I’ve come to the conclusion that infinite is just Reach 2 but without unlocks, Elites, game modes, maps, a good weapon or vehicle sandbox, and a worse soundtrack. The only part of infinite that gets consistent updates is the store
i kind a figured that out almost as soon as i saw the reach ar, then the full game came out and confirmed it. they really took a lot from reach but had no idea how to make it just as good or better.
@@DeFantasticFiend bro you're just so wrong 1. maps don't stand out, they're all pretty basic. 2. the vehicles are actually worse, no gauss hog, rocket hog nerfed to hell, revenant's better than the chopper, wasp is debatable. 3. reach weapons were just so much better in function and aesthetics.
@@dg7347 1. the maps released are way better and actually give the maps a lot of good variety although rn I'll say the game has too many forge remakes across playlists atm although I prefer it over tons of maps being recycles parts from the campaign, 2 the vehicles are way better, there's more counters to them but their damage output is higher, especially if you have a ghost or wasp, the only problem with the vehicles rn is the that the tanks still kinda control like ass. 3. thats a joke right, have you tried to use a focus rifle, or a that weird useless replacement for the brute shot, or was it weapon bloom on precision weapons what draws you in? reach's sandbox was so ass the only redeeming thing was the grenade launcher
@@DeFantasticFiend infinite map designs are incredibly boring and layout are so linear their like gears maps which i hate. reach had much better human and covenant design, everything about infinites designs are too plain, except for cosmetics but thats whole nother can of shit. infinites vehicles are just super weak also they didn't even add any new vehicles, first new halo to not add any new ones. have you tried the hydra, pulse, disruptor, and plasma pistol, they are totally useless. weapon bloom was an issue probably the only down side to reach compared to the dozens infinite has.
@@theknave1915 I would say it's not a good idea to tell people to "be happy by settling for less" when the gaming industry is hyper competitive right now even with some indie games doing a much better job delivering better products than a lot of triple A devs (that obviously includes Halo). Also, try not to imply someone is not a gamer because they complain about 2 year late fixes and additions we all want Halo to be good even if some of us (myself included) choose to be critical of it :)
I completely agree with you on terms of the firefight maps. I was expecting entirely new maps/forge made specifically for firefiight, not forge made for matchmaking. I feel like the firefight game mode could be due for some changes, like bringing back the lives or cutting down the respawn time.
Meanwhile mintblitz and other creators tell you.. OMG 343 DID IT! or THE UPDATE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR and let's not forget 343 FINALLY FIXED IT! like bro..they couldn't fix their way out of a cardboard box. but I get it RU-vid is mostly a game of chance and when or if you start getting some success you don't stop just keep riding the wave. But all the clickbait dose impact the community negatively like saying in BOLD LETTERS...343 FINALLY ADDED CONTENT OR MOD SUPPORT AND THEN you hop on console which is a platform that a good chunk of the community is on only to find out the update was for PC but hey...them views and watch time ams I right!?
I mean, I dont hate mintblitz and other content creators who are like minded Im sure they love the game and want it to succeed. I do think it can be a bit jarring if all they do is inject positivity in the content creation sphere and clickbait titles that arent entirely correct. I talked about this a bit on stream Ubernick who Im sure is a good guy but I really dont know how he could title a video “Halo has reached its full potential” then weeks later make a video titled “Halo Infinite is complete” like the timeline doesnt make sense (also, I dont believe the game is complete for various reasons that I wont get into now). Obviously, since I dont have a big audience I do have to try to make an engaging title and thumbnail because I do put in a decent amount of work in my videos and I want them to be seen so you could use the argument against me to a certain extent… but you know Id probably never make a video titled “Halo Infinite playable elites” baiting people into thinking its happening and then find out the video was just me asking for them :)
@@TheDirtyCubeMan yeah and like I said I don't blame creators for trying to earn a meal ticket but bro it stings me every time to find out that this game despite the effort and support it gets is 3 steps forward 8 steps back and the fact they lied to us about split screen then after the community discovered that it works and 343 just shrugged their heads like...yeah..we lied ggs and I deeply apologize for not referencing the fact 343 outsourced half the project and then there's 343 staff that where poorly mistreated even at the mid level and the devs that cared about the product where not taken seriously thats what really messed with me because no one should be subject to that kind of treatment but it is what it is and despite the way things are I encourage you to keep making videos on the subject because I remember a time when I was some stupid kid that spent half his summer nights playing campaign missions and custom games with guys that where a bit too loud at 2 am on a week day but no matter what always keep it real and keep making halo videos because who knows maybe someone from 343 might see it and it could help I know wishful thinking lol but I'ma stop ranting stay safe out there and from one creator to another good luck friend.
