I worked in Mount Weather pre 9-11 and can honestly tell you that although it does house and is in use by FEMA it is no longer a place of refuge for the president or congress. The newest facility for that purpose would be Raven Rock here in Maryland which is basically part of Camp David. The coolest thing I found out while working at Mt Weather was that when I went in to get my service ticket signed there was an overhead photo of the place with a thick red line drawn from the mountain straight into DC to the White House and when I sked I was told that it was an underground subway to evacuate essential personal to Mt Weather in the event of an emergency... Now think about this for a min, this place was built back in the 50's supposedly and they were capable of digging an underground tunnel hundreds of miles long at that time when supposedly that technology and TBM's did not reach the civilian market until the late 80's?? And then you read about these supposed undergrond highways and military bases all over America and people claiming that its not possible? Bull friggen shit! lol. I read an article about a guy who back in the late 80's had come across evidence that the government possessed technology and the equipment that can tunnel underground using a thermonuclear tungsten tip that basically just turns the rock in front of it to molten glass that it then pushes to the outside using it to fill cracks in the tunnel providing an unbelievably strong and smooth tunnel wall eliminating the need for any type of retaining wall to be installed like conventional modern tunneling equipment. In all honesty you have to realize that the technology we receive here in the civilian world is at least 20-40 years behind what the government is currently working on and utilizing. I have been lucky enough to not only live in the Maryland DC area but as well be part of an industry that has taken me inside of some pretty wild places and even a few that I will not talk about. I have worked in the White House and the Capital building, to the Library of congress, the old executive office building, Mount Weather, Andrews Joint Air Force Base and have even worked in Hanger 19 which is where Air Force One ( was given a pack of presidential peanut M&M's by the pilot of A.F.1 that have Obama's signature on them! Not an Obama fan but cool none the less) and her sister plane are kept as well as a few others also in the special and black ops buildings on base. I have worked at the A.F.E.T.A which is the Armed Forces Experimental Training Administration which is where the military goes to play with new toys. I have worked in a few different places in MD and VA that manufacture and build rocket propulsion systems and have seen test firings on their ranges and have seen their manufacturing areas where they put parts weighing as much as 2 tons on special pallets and are able to push them around with one finger because the entire floor is like an air hockey table! I have worked in many different embassy's, the navel mapping station, Ft Benning (crazy space shit lol), the NRL, D.I.S.A. the Defense information System Administration, NSA (self explanatory), both C.I.A. buildings (the old building in Langly Va and the new building at Patriots Park VA)As well as every prison and military base in the area and quite a few other places that I will not mention and a few that I have forgotten. All I can say is that it has been a very very cool ride and I have enjoyed the privilege my country has given me to have had visited and worked in these places!
