The line about the money in buried mayonnaise jars cracked me up. My grandparents were immigrants and they were exactly like that. They didn't bury their money in the backyard but they sure as hell preferred stashing cash in some secret hiding place instead of the bank.

"HERE"S A WING!" Oh man this looks good for what it is.

I saw this at a screening and it is TERRIBLE and here's why: Firstly, this movie makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!!! If the premise is that Sebastian comes from a modest family, why does he have Versace underpants in the water scene and always wears an expensive watch? This Italian schtick routine Sebastian does can be found in ANY joke books from the 80's. The ONLY people that this movie would appeal to are Italians, and they've heard all these jokes if they've ever read a joke book. Did Sebastian just blatantly copy the Meet The Fockers script and add cliche Italian jokes? Lana (Ellie) and her family come off VERY pretentious and dim witted. Sebastians father Salvo comes off as uneducated and ignorant. Plus, all the acting is utterly embarrassing. This is a bomb and painful to watch!

Robert dineros acting ability woven into a cool storyline (Sebastian monasucos stand up routine) with a really good comedian who showed his acting progress in the “Greenbook”. Sebastian is quite likable and very talented, I see a jump from Stand up to acting work. I could see a sitcom about a Italian American family in the 70-80 in Long Island or North Jersey.

Remember when trailers show the whole movie and we're fine with it? I'm fine with this :-)

I have not yet seen this film, I will watch it with my 16 and 20 year old children, who when they bring friends home ... they are ashamed of their fifty year old Italian father who likes to cook, who does not speak perfect English and think that family is the most important thing in life! The origins, traditions and roots where we come from and were born, this summer we brought for their friends annual summer holidays Tuscany where we make wine and then Lake Como where I grew up and I believe, I hope their friends have understood a little more about this no longer young Italian father.
