There were farms,just not in the European sense of the word and visitors DID come before the invasion of the British. The Macassan people of Indonesia had been coming to Australia as early as the mid 1600's - they brought with them the Dingo and even left tamarind trees up North in Yolgnu country. They were fishing for Trepang and the local Aboriginal people helped them and even travelled back with them to Indonesia. In the 1800's, there was even an Aboriginal community living in Macassar.
Colours have different meanings among different mobs. Try to understand Kooris are as different to Nyoongar people as the French are to the British. No generalisation will be accurate across such a broad cultural space. Bruce Pasco is a great writer to learn from. I recommend his work. Great to see this study happening.
Im a Noongah woman from Perth Western Australia my Country is the South West region of Western Australia & i just wanted correct this guy, by saying there is evidence that Aboriginal people have been here for more than 65000 years maybe longer this is proven by archaeologists and other scientists whom have studied Aboriginal art and other Aboriginal artefacts that have been found all around Australia....
Do you call this a lecture! He cannot read even properly from the slides. No explanation, only reading from slides which are full of grammatical mistakes. These people get salaries from the government! These are renowned professors! I seriously have doubts about the selection methods.
