Disagree, I like some Adele songs but that thing is some major retail-core, you know the type of music that’s so lifeless that you can just imagine it blaring when you walk in to Target while listening to it
Personally I dont think 30 could exist without 19. The evoking songwriting & experimental production and instrumental are prevalent in 30. I feel like 30 is a true perfect harmonization of 19, 21 & 25. It encapsulates the history of her life and relationships while also providing glimpses into the future of Adele, and where she is as a woman right now. All beautiful albums. Maybe its just the nostalgia of 19 that keeps me hooked, I hold it in a special place in my life.
Yes! 19 is under-recognized and you can really see the building blocks of her artistry when you appreciate that album. I may have a nostalgia relationship to it as well cause I associate it with all the feel-good and/or easy-listening Brit pop and indie pop of the 2000s. Like a “Put Your Records On”-inspired playlist
I agree…19 legit set the tone for her and she never fails. Chasing Pavements was the best song during that time. I disagree with the first half of the video. 19 was perfect in all communities.
@@glowdoll183 I actually went and listened to said artist, who is pretty good but I’m my opinion not copied. Very different sounds. I would have to hear a side by side but for me there may be some similar chords and that’s it. It’s 2021, almost every sound has been done before. Did you go and listen for yourself? For me personally it’s a reach that is bringing that artist a lot of views
the thing is… 21 is ours. If you’re born in the first half of the 90s this soundtracked two or three of your most important years especially if you happened to like it.. so like I personally love Adele and 19, and 30.. but 21 really is as much mine as it is hers. Every song does it for me including Hiding my heart and I think that was a 4shared exclusive.
she's selling albums like mariah carey, celine dion, and whitney houston did in the 90s. to do that in the streaming era of music is unheard of. she makes people go out and buy her albums than have them stream it. truly a titan in record sales.
This is the EXACT order I would put her albums in too. I was shocked at the direction of 30 and was not expecting it, but after a few listens, I love pretty much the entire album. Amazing vocals, extremely soulful and also vulnerable. As you said, nothing tops 21 at all.
21 has the best singles, 30 is the best Album. from lyrics, production, mixing and vocals 30 is superior in every single way. just remember 30 is not meant to be a catchy Album, it's loaded with Jazz, Soul inspiration and most songs are so long, it's expiremental and brave and it's meant to be an experience not bunch of catchy songs.
@@steph9146 The same thing can be said about an album though. People initially may like an album but then in a month later just listen to the best tracks or the most catchy tracks, or just entirely do not listen to the album anymore. I do think this is truer than your statement. People still remember the singles from 19, 21, and 25; they did not just simply forgot them like you said.
I really enjoyed 30. Definitely surpassed 25 for sure. Too soon to say if it's better then 21. But 21 is like one of those albums that's once in a lifetime for an artist. It's impossible to replicate and repeat that type of success and quality. Rolling in the deep and Someone like you will always be classics. 21 I feel will have more stronger and memorable singles but I honestly enjoy most of all 30 tracks over 21 as there are tracks in 21 I skip lol. My little love absolutely broke my heart. So raw and personal to the point I felt like I was intruding listening to it. Oh my god better be a single cause otherwise it would be a waste of opportunity for Adele. To be loved is going to be one of those classics like when we were young. Adele should continue to work with Tobias Jesso Jr cause man knows how to create master pieces.
Whaaa? 25 literally had bops to bops like ‘Hello’ ‘Send My Love’ ‘Million Years Ago’ ‘Remedy’ ‘All I Ask’ ‘When We We’re Young’ and more. 30 was very meh, I was confused the whole time listening to it like huh LOL.
@@Villager_N20 Ehh it’s alright I guess but I don’t think it will ever measure up to the gems dropped in her previous projects. I’m starting to think it’s all on purpose too because of the pandemic and business is going slow for music right now in terms of sales and having tours. It wouldn’t be a good business idea for her to drop hitmakers during rough times, the 30 album is just chill and a wonderful filler album for better albums to come where she knows it would make better business sales and have tours on, and have better music/songs on.
