Film Disription: In a mysterious universe, the Green Lantern Corps, an elite defense force of peace and justice have existed for centuries. Reckless test pilot Hal Jordan acquires superhuman powers when he is chosen by the Ring, the willpower-fed source of power. Reluctantly at first, he takes on the challenge after the death of Abin Sur, the finest Green Lantern. Putting his self-doubts aside, and spurred on by his sense of duty and love for his beautiful, intellectually equal, colleague, Carol Ferris, he is soon called to defend mankind from Parallax, a powerful, evil being who feeds on fear. Hal Jordan is the universe's last chance, as many Green Lanterns have been killed and the Corps is weakened. 1:03 You can see the pure frustration Sinestro has with The Guardians not doing anything. He doesn’t care about how powerful the enemy is or how hard the job will be, he cares about the innocent people and the bigger picture. Mark Strong’s performance as Sinestro was one of the best things about the film and one of the perfect casts I’ve ever seen

Am i the only one that genuinely enjoyed this movie? The casting and effects at the time were great and the story was good too. Yeah the enemy was a little one dimensional but the overall film was solid. . Would have loved to see sinestro as a villain and learn more about the other various lantern cores this universe has to offer.

I felt the characterization of Hal Jordan was off. They made him too insecure and doubtful of his abilities when he's supposed to be confident and a little brash and witty.

Always enjoy watching this movie. Ive watched the cgi complaints but damn near everything has cgi. No shortage of cgi with Avengers and others. Its fun.

@@rushfan9thcmd Personally I have no issue with the CGI. I think what brings the movie down for me is the casting of Hal Jordan. Ryan Reynolds isn't really suited for the role and the writers made Jordan too insecure and doubtful when he's supposed to be confident and witty, but a little brash. If it had been a different person as Hal Jordan (such as Nathan Fillion maybe), it would've been better.

@dude99844 I enjoyed it, it’s a pretty decent introduction to the green lantern series for anyone new to the concept, yeah Hal in this isnt the greatest and how they handled parallax was weird, but it’s still pretty freaking cool and the CGI i feel still holds up…another problem ive heard people complain about is the suit design however i liked them, they were a fresh take and it felt like it made sense for the suits to look like that, as the Lantern Corps is an alien police force, why would the suits be the standard spandex look? Not hating the original designs from the comics, i just like the ideas they brought to the table here

I know. It breaks my heart. I love the Lanterns, and there are so many good stories they could do. Sinestro Corps War and the whole War of Light. Blackest Night. Brightest Day. I would love to see any of it. Edit: Rage of the Red Lanterns would be the dream for me. Shout out to my favorite corps

If you are aware of why the guardian was silent about parallel it’s becuz parallel were once a guardian too who was corrupted by the yellow ring and if you look closely on the guardian pillars..one of them apparently was destroyed our absent bcuz that pillar were once sit by parallex

This movie could have been fantastic if they kept it in space. Sinestro was amazing, so was Kilowog, Tomar-Re and Abin-Sur. Too bad they all had minor roles. Oa looked super good. Ryan was good as Hal. I even liked the CGI suits. They look like I imagine suits made of pure energy does. Carol Ferris, Parallax and Hector Hammond sucked. Too bad they had major roles. The Green Lantern Corps movie should be 100% set in space. DC had a perfect opportunity to give us a Sci-fi comic adventure before Marvel made ”Guardians of the Galaxy”. Green Lantern had so much potential.

I found this more engaging than your average Marvel movie. The only thing wrong was the mind-infection subplot. They should have just made Parallax a straight up alien invasion. Everything else was fine. Not sure why people complain about the CGI. I can't tell the difference between this and GOTG 2. Same shit.