It definitely would have been nice if they included more new firefight specific maps. Use more campaign areas, or new firefight forge maps. Remake old Reach/ODST firefight maps in forge. My personal favorite from Reach was Beachhead. We're still playing on the same maps again but hopefully they expand on the mode in the future and don't take too long.
Yeah I do expect them to add more to firefight it's just a shame that they decided to debut in a way that feels a bit rushed considering it's on multiplayer maps and just only one game mode like the whole point I was trying to make criticizing it is that this was a highly anticipated game mode that should have had more to really try and blow people away but it doesn't seem like it has in terms of bringing people back. I think they pulled the trigger too early I would have been fine if they saved it for next season if it meant a much better showing but now it may not have the same impact as it could have had if they waited longer but only time will tell if that's true.
@@TheDirtyCubeMan Halo infinite IS the definition of a trigger pulled too early. Imagine if the game had been complete DAY ONE in late 2021 : No D-sync, every old game modes, actually cool and rewarding events, cross core and customisation, pre and post game lobbies, good vehicle destruction, extended sandbox with old equipment and weapons i mean DMR shoulda been here day one dude, no shitty UI which take FOR EVER to load my fcking armor colours, a good and complete campaign story, firefight, forge, online and couch coop, custom game browser, fileshare, a working theater mode, no frustrating challenges and shitty challenge swaps, a proper progression system (WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO UNLOCK CUSTOMISATION, SO YOU ACTUALLY PROGRESS TOWARD SOMETHING EACH RANKS AND NOT ONLY THE GODAMN IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH HERO RANK + SHIT BATTLE PASS FILLED WITH EMBLEMS FOR CHRIST SAKE), playable elites, collision between players, grenade jumps, gravity on the gravity hammer (for real ...), reports / anti cheat / join in progress ranked game ... Ho and as 343 i would not get involved into dumb shitstorm about e-sport, because it's the best way to advertise the game and respect pro players (i don't know how they managed to fuck it up THAT bad so even pro players don't wanna play tournaments anymore). Just imagine, as a free to play, how popular Halo infinite COULD have been ? But today, it is way too late. We waited 2 years for infection or firefight man, i'm so MAD. 8 years of dev and the game is still not even as complete or as polished as Halo Reach.
@zobizob2305 trust me, you dont have to tell me this I very much share that sentiment which is what I was trying to explain a bit in the video. A lot of people claim Halo Infinite is a complete or redeemed game but I know it’s not its more like in it’s atonement phase I feel like people are being way to generous to it still and are probably wondering “why firefight isnt bringing people back on mass”. Ive been saying this for the past 5 months when the game started getting fixed people are not excited for more old Halo and fixes being advertised as “new” content they want more than that and it doesnt help that this game doesnt respect your time when it comes to cosmetic progression the one thing Halo used to do well. It really is a shame but you know… thats modern triple A gaming (thats not me saying its fine)
I mean who knows if Im ever blessed to be in their shoes where some of them make money off of this I may take a step into the dark side :) Nah probably not, hopefully nothing happens to me that changes my intentions for the worst. Id say there is some level of clickbait with what Im doing but it’s very difficult when you try to center a channel around more genuine feedback especially when Im not entirely on board with most content creators saying “Halo is back” prematurely.
@@TheDirtyCubeManI agree with your last bit a lot. Halo isn't "Fixed" yet. It's too early to say what the state of halo is. In my experience, I've had two matches now that have dropped to under 30 Fps while playing firefight, which screams to me there's still stability issues. This strikes me as weird because I'm on Series X with an Ethernet connection, so poor performance is extremely seldom for me, and when it is, it's always server side
This is definitely the most sensible breakdown of the infinite update. Ive seen nothing but Halo shills who never even understood what made the old games good praising the new update with zero pushback since everyone who hates the game (me) stopped caring months ago. Just appeared in my recommended and I enjoyed
Thank you! You’re one of the only real, logical thinking people I’ve seen talk about this update and the state of Halo at the moment. 343 has a few good updates, releases Firefight after 2 years and everyone is all like, “Oh man, Halo is back” or “I used to hate 343, but now they’re better than Bungie.” Like, just stop. When are people going to learn? This is the same shit I’ve seen in the past, not much has changed, Halo’s still in a fucked up state.
