I have the 49, and I'm loving the fact that I dont have to interact with the keyboard and mouse as much. Slowly learning all of the shift functions. Informative video, thanks!
Novation is known with its great software design on MIDI controllers. I specially like Launchkey and Circuit series. Tons of great capabilities are on those devices. Really impresive. Thanks a lot 😊
Great tutorial for beginners 👍I wish i would have watched this video 2 years ago lol I bought the mini mk3 first cause its a good chunk smaller but after playing arround in Ableton i just realized how important the undo function is, specially for a beginner like i was, so i returned it and went with the 25 mk3. After watching this i just realize i could have made a custom pad with an undo keybind. I don't regret it, the 25 is a much better controller so.. 🤣🤣🤣
The Launchkey / Launchpad Series is by far my favourite series of controllers, I have the 37key and love it. Looking forward to see what the next version of the SL is, getting more hardware synths and would love a hub to control them all.
Being an Ableton user, will I be better off with *SL* or with *Launchkey* ? The google results were somewhat disappointing; probably Launchkey should be my choice, however, I am not sure about that.
Both benefit from deep integration with Ableton Live but they are quite different. If you're looking for a central point of control for a setup that features multiple pieces of hardware and software, SL MkIII is the ideal choice. If you're primarily looking for Ableton Live control, Launchkey is a solid choice.
@@NovationTV unfortunately I don't own the launchkey but do have the launchpad mini 2. What I found is that many speach enabled features of Live 12, will work from both the computer keyboard and from midi controllers. It may not be perfict but very nice all the same.
Oh, that's awesome! The kudos really belong to the Ableton team for making these features accessible. It's great to hear that this is something you've been enjoying.
Stull trying to figure out how to connect a Launchkey 25 and 47 (mk3 units) at the same time to Ableton 12. It sees both units as just "Launchkey MK3." I think the solution is to change the USB Device ID, but i have not found any instructions on how to accomplish that.
Sorry you're having problems with that. On Windows, the port labelling is the same so you will find that it isn't possible to have both units send note data to Live at the same time but there are workarounds. It's probably best if you give us a call, use LiveChat or send us an email so that we can assist you with this.
@@NovationTV Definitely want to see a new SL MK4 with even better Ableton integration and seamless VST control of VSTs from Arturia and NI. We need Novation to keep music creation open and flexible!
Launchkey should be automatically detected by Ableton Live and ready to use. If that's not the case, you will just need to open up the Preferences and ensure it's set up as shown here - support.novationmusic.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360019843620-Getting-Started-With-Launchkey-MK3-Ableton-Live-Setup You can also find that video that covers this on our 'Easy Start' site here - getstarted.focusrite.com/en/launchkey/setting-your-launchkey-live