Adele said : "If everyone makes music for TIK TOK, who's making it for my generation? I will gladly take that Job" I am not in her age, but it makes sad when I see people hating on Adele in the comment section, it's sad that GREAT MUSIC is now viewed as boring and depressing, it reminds of when Folklore came out and many called it "boring" when it's actually my favourite album from Taylor, just because of how well written and produced it is. Same with 30.
It’s fine accept it’s very condescending for her to say that only her generation can be “deep” lol she totally discredited all the indie artists that are able to get recognition from blowing up on tiktok.
@@tatcha90 She didn't say her generation is deep. She said she didn't want 12 year olds listening to her album because it's to deep. And she's right. A lot of this album is emotionally heavy.
@@monicajohnson2683 Kids are a lot smarter & emotionally capable than you think. 30 is meant for her son, no? There are kids who practice on long preludes and symphonies. No way we'll say her music is boring, it's actually very poppy.
I’ve been seeing alot of unnecessary hate towards Adele when she barely just got back into music. Edit: so I’m glad that videos like this exist to showcase her in a positive light.
Two of the albums I personally was looking forward the most were Adele's 30 and Lorde's Solar Power but when I heard them, while they're not bad, they didn't meet my expectations. I came to the conclusion that that's because these are THEIR albums. It's from them made for them, not us. Lorde said how this is her most personal album from her trip to Antarctica to her dog dying and Adele as well said how this is made specially for her and her son and how she really got vulnerable on this one. She also said how fans made 25 and 21 their own but she wanted to keep 30 for herself. Personally I think 30 is a great album, not my personal favorite but great nonetheless Edit: guys I'm not pitting or comparing Solar Power to 30. I'm simply assimilating Lorde's and Adele's feeling on their albums. How they're specially for themselves
I am sorry, but solar power was a completely new level of musical disappointment I do not think I have ever experienced before, and this is coming from a hug lorde fan. 30 is not nearly as disappointing, if it is disappointing at all. Imo, it is better than 25.
30 is a beautiful album. In ways it reminds me of Beyoncé’s Lemonade. An album for mature older people who have experienced certain things in their life. Going through relationship issues, becoming a new mom, cheating, becoming an older woman etc. I feel the album speaks to people differently if you have experienced certain things in your life that you can relate to Adele with. Some of the top pop/ hip hop tracks now focus on partying and sex might be more “fun” to listen to a younger person compared to someone in their 30/40. I feel as an artist gets older their music just does not fit in as much with whatever is popular with the new generation. Although Adele is still young she became a young mom and married young.
As a die hard Adele fan, this is my favorite album. 25 was a sudden, big, and strong storm, but that years later it's my least listened album of hers. 30 is just fresh, so personal, and beautifully arranged. My tops are definitely: - I drink wine - Cry your heart out - Oh my god - Love is a game - Woman like me
When Easy On Me came out in October, everyone was like: all her songs sound the same. There is no growth. And when 30 dropped, everyone was like: I don't like the new sound. I want the old Adele back. LOL.
I loved her new album, the single felt like typical Adele but the album had so much great and unexpected production. I had no idea Adele was coming with this energy, probably a 10/10 for me.
Surprisingly, this is the only Adele album I actually listened to. I of course know her other songs but I never actually listened to any of her albums. I love this album and listen to it on repeat.
I loved all night parking even though it's an interlude. It gave a real beautiful jazz vibe to it, Adele understood the assignment! Beat has an Amy Winehouse vibe to it and she pulled it off well! If anything 30 is a mature album compared to her others. To be loved is just a sensation track to a point where you can feel her pain. It's lovely to see how far she has come since her chasing pavements era!
I personally like 30 more than 21. 21 was a beautiful album, with iconic songs that dominated the charts and arguably probably contributed to the zeitgeist more. But 30 hit me so much harder emotionally, and I think I like it more because of that.
I feel like Adele used to write more symbolically and her lyrics were extremely theatrical and whimsical, now with her power and advancement in life, the content is a bit more literal. The quality of voice is still beyond there, though, and I think that will always carry her through. Her deep and powerful voice and ability to bring unmatched emotion to ballads still reign strong.