Thanks Eh, I just think a lot of Halo fans want to be happy with a Halo game and are willing to drop the standards a bit if it makes it easier to reach that goal which, I understand I’ve sometimes felt that impulse. I just cant bring myself to think that way Im someone who tries to be open minded and take everything into account and hold the game to a reasonable standard and they still have a lot of work ahead of them to make up for not just the past 2 years of Halo Infinite but the past decade of Halo devolving into a niche franchise. 5 months of easy wins isn’t enough which, unfortunately for some fans it is but you know… agree to disagree I suppose. Im still open to Halo Infinite making a comeback I just know it hasn’t happened yet we’ll see how they do in 2024.
I feel like I’d need a bit more evidence on that. I use steam charts and top games played on xbox to give me an idea of where its at and Im aware of the buzzwords companies use to proclaim their product is popular Id need much more specifics that are somehow better than the two things I listed. Id also, be curious on how much they lost.
You praise Reach as the gold standard for having firefight in at launch and critize Infinite for re-using multiplayer maps for Firefight. But every single firefight and multiplayer map in Reach at launch was a re-used campaign section in order to get the game out on time. Just feels like kind of a double standard to me idk. Not trying to be antagonistic, but i feel like we shouldn't really hold Reach up as the way to do things and then criticize Infinite's firefight for basically cutting the same corners. I would love to have unique new levels for the gamemode, but if the re-used levels work well for the gamemode (and they do) I don't really see it as a problem if it lets the team focus on more nessesary issues. And they did add one area from Infinite's campaign as a firefight map.
I feel like you missed a couple things I mentioned. For starters, I did mention the map bit was more of a preference not something Id say is a huge problem. The argument Im making is “it could have been cooler if they reused campaign assets” I am literally saying go on and reuse your assets so I dont know why you think I have an issue with just the act of reusing something nor am I even suggesting make brand new maps. Two things I brought up were that campaign maps were designed for PvE encounters meaning they could have been a much better experience as well as a fresher experience since we haven’t played on campaign maps in multiplayer at all. There are no double standards here I genuinely don’t know what you mean when you say that. Also, I briefly mentioned Halo 3 odst as well :) Also, I wouldnt try and take shots at Halo Reach as a way to defend Halo Infinite thats going to be an uphill battle.
The thing is, Reach is a good game made by incredibly smart dudes. Infinite, was made by hordes of indian, chinese, vietnamese, and indonesian, tech support scammers and most of the content it receives are just store items. Infinite is just a shallow and horrid copy of Reach but fails in every category
It's a good video and I agree with most of your opinions, but I'm still tired of the argument that comparing the content of Halo games from the xbox one generation and those from the 360 is a glaring lack of knowledge about the complexity of game development these days. Halo Reach had the Forge, firefighting and many more features at launch than Halo Infinite did when it was released, and this is still the case today. The state in which Halo Infinite's multiplayer was released is not normal, and I hope that this will serve as a lesson once and for all for 343I's next game. But once again, the challenge of developing a Halo game becomes more and more difficult as costs get higher, dev time much longer, not to mention the challenges of ensuring cross-platform operation between the Pc and Xbox Series (even the xbox one fat potato) that Bungie didn't have to deal with back in the day. In reality, everything I've just listed is a problem that goes beyond the Halo license and affects the whole industry, where people expect more and more beautiful, complete, complex games... without understanding that it can't be as simple as it was back then.
No I get what you mean I'm very much aware game development is not easy but the reason I bring it up is because I don't think anyone is asking for too much from a triple A studio. This is 343 who is backed by Microsoft and they couldn't even deliver split screen on launch not even co-op meanwhile an independent studio like Larian was able to deliver that day one with Baldur's Gate 3 or a game called Battle Bit that was made by 3 people managed to have a more stable multiplayer experience than Halo Infinite. I don't think it's fair to the game industry as a whole to say "game development is hard" as a way to alleviate some of the backlash that some games absolutely deserve nor should it be a thing players have to worry about. Doesn't mean I lack any kind of sympathy for the crap some of the devs have been through but the overall point I'm trying to make is that nothing is okay about this whole picture and its my hope more people will hold Halo to a higher standard instead of lowering the standards for w.e reason which, could very well lead to all this happening again. This is probably the most important time for people to be critical of Halo and demand better now that there has been some restructuring at the studio(something that wouldn't have happened had people not quit the game on mass and left a very angry letter on their way out) instead of trying to tell people they should only be positive (I'm not saying that's what you're doing but a good amount of people in the community very much shame criticism which is not a good idea).
