Getting my hands dirty in Ableton again and I cannot tell you how many tutorials are just "yeah session view is rough, but you will get used to it once you learn" but you came right out of the gate with "fuck that shit turn it off and never look back" 😂
hey mai, new ableton user here. I just switched and everything has been fine so far, but ive had this sudden interest in men nowadays... like i really like boys now, is this common in ableton users?
nah must just be a personal problem. but no worries bro, its 2021, we dont care what your preference is buddy, in fact im proud of you for finally being honest with yourself and sharing a secret that all of us were already aware of anyways. that takes courage so good job!.....gayboy :) #youaintgottalietokickit #itsOkayThatYouLikeFL #FruityLovers #F**Lyfe #YouWereBornThatWay #GayIsOkay #AbletonStraightAllDay #CowboyButtsDrivesFLusersNuts!! #FLGBT lmao!
@@jerrymuia5430 I use both different vibes in each program and sometimes beat block and be cured by simply switching to another daw just like finding a new sound definitely worth learning
This actually made sense. You're far more organic than all the others who sound like zombies just repeating the manual as if they're in love with the program itself more than actually making any music.
been on ableton for 6 years and just got my wrist tat. laughed so hard when you said that. then laughed even harder when you called people who use sequence view psychopaths. couldn't agree more😂 instantly liked and subbed
Hi, I'm an older composer and I had to dump my museum quality equipment because my brother got me a new recording/composing gig. I have been literally crying over the new stuff - the old equipment was more user friendly. But your video got me back on track! Buddha bless you my friend! Keep making videos and I will keep watching, I have so much to learn - but at least can get a beat with a melody out now! Namaste!
i bought ableton a couple years ago but i've been avoiding using it bc it seemed too complicated but you explained all the shortcuts really nicely. i'm gonna try it out
@@cesruhf2605 depends on what version you buy... i got whatever the cheapest one was at the time lol i still don't ever use it tho. i'm too used to reason to change
@@mixremusic yeah i feel like if i wasn't so used to Reason it would be easier for me but the hotkeys and shortcuts are so different from what i'm used to that it feels like trying to learn another language lol but tbh i need to just sit down and force myself to learn it
the session view is very useful for quickly jotting down beats and ideas, but especially for live performance if youre into that kinda thing. after you get the basics down definitely look for another tutorial that discusses the session view. session view is the reason the program is called ableton "live" lmao.
How do I thumbs up this more. Session view is my go-to for constructing something that can be played live. Being called a psychopath for using it was not appreciated.
I work in Studio One and am trying out Ableton and this is by far one of the most concise and informative general Ableton tutorial on RU-vid. Huge help man, thanks!
This Video makes me mad, it wasn't there earlier for me. Most of the stuff, took me ages to find out and back when I learned ableton, there where only weird tutorials on yt. So nice vid🤙🏾
I've been watching tuts for the past 8 months and tbh i couldnt understand shit, after watching this simple to the point tut i feel like ive actually learned something today. Thanks man you should make more ableton tuts it would really help!
ABLETON JUST SAVES STUFF WITHOUT RECORDING IF YOU LET IT?????? That's awesome! This is going to be the third time I try Ableton, and this video has simplified what I was trying to find every previous time I've done the trial run. Thanks for the help
My brother. I started my music career in production and then moved to recording and mixing. I’m jumping back into ableton and I’ve forgotten everything that I used to know. And you’ve just given me more inspiration to get back into the ableton game. ! Thank you bro
currently in the process too. i love FL to DEATH i've been using it since 2016 making great stuff on it, but i wanna try the Ableton way just to test out the workflow and the features it has vs FL
thinking to switch in Ableton from FL cause I wanna learn making Mid Tempo and Dubstep but the tutorials are not available on FL mostly so that's why xD but still will use FL cause it is the first love lol
could you make a video on volume leveling? the first difference I found going from FL to Ableton. for example the kick hits hard but does not fit into the master, and if I turn it down, it loses a bit of its nastiness and plays less hard
bro you seriously ace this stuff, i really get anoyyed of the people that say " the second view is tough you'll learn it some day " yeah you better get that outa here right now cuz this dude is BOMB! 💣💣
I have been going back and forth on what daw I want to learn either logic or Abelton and I think this video sold it for me thanks for being thorough learned some crazy tips appreciate it.