Is anyone like me. Like I enjoy her main singles but I have no interest into listening to more of her material because I feel like I would get bored. There is only so much love and heartbreak ballads I can take. But Adele's voice is incredible. She is one of the singers that can actually sing and doesn't have to rely on anything but her voice to give a great performance.
Completely agree. I can’t get through more than a few songs without wanting to fall asleep. Tbh It’s hard to express opinions like this, because anything other than ass kissing is roped into “hate”.
I respect the fact that she is famous for her voice. Not her body, beauty, drama or idk i think it's a pretty rare thing to have in this industry. esepcially in this industry where women always get oversexualized & get thrown away as soon as they turn 30 years old
I used to be exactly like that. I absolutely love most of her singles (Rolling in the deep is one of my alltime favourite songs) but never really liked her albums. But 30 is different. Loved it from front to back. I think it's mainly because her other albums felt like a collection of singles, with the songwriting repeating itself over and over. But 30 had a consistent topic as it was about her divorce.
After listening to 30 I was genuinely happy that Adele has been the most successful artist of the past decade. Especially that nowadays virtually all music consists of songs that are overtly sexual, or glamorizing drugs, violence, and artists only making songs to be TikTok hits etc… An artist singing about raw emotions so profoundly with class and still being at the very top while shattering records the way Adele does gave me somewhat hope that humanity isn’t broken beyond repair yet
@@livefoursims1839 um i dont know why u commented that cause I'm a swiftie myself not an adele stan 😂 i was just asking which fandom is gonna come and attack that's all
@@livefoursims1839 Yeah I agree 💯💯 I forgot to mention properly but I just meant as in albums specifically like 21 and 25 were by far the most successful albums of the past decade
1:32: 19 IMO could never be a weak link. Even though I can understand why you'd say it isn't "commanding" given the LPs that followed, I believe it certains does call for attention. My favourite part about it is how "British" it sounds. I adore how her accent seems to be much easier to hear on it, how crisp, foward and canon the string sections in songs like Cold Shoulder and Melt My Heart to Stone are. It goes a number of places including the break out singles which came to definw what people would expect from Adele. I agree fully with the opening remarks by @Its_Hippo 30 could never have come about had 19 not begun it all.
30 is definitely my favorite album from her followed by 21. 25 missed the mark for me, personally, but that’s just one simple mans opinion haha. I suppose 19 is my least favorite but that’s because I am not as familiar with it.
I liked 19 the best I haven't been nearly as interested in anything after that. If she made more sings like cold shoulder she'd be one of my favorite artist but I find the production on most of her newer releases to be grand but boring.
Adele is amazing. But I can’t help but feel the double standards with her and Lana Del Rey . When Adele sings sad slow songs she’s praised for it , but when Lana does the same people label her as depressing and boring . I know Lana sings more controversial topics , but I feel like she gets the most backlash for being herself .
I think Adele should do some collaborations. I would love that! I know Adele doesn’t technically need other artists but it would add some different elements to her music that we might not get to hear from her alone.
this is just 19 slander. That album is not a weak link. It shows her before she became more polished and perfected by the industry. At only 19 years old she was already better than most singers who have had major flops at older ages.
yes, 21 is better. and yes, 30 being 'experimental' was a shock to what I was expecting it to be (the same with Billir Eillish). But I think why I feel unattached with this album, is it tackles on "a mother getting divorced" story, which I cannot relate to as a 21 yr old single guy (unlike her early break up songs). it isn't bad but it isn't what I prefer either. It's up to the people whether they'll like it or not👌
Idk but My Little Love just hit different for me cause my mom has always worked her ass off for me and my sister and has been through some really hard things and she's just so caring I love her.
21 is the best of her albums but 19 is what i go back to most often. Idk how it's still so underrated. 30 is incredible- the writing and experimental nature of it give it a depth and richness that I love. It feels right. My least favorite is 25 and that doesn't doesn't mean it's a bad album. It's just the one I listen to the least. It's a fantastic album too.
