And I can use Barbara Walters right about now.. No no, jk.. Yeah..Peter Jennings truly became the man in the 22 years he's been on World News Tonight..but unfortunately for me, I've seen him for 9 out of those 22 years.. He was that good.
My mom watched Peter Jennings religiously every night in our house growing up. I always remember this theme, plus his perfectly tailored suits. News used to be serious business instead of the current WWE-style nonsense.

Speaking of David Brinkley he did the Huntley-Brinkley Report on NBC with Chet Huntley & during most of the '60s & into 1970 they were locked into competition with Walter Cronkite of CBS.
This became their radio news sounder after about 1984 as well. I remember they recycled the old contemporary news sounder for the Direction Network during 1983, then by 84, 85, they went to this.