Bro I just want to say thank you so much for this I’ve had ableton for at least two months and watched so many videos but you just explained it so easily for me to where I can actually make a song now so for that thank you so much.🙌🏽
Woooo! DOPE! You just inspired me to give Ableton another shot. The auto time stretching and warping looks so sick and easy. I have so much trouble with that in FL and just kills my flow and vibe when using samples. This looks very intuitive. What you do about using older 32bit VST plugins? As far as I know their not supported in version 11.
apprciate the tutorial, you could have introduce and go a bit longer on how to add the pre loaded midi or audio as total beginners will get lost after the useful tips in the begining.
I feel like people half way show you how to use daws so you can go watch more of their videos. Think about it, most producers are trying to figure out how to design our own drum kits using splice. This guy didn't do that all all, like what he did I could've done that myself. lmao
Dude , after banging around in Ableton for 3 days I found this video. I was able to make my 1st decent Track today. I love your approach to the whole process and will be watching all your video's
Is there a reason why my MIDI isn’t producing any sound? I try to put a track in but ableton only plays my audio which is frustrating because it’s stopping me from recording a beat. Tried arming it solo and still didkt work. Anyone have a solution?
Dude, this was so good lol. That's a great way to do a tutorial thanks so much. I just wasn't expecting it to teach me that much just be making a loop. But it did lmao.
This video was exactly what I needed! I've been using FL for around 6 years and just started getting into DnB and wanted to learn Ableton. I felt like I was at square one again when I opened it up, just totally lost on how to do everything. But so many of these beginner videos aren't for people new to Ableton, they're for people new to music. Soooo dumbed down and explaining stupid things like what bpm is or what a measure is. I just needed to know some useful shortcuts and generally how things work in Ableton and this video got me setup to finish a beat in like an hour after never using Ableton before. Cheers man, this shit rocked
CONTROL+LSHIFT+M .. This is what I needed! And I know that I'm not the biggest idiot in the world because you said that you wish somebody told you ... THANK YOU
Very nice video, dude!! Wonder if you can help this dummy here 🖐 I can't configure my tracks on ableton to show the sound waves during my recording, when recording MIDIs! But when I drag an audio track then yeah it shows!! Any tip?!
What if I'm a complete dummy in that I just got an Alesis v25 and it was used and didn't have anything except the keyboard. I had to buy the cable and now I have Ableton but trying to use the tutorial isn't at all for dummies. All I've gotten it to do so far is play piano or other included instruments and was able to record a short loop of the music I'M creating but haven't figured out the drum pad and adding to what I have is hard to do without worrying im going to mess up my original score.
Man..i been working with just akai force and blue box mixer for recording because ive tried cubase then garage band then ableton... it's been MISERABLE. every one dosen't detect something, garage band is midi controllers, they're detected but not there to choose, cubase is just fucked, ableton is the closest to something that works that I've tried but man the computer destroys my world when it comes to music it makes me never want to hear music again. I don't get it.i build and program drones, I've anyways diy my own computers I've played bass for 15 years. But can't get a fuckin daw to work.
When I make drums for my loop I don't loop it I play it all through and obviously it wouldn't be perfect , but when I quantize it it ruins everything , so will I have to adjust each beat ( kick, snare) off track manually or there's a way to fix it?
Thank you so much for the tutorial.. quick question, when I try to use the keyboard to punch in beats it's.. doing something else. Is there a setting to use your keyboard as a midi device that I'm missing?
Hello, I am attempting to use Ableton live 9 like a sound effect generator. I want to hit buttons on my Elgato stream deck xl using Midi and trigger the playback of sound effects audio files I have in Ableton while in session view. Do you have a video I can watch that can explain how i can do that and how to map the buttons from the stream deck xl using midi?
Man, I know how to use Abelton somewhat and you are very very confusing and I use the midi clip side the majority of the time. It’s fun as hell so idk why you would make people adverse to it. Womp womp. Next.
Question: Is this an app that provides you with digital instruments, or a recording and edit app? Also, where can I find an app that provides instruments, because I don't have any.
Just wanted to document the fact that I disliked this video, I believe everybody that feels the same way should leave a comment that they did. If you don't know what I'm talking about just go over the first statement that he made. Very very disrespectful.
7:05 why did you correct yourself to say highpass? Lowpass was correct lmao. the band allows the low frequencies to pass through, its a highcut or lowpass filter. either works.
