has on his granny glasses and a dark plaid shirt. His hair is the style he was wearing right before he was killed. If I had to guess I'd say the picture is from somewhere between mid Oct to late Nov. or the first week of Dec. 1980. I do not cherish much in the material world. This photo and the magic I feel from the Beatles and their music is one of the few things. Some people say the Beatles are "over rated". I don't agree. If anything they are under rated. We mortals will never grasp or fully comprehend the magnitude of what they achieved.
In just 14 days after these Abbey Road photographs were taken, the 4 Beatles met at John's estate for a photo shoot. After that day, All 4 Beatles were Never again to be together in the same place.
Your absolutely right! The photos taken John's estate were the last Beatles pictures taken together sometime August 1969, just around 7 years to the day after Ringo joined the band.
Frank Zappa hated hippies so did Ian Anderson Jethro Tull- Me too- One time i was at a Grateful Dead show, so there i was looking like Elvis or John Lenon on Meet The Beatles with my hair slicked back tight Jeans white t shirt looking like a cool rock n roller Rockabilly style and i had all these smelly hippies with their dirty feet saying Give Me Drugs and the Dead were on downers that night every song was slow and took 50 minutes to do except the drum solo that went on for ever yuk
@@profd65 I actually care in that I enjoy most everyone's stories about their past, their feelings, etc. EVERY story may be worth telling if told in the right way. Shutting people down is not good.
Hi Bill. You are aware that your namesake Bill is on this photo ? I honestly think Revolver is the best album made by the REAL Fab four. But Abbey Road is one of the better albums during the "Billy Shears" era Beatles.
Yes, indeed it is! All Beatles albums are... well... you know what they are!... But "Abbey Road"? To me, there is only one thing wrong in it - "Octopus´s Garden"! All the rest? Perfection!!! Especially the "Medley"! Sheer beauty!!! Those last 52 seconds of "The End"??? No other album has something comparable!!! - the closest is "A day in the life"...
@@jimmycampbell78 John's song "Cold Turkey" is nothing but pain. John said he wanted to let people know what it was like to go through that so they would not have to. John did withdraw cold turkey, I don't know if Yoko was with him when he did or if he just sequestered himself some place. Its funny (really not funny) but when I was young I never put 2 and 2 together with John..... but I was never exposed to those sorts of drugs. Like everyone my age, I did some weed and a little hash but that was it. Everyone knew that by Sgt. Pepper John was dropping acid pretty heavily and Paul and George had tried it. Ringo never did. And when you listen to Ringo's drumming it shows - Ringo IS a human metronome - you can't do that stoned. It seems that no mater what it was, John always took it to the next level - just his personality and I think the fact that he was burying so much pain inside him all the way back to his mum being killed (run over by the drunken cop). Peace and Love!
Rubbish there's only two good songs on that Album! Pink Floyd, Supertramp, The smiths, Fleetwood mac and a lot more English bands are ten times better than the Beatles and you know it! The only decent thing about that Album is "here comes the sun" and "something" plus the cover photograph 📸
@@chrissygerwitz520 And its very obvious John and Paul are chatting about something on the EMI steps - they really were all still mates - even George. Peace and Love!
Chrissy Gerwitz - He’s the sad, pathetic kind who uses The Beatles’ fame to garner attention for himself, so he can feel like there’s a valid reason to exist.
Love that pic at 1:18 and the one of George sitting on the wall god what a different world. Imagine the crowds that would be there now, one post of social media and the world would be there. It always amazed me just how old Lennon looked with that beard.

Villaboy Awright!! My kind of guy! (I’m guessing.) You’ve no doubt seen Paul in Carpool Karaoke w/James Corden? (It is *awesome*, BTW!) Now that we’ve seen Paul (quite grandly) autograph a sign on Penny Lane, I’d go searching for it as well, after hanging out at “The Crosswalk” - not sure what the Brits (and Aussies) call it. Cheers!
WOW.this is just amazing how the concept for what would become the iconic album cover for the most influential band in music history came to be.God bless JOHN LENNON, PAUL McCARTNEY, GEORGE HARRISON and RINGO STARR.
