Abia State (Igbo: Ȯha Abia) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, it is bordered to the northwest by Anambra State and northeast by the states of Enugu, and Ebonyi, Imo State to the west, Cross River State to the east, Akwa Ibom State to the southeast, and Rivers State to the south. Abia is the only Southeastern state that has boundaries with the other four Southeastern states in Nigeria. It takes its name from the acronym for four of the state's most populated regions: Aba, Bende, Isuikwuato, and Afikpo (but Afikpo was later joined with a part of Enugu state to create Ebonyi state in 1996). The state capital is Umuahia while the largest city and commercial centre is Aba.

With a little touch here and there, Abia State wud make the list of most developed States in Nigeria. I wish to see another mega city developed somewhere in Abia North, preferably within Ohafia and Arochukwu, merging it in future with Igbere and Abiriba. The human and materia resources to do this is available around this areas. Abia is indeed God's Own State

Ebitu should never never be omitted in the history of Abia. Let it be known that he sacrificed his career to uphold the truth that concerned the igbo suppression by the north during Babangida regime. Do not ever forget Ebitu Ukiwe. Stood up for the igbo when all others ran away in fear of Babangidas might. History will always vindicate ebitu. If you Abians don't want him, we will claim him in Anambra right away.

Southeast is the best developed in Nigeria in terms of the high numbers of kioks on the roads and streets. Also, you can rate SE cities as one of their dirtiest in Nigeria with rubbish strewn everywhere. What about the red sand on the roads? None of the Southeast states can generate enough revenues for projects. Anambra state is the best SE can offer but hardly made headway. Half of the population of people in the SE lived outside their zone due to a lack of infrastructure and opportunities. Now, Otti praises have been heard. Besides, no one knows what he is actually doing. He is now the second saint to Obingos. Igbos shine your eyes. We want your region to develop so that we all come and join and make it work. Currently, SE is not the most developed part of Nigeria. It is a work in progress and has a long way to reach the standard of other regions in Nigeria.

If you like cry , South East is the most developed zone in Nigeria.. even villages are developed unlike your south west. ABA, Onitsha and Nnewi are not state capitals but developed than All the state capitals in south west excluding Lagos.South east villages are the most developed and beautiful villages in Nigeria and west Africa..