I am very glad that she has not tried to Chase the success of her 21 album.. I like the fact that she is trying new things and moving beyond her younger albums.
I think artistic authenticity is what gets you to the top. That’s why people like Taylor and Adele can sell albums in large numbers and also have lots of streams without having to make tiktok music to stay relevant. They both write about their lives in a very storytelling way; and that’s actually what defines them as great artists. I prefer Taylor to Adele, because I need the artist to put on a big show, and Adele just stands and sings. Of course, her voice is amazing, but I need more than ballads when I listen to music. Regardless, both are great songwriters and artists. They make well-produced albums. 21 in my opinion is Adele’s best album 💿 and lyrically, evermore is Taylor‘s best album 💿 BUT…… Not to get defensive about Taylor, but a lot of people are saying that Adele is the only artist who can sell physical copies and that she is the only one who writes about her life etc… but Taylor has been doing this before Adele became famous and is more popular than her. Someone actually called her “The Music Industry”, but that spot is Taylor Swift’s. Also, some people were really hating on T.Swift for being too famous but I actually think her artistic individuality and industrial power is under appreciated and underrated. But anyway, loved the video!!
Will always respect your opinion but most of my fave adele songs are on 19! Actually I’m definitely in the minority here but…Melt My Heart To Stone is my favourite song of hers. I honestly think it’s one of the best vocal performances I’ve heard on a record ever…and her live performances of MMHTS, Daydreamer, Crazy For You & Hometown Glory are electric.
i love when artists do what they wanna do, like adele, lorde, taylor swift, etc, instead of composing less meaningful and tiktoky songs so theyd get people attention.
Ummm I don't agree with you regarding you commentary on 19. 19 was the blueprint for the rest of her albums, and maybe her writing wasn't there yet, but those ballads were gold and developed her into the artist she is now. But that's just my opinion
30 is the best storytelling album by far and the most cohesive concept it just completely makes sense. Of course 21 is commercially the best and will forever be that and has the best individual singles. In terms of actually listening to a full album start to end 30 is much more interesting. 19 is a great album and I think you're selling it way short saying it sounds like an x factor contestants album, the lyrics and melodies are a lot better than that. 25 is a very predictable album, the 3 target/japan exclusive songs are the most interesting to me and had she put those on the regular version I feel like the album would've had a very different and more creative/divers vibe.
19 is not Weak, y’all underrate 19 so much it’s annoying. And you saying 19 mostly was ballads tells me you haven’t even listened to it. The likes of Right as rain, Tired, My same, Melt my heart to stone, Cold shoulder, Many shades of black, aren’t ballads. Adele doesn’t have a worst album. I’ll pick 19 any day over most debut albums today (including SOUR and WWFAWDWG) no shade to Olivia and Billie.
I feel like I'm the only one who isn't blown away by her music. She is an incredibly talented vocalist and some of her radio hits are fun for a bit but I don't find myself going back to them. I can't find something interesting enough to go back to her album either, without implying it's boring, it's just not something that hasn't been done before I guess (to me).
30 is definitely my favourite album of hers. The lyrical phrases and the defined themes she went with all throughout the album, as well as the perfectly nuanced intermingling of genres and influences are beyond commendable. You can also hear how meticulously she ‘curated’ this album, as it sounds very consisent, despite all the different genres and themes that are present. I feel this is the most creative and out-of-the-box she has been so far, and that’s probably why I like it so much.
I was just listening to set fire to the rain yesterday, it was on my Uber driver’s radio, I think it speaks to the strength of 21 as an album that it’s STILL playing next to more contemporary pop music
You know I hate to be that person that’s like oh when you’re bigger you sound better but in Adele’s case that’s true. I love 30 because of how personal and different it is but her vocals were unmatched on 21 and 25. On 19 well she was 19 she still had some developing to do but I definitely think the weight played a part in her robust sound that she doesn’t quite seem to have any more.
Hold On is my favorite on 30 it's such a beautiful track. 21 is certainly her best, every time I hear her name my mind says "There's a fire starting in my heart" every single time and I just start singing the song.
