In this video I show a basic workflow of making a soulful hip-hop beat in Ableton Live 10 Suite without using any VST plugins or additional samples. The stock sounds are pretty good and varied if you have the packs that come with Suite. I use a stock drum kit for the drum part, a Rhodes piano from the Electric Keyboards pack, a bell sound from Collision and I do some quick and basic sound design with Wavetable on the spot.

Man you got such good work flow and getting ideas out, i have two topics maybe you could make videos about. One for mixing & mastering your track to get it DONE, as well how you go about mixing your drums since you have them in a drum rack, do you separate them into their own tracks afterwards? Cheers dude keep it up

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Great video suggestions as well. It's actually really easy to separate the drums from the drum rack but tbh I usually mix them inside the drum rack. But yeah, I can do a video on it.

tbh still ableton plugins are kinda basic...

I wouldn’t call them basic, some of the older ones aren’t great, like Analog and the regular Reverb. But stuff like the new Hybrid Reverb, Drum Buss, Wavetable are excellent and quite unique IMHO.

Wait..wait ...so U sayin I dont need of dozens of secret plugins to make a good sounds...guys in previous videos I watched said that if I wont own all of the plugins introduced in theirs videos there is no chance to become good producer and finish any track...Man U confused me.;)

Hahah, I know what you're sayin'! People just buy the shiniest plugins without actually exploring the full potential of the stock ones. You can def make great sounding music with the built-in stuff.

Glad you liked it! The are all stock sounds from Ableton Live, you can find them in the browser. Some of them are from the Packs section and have to be downloaded in addition to the Core Library - but again - they are downloded straight from the browser if you have a license for the Suite version.

Glad you liked the video! It's more than 3 years old though, so I'm not sure but I think it's from the Factory Library and not from any additional pack.

Thanks man! I did one video with Wavetable but should probably do more, thanks for the reminder. Used to use Screenflow for recording the screen but lately been using OBS too.

Actually stock plugins and sounds are enough to make it, but it's most common overlooked thing by user's.And every new day is new day and new plugin,it's messed up 😀 After this video I will definitely try because I'm one who overlooked this basic,stock that come in DAW's
