I think you forgot to break in the motor . HH have a guide on there website for brushed motors. 2.5-3 Volt for 3-5 minuts. Without load . To seat the brushes .
Hi there I know it can sometimes be good to swop out your plastic gears for metal ones. But it can also be bad, too. If everything is metal and the car jams up then something else will break. If so this could be a lot more expensive to replace than a plastic gear. I'm just telling you this through many years of experience. So be very careful what you replace, plastic for metal as it could be far more costly for you in the long run.
Hi Robert, that's sound advice, thank you! I've left the plastic spur gear and slipper clutch in place, so hopefully that will save me if it locks up 🤞🤙
Try this one. Alternatively you can buy the official Absima ones from them or perhaps another online supplier. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002100433247.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.2433226c6rY2MJ&algo_pvid=e56dbc6c-a860-49a5-89a6-907c0e3e3fac&algo_exp_id=e56dbc6c-a860-49a5-89a6-907c0e3e3fac-3&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2212000018740878965%22%7D
@@sailingachilles7810 how were the portals and diffs. If dry it might be worth cracking the gearbox open, just to be sure. If they were well greased then the gears probably will be too.
Hi Phil just subed to you're channel ,fantastic way you explain things ,could you please tell me where you got the small electric hex-driver you are using .Thanks.
Thanks and Welcome. The driver is a Xiaomi Mijia from Banggood. The link below is an affiliate link so if you do get one it will help out the channel a little. Cheers 🤙 www.banggood.com/custlink/vGGdNpz9Jb
Hi, if I'm being totally honest I didn't change it because there wasn't one in the kit that I bought and I did not think to see if one was available. I have not had any issues with the plastic spur gear so far though, so unless it fails I have no intention of replacing it.
@@predator50260 Honestly, I wouldn't bother unless you are looking to change the gear ratios significantly. Also I think it helps to have a plastic gear in there in case of a lock up somewhere in the drive train, better to strip a plastic gear than burn out other components.
Hi. You want the slipper to slip when the wheels are bound up, so wheelies are not a clutch issue. I assume that’s in second gear? If it’s too fast you might need to get a smaller pinion gear for the motor.
I kept the stock pinion on its on my friends car I did work for him I’ve got same in my Trx 4 with no issue what’s stock pinion on Sherpa and what would you suggest going to Thanks
@@bentasker2265 the 21t stock motor is equal to about 2000kv, so will need to gear down. Stock pinion is 16t (mod 0.8/32dp). Maybe try 13 or 14t. Or just try 2s if you are running 3s.
@@bentasker2265 so long as you get the right pitch (0.8mod/32pd) it should be good. Check that there is enough adjustment on the motor mount to be able to move the motor a bit further inward towards the spur so you still get a good mesh. Could also try calming some of the settings on the fusion so the take off and brake force are less aggressive.
The motor is great, worth it for the price. Bit more speed than the stock one and smoother low end control. I would say the metal gears made no difference other than being louder! Long term I'm sure they will be more robust, but next time I would probably just buy a set and only install them IF the plastic ones broke or wore out. Hope that helps. 🤙
@@davidhazelden2054 not sure at the minute. Floating a few ideas around, but leaning towards doing a Low CG "Belly Dragger" based off an Element Enduro builders kit. 🤙
Thanks 😎. I don't think there are any overdrive gears available at present, not that I have seen at least. Would be good to get 10-15% overdrive in the front I think. 🤙
