I like your vidoes. Just one question: Why do you draw so long notes for some of the kicks and even the snare? I thought that the midi just initiated the sound aka the drummer hit the respective instrument with his stick - in the case of a drum instrument? I cannot hear the difference to be honest and that's why I ask. Maybe there is something into it that I don't understand. I never draw more than 1/16 for these instruments.

I've become obsessed with trying to learn to make some music.. just for myself. I feel like I am urmm.. musically (and possibly just creatively) challenged, but I am still going at it. I have been trolling the internet trying to find the right tute. I've found some really good stuff.... But nothing comes close to this so far. This is absolutely awesome. You're teaching it in a way that's easy to follow and possibly modify, but I'm starting to get a feel for the whole (I hate this word:) workflow... How it all comes together and how ideas start to form. Some other tutorials have said to start brainstorming in session view, and I could see that as being beneficial but right now I keep getting lost on single ideas or really short little loops. Again, this is AWESOME. Thank you very much for putting this thing together, it's making a big impact.

At 29:52, you used CTRL-J to consolidate the volume-faded sample (before reversing it). I'm not entirely sure what this did when compared to the earlier consolidation of a smaller midi track. In this case, did you do it because the fade-out hit 0% (not sure if that's the right way to say it) earlier than the actual end of the track, and by consolidating it, you are cropping off that wasted space? If so, does this then stretch that sample out to fill the space left by that crop? I've probably butchered the question... Thanks!

at 6.35. The grids doesnt fit for me. So on the top at 1.2 its not 1.2 on the bottom. Is there a way that the grids are synchronized by default? greetings and somehow if i add a sample, then the volume fade is a little bit faded by default. is there a way to turn this off, so the sound if played full by default if i add it? PS: you forgot to turn the snare on again which you turned off at 27.56 :) But besides that really good work dude. i learned a lot new stuff from it.!
