Check out our album, merch and stuff!! linktr.ee/markusvenehsalo I wanted to try film scoring and took part to the Berlin International Film Scoring competition. Sound Design by Lai Yu Music by Me
Incredible, the music really emphasizes the scenes of the film, starting from the bizarre entry of the alien machines, to the creation of life from something not alive!
I love how at the end, the machines look like they're a virus pod. And in essence, they do act as a virus. But instead of taking life for their own selfish gains, they give new life to a dead world. Beautiful, I was intrigued from beginning to end and loved the designs of the machines and how multipurpose they were.
Excellent! Graphics, music, and content were literally out of this world (no pun intended). The imagination is an amazing thing when put to good use as is the case for this short. tomato meter: 10
Absolutely my favorite SF short film on RU-vid! I like to get up close to the screen during the chase, covering my peripheral vision to focus on the sense of speed. Brilliant and atmospheric beyond description. Gorgeous and captivating setting. Where is the "To be continued," for Chrissakes?
Sir Fred Hoyle, British scientist, scientific speculator, sci fi writer, speculated that life is so unusual in the universe it has only happened once ... and is now seeding itself everywhere. Space is chock full of organic molecules. Something we never expected.
Awesome short - Love the concept of taking the essence of a planet's biome, the subsequent seeding, implementation and perpetuation of life and then off to another suitable planet to repeat..
Really enjoyed this Markus! I really felt like fell into the trap of over-scoring my submission. But you have striked a brilliant and inventive balance between audio and visual. Look forward to seeing more from you :)
Watched it twice very intriguing, just wondering if this shows us a way of using the planets own beginnings of an eco system and giving it a boost with the planets own inactive volcanoes to start an atmospheric composition that the species can come back at a later time to live on. In let’s say a 1000 or so years. Then it’s off to do it all over again. Eventually it will find a planet that needs just the right boost to terra form it much faster I would think!
EXCELLENT Score!!! Great video + Score!!! Well Done......... whoever 'downvoted' you were Probably the one inhabiting the planet that you ............ Abiogenesis!!!
When are we gonna learn that entering an atmosphere can be slow and not a violent process? If you slide in and slowly descend- no fireworks! Nice CGI! Well done.
It can be, but the most efficient way to slow down is to use friction. How much extra energy and mass is it worth to avoid the violent process and can that extra energy and mass be afforded after spending whatever it takes to get to the destination?
And now you know why there are so many Paradise Planets. Earth was once a Paradise Planet. They Thrive for all Eternity, until disturbed by explorers or conquerors. Humans Yearn to Return to Their Paradise Planet, but it is long gone, the damage is done. All you can do is live out your days on your dying paradise planet.
