He was in his way to aid and possibly evacuate a planet. Maybe the ship was for the purpose of evacuating wounded (at that point Abin Sur didn’t know the entire planet was in danger).

I haven’t read the gl comics since 2012, but I seem to remember that it was foretold that his ring would fail him and so he gave into fear and chose to travel thru the ship

We are unfortunately living in a time where most people lack a proper understanding of how big space really is... Star Wars did it best in my opinion. Restricting the story to one galaxy. As did Star Trek. But shows like Stephen universe enforce the incorrect assumption that the universe is quiet small and galaxies are just like cities in a country. When in reality galaxies are completely isolated from one another and are impossible to reach without ftl travel.

What you talking about? Earth is on the edge of milky way we not even in the interior of the galaxy. Each galaxy have billions even trillions of stars and planets. Our milky way galaxy might have millions of civilization type 0 to type 2 even thousand of type 3 civilization.

If that were true than why would they need a whole sector for him to protect. Plus Alpha Centauri, Polaris, and Vega have habitable planets in the comics.

They didn't. Its actually a Guardian, not the real Parallax. But they made it into Parallax. WB wanted to start off with a big villain because this was suppose to start off the DC Universe, but it failed. So all plans were cancelled. Other Lanterns would be for the sequels.

@@CavemanJesus4Life That's actually a worse problem, because for one, it IS Parallax (I mean, that guardian mutated into such a being). But the real problem is that the corrupted Guardian has been confirmed to be KRONA. Yeah. KRONA, one of the greatest threats in the ENTIRE DC Universe, seconded only by the Anti-Monitor. To see Krona wasted in favor of a character who is technically a recent creation is disingenuous at best, or poorly thought out at its worst.

@Luc Germain Oh...I actually wasn't too put off by that part. As long as Parallax is the yellow entity of fear and NOT Hal Jordan, it'll pass in my opinion. I was just taken aback by the fact that they took two distinct villains and mashed them together out of convenience.

Deadpool is who Ryan should’ve played a long time ago and eventually got it. Hannibal King led to Ryan wanting to play Deadpool.

Apparently because Abin enjoyed flying as Hal did, so he preferred a physical vessel.

Technically, Abin was also keeping Parrelex trapped with a construct, so that must've taken a toll on his ring power, always having to project that protection against him.

It’s important to remember that both Marvel and DC started out in the *superhero comic book genre.* If Marvel can’t uphold to its fucking roots then most likely people won’t remember them for their famous comic-book stories like Planet Hulk, or the Dark Phoenix saga and will instead will remember them for the mediocre movies that are cheap iterations of their comic book counterparts. And “amazing cigi”?, clearly what we have here is someone who prefers style over substance, I’ve found better enjoyment out of the 1970’s Hulk TV show because it focused more on good storytelling rather than cringe “all in your face” computer generated bullshit. Marvel has fallen flat on its face with its garbage Civil War 2, and it’s sjw infested Secret Empire nonsense. Recent Marvel comics have been garbage for years now. There’s no focus on quality stories, just desperate attempts to get readers attention with shock marketing. Captain America as a Nazi was the final straw. Now whilst DC absolutely sucks donkey-balls in the movies, I heard that their doing fine in everything else. DC has great animated movies and TV shows, DC is doing very well in live action television, and as far as I know DC is doing very well in their comics. If the movies are all that Marvel has left than good luck on that because no absurd amount of Stan Lee Cameos and crappy jokes are gonna save these movies from horrible scriptwriting. Even if their movies prove to be financially successful, it still won’t save them in the long run because there is a limit to how much of these movies can be made and the actors contracts won’t last forever. If Marvel can’t keep up in the comic book/ tv show/ animation business then the Marvel Universe is the one that is dying because no person would want to watch the same mediocre movies over and over again. They want new stories, new things to aspire to. DC can supply that but Marvel can’t because they were too busy making Disney approved 1.5-2 hour movies rather than focusing on the forms of entertainment that *true Marvel fans* were inspired by.
