First, from WPBT, a call out for volunteers in the wake of the recent Hurricane Andrew, then its a channel change to WPLG and the end of the close to Jeopardy, followed by a couple of talk show promos, promos for In Concert and This Week in South Florida, then its the intro the 1992 season premiere of TGIF on ABC.

Blues) 9pm - Dinosaurs (season 3 premiere: Nature Calls) 9:30pm - Camp Wilder (series premiere: Bad Influence) 10pm - 20/20

I like this ABC TGIF theme right here, it's old school.This came out my kindergarden year when I was 5.I miss the 90s & all the good TV from the past,it was the best.

The Lovemongers are AKA Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson. Nancy's husband Cameron Crowe wrote/produced the movie Singles IIRC.

The show was originally imagined as an eventual successor to _Donahue,_ as it was first syndicated by Multimedia Entertainment, with Jerry even getting his hair cut to look more like that of Phil Donahue. The initial seasons were much more serious in nature, with the tonal shift to a more insane show not happening until 1994, at which point, the show was nearly canceled due to sagging ratings. Thus, the fights, salacious topics, and more outrageous guests saved the show for what turned out to be a run of 27 seasons.

I still remember this from 20 years ago while sitting on the edge of my seat watching the season premiere of TGIF after a looong summer of reruns! I wished they did this host format more often rather than the usual living room setting of tv shows.

I believe the new TGIF is going to feature Last Man Standing with Tim Allen and Malibu Country with Reba. Not sure about other shows though. osaji922, any ideas what other shows? Are they going to have Kirstie Alley and Ashley Tisdales shows?

@Bastgoddess7 Only 7 for Hurricane Andrew? Now I'm feeling old, LOL! Can't believe this was 19 years ago... I was getting ready to start high school (This was the last year Dade County Schools had 9th grade in Middle Schools, so we were still in Middle School our freshman year)... :)

@sumo8675309 They're working hard on it. I don't think they'll fail again. They know the mistakes made from before and it's different people. They want Tim Allen's sitcom to anchor it which is doing well already right now. Then they'll have Kirstie Alley's sitcom and people like her a lot. Then probably Ahley Tisdale's sitcom to attract that younger disney crowd. It'll work

This was used until September 16, 1994. The following week, they had a new TGIF theme, opening, and bumpers for the 1994-95 season.