Many years ago when my wife and I visited London, I told her I had to do the walk across Abbey Road. When we arrived I was quite surprised at how busy the road actually is. I had to wait a bit until I saw there wasn't any nearby traffic going thru. But there were also plenty of idiots who thought it was their God-given right to cross it, oncoming traffic be damned. A lot of cars honking that day.
I lived on Abbey Gardens in 1991 just around the corner. Everyday the walls outside were painted over as tourists and Beatles fans would sign their names regularly. I also love the Beatles madly so that was good times.
I've been a fan of the Beatles for about as long as I can remember, yet somehow never saw any of the photos other than the one they wound up using for the album cover. I love how a few random passersby appear in some of the shots. The word "iconic" tends to be vastly overused, but those people in the background had no way of knowing they were witnessing one of the most iconic photoshoots in pop culture history. Thanks so much for posting!
According to the Beatles Channel, as the album Abby Road was being recorded they were going to call it Everest but then started discussing all the logistics of getting everyone who would be involved in taking pictures of the Fab Four to a place where Everest would be seen behind them, and they reconsidered and started to discuss other titles and photos when someone said, Hey lets call it Abby Road and go outside and take the pictures. Everyone like that idea so here we see the results of not going to Everest!
Even though a lot of things will be forgotten, these 4 lads from Liverpool who've changed the music world forever will never be. Don't believe me? When you look up "best selling music artists 2020" the Beatles are at the very top, still remaining in first place, with Elvis in second place, and Michael Jackson in third.
Not sure what I just watched....I have to look into the story of these photos. It is a real treat to see them. Looking at the photos I realized that it was just more magic that each Beatle was dressed so differently. As Paul slipped off the sandals ; a detail only an experienced photographer would notice during the moment, until later when a world would look on catching every bit of Magic.
Everlasting. Whoever lived it, lived it. Those who have not lived will never live and do not know the nature and meaning of those days. God save the Beatles and everything and everyone who orbited that 1968 sun. God save the generation of 50s and 60s who, with roses in their hands, extraordinary songs, short skirts, long hair and rebellious ideas avoided World War 3
This is so frakkin' cool! To see these photos of the lads in their natural environment... A. Remember when they were just four lads with mop tops? B. Paul doing his best Bill Bailey impersonation... C. the old lady propbably telling them what nice boys they are AND that she has all their original singles and albums.
Amazing pictures! They all look superb!!! SO much fun! And thanks a lot for Because backing track, I sang along while watching the photos - great experience!
I have a pic of me walking across that same crosswalk. People come from around the world for that pic. I met 2 guys from Holland and a lady from Japan looking for the same crosswalk. You have to stand in the middle of the road to get the shot, and cars have to stop and wait, but no one blows their horn or yells. They patiently wait for the pic to be taken. Its been a daily thing there for decades and they're used to it. classic.
First Record Twist and Shout I was eleven how I miss doing my homework to their music. It was a peaceful revolution from strict education. Drugs sadly took over and ruined everything.
Four geniuses in one band. It's unique. You can't write any of them off. Even Ringo with his 2003 Ringo Rama. Genius. John did most and went on longest doing great stuff. Until he died in 1980. Both McCartney and Harrison lost momentum a couple of years after breaking up. Still all of them are fantastic.
They literally changed the entire world. There will never be anything that can top the Beatles. Yes, there is some great amazing music before and after the Beatles but nothing can and will ever match the Beatles music and their lasting influence they had over our entire planet.
Yeah, because of our earlier interactions i am not surprised by this la la-land comment. This not a cute photosession how much you ever want it to be. William as "Paul McCartney" is playing "the corpse". It IS a funeral scene. You may think this is cute and "Fab four", but this is "Billy Shears" with "Fab three". Being so naive that you are, you will not be able to handle the secret that Heather Mills hinted would make people D E V E S T A T E D.
By 1969, they were far from the fresh faced lads from Liverpool that upset the Western world because their hair was over their ears. John has his apostle-length beard and hair. George and Ringo have followed suit. Paul, in a show of individuality, is clean-shaven and is recognizable as the man who would light up the charts with his band Wings in the decade to come. This is my favorite album and look for them.
