Absolutely well done! Sorry I didn't check out the video earlier, but better late than never, right? Love your clean and chill stealth style, goes very well with this kind of run. Palisade especially was a joy to watch. I'm usually very thorough, but somehow missed the vent at 1:08:50 and took waaay longer to get through security. That alone deserves a like :) Now if someone ever asks me to do an AZ run for DXMD I know where to send them.
Holy S***! Welcome back! Thanks for checking out the run. Absolutely loved your original HR AZ and when i realized i wouldn't get to watch an MD one i thought i'd try it myself. Was a lot of fun to do, thank you very much for the inspiration. Good to see you doing vids again too, look forward to watching.
Apart from showing excellent stealth routes in general, I can't help but be massively impressed by the clean path you found for the final mission, which is normally very chaotic. Fantastic run, thank you for making this.
Yoho, cool to see that someone did this for Mankind Divided! In the Speedrun community we did this quiet often with Human Revolution! :D The fastest run for Absolute zero in DXHR is atm 1:11:44. Gonna show this to the speedrun community. :D
I remember throwing all(15+) of my EMP nades during the final battle and somehow it was over xD Didn't have a chance to appreciate the awesome level designs. Good job
This is extremely impressive, of course but one thing bugs me about the game itself: Suppose you're guarding an area; an object flies over your head -- would you turn around to see how it was thrown, or would you inspect the point where it lands? The NPCs do the latter because they respond only to the sound the object makes; their peripheral vision doesn't notice it in flight. Considering that DX _usually_ promotes natural world-thinking over 'game'-thinking, this is quite disorienting; because thinking 'naturalistically', you wouldn't throw objects around like that.
There have been a few games that went to the effort of letting the guards see the object and turn toward you instead. Metro Exodus did it recently, but it wasn't in previous games, for throwing knives at least: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lO7mLg9ID1A.html
I was doing this entire run and got stumped by Marchenko and look this up... and I don’t even know how the hell you figured this out but you are next to godlike.
Thx! Working out Marchenko fight took longer than the entire rest of the game, took some luck too. If you made it all this way your reward should be using the kill switch! :) Congrats on your run!
An excellent playthrough to watch. Well played ! You are a quality and informative player, worthy of my sub. Please keep up the good work ! Goodspeed my friend.
I am astonished that you could pull something like 38:48 or 1:09:15 off without alarming anyone. And strange, why did you need the HUD in 1:02:30 ? But the craziest thing must be at 2:01:50
The bit at 1:32:10 was probably the most sketchy, grabbing the keycard in the Dvali theatre. It used to have annotations throughout the vid that explained some of the details, sadly youtube stopped them a little while back and they got removed. The HUD part wasn't needed for the run, i was just interested to see which tripwires were actually hitting me and how much damage they did. Dropping down the lift shaft with the bin was actually less than it should have been, was supposed the ride the bin down, but it's either a trick i can't do or not possible on console. Check the link in the description to Prenatual's original HR run that inspired this, if you liked my run you'll love his. You'll also get to see the proper bin ride trick, on fire extinguishers no less by the master himself. Enjoy!
It was a nod to the original Human Revolution run (link in description, it's a must watch) that let certain characters die as long as it wasn't directly caused by Adam. I let quite a few die in this, Singh, Jim, quite a few Londoners, sry London.
I used to have annotations that explained everything, but sadly youtube got rid of them, will try to update the description at some point. With the window i sat there for 10mins so that the boss would trigger the explosives, it was part of a kinda side objective for the run to let as many people get killed by indirect means as poss in homage to the original Human Revolution Run by Prenatual that inspired it, more info and link in the description. Why i let a few of the characters die throughout the run.
It's takes quite a while to break walls like this, I skipped around 5mins of footage to not bore the viewer. I did have annotations explaining everything but annoyingly youtube remove the feature.
This video had ALL the answers to things I had questions about that I couldn't find in any other RU-vid video. God I hope the company that bought the rights to this game makes another that's just as epic with a longer story and better ending possibilities. You definitely earned yourself a subscriber!
I'm seeing tonnes of new things/locations here, that I couldn't get to (stealthily) with full HUD, plenty of items and all relevant augments..... Fantastic run!
Such a great game, it is so great that you can chose how to play, it becomes a whole new game again just by choosing some rules of your own, i'm sure lots of people did a no kill run and a kill all run too. It's very satisfying watching a run where no searching or item management is involved too.
It was in homage to the original HR run by Prenatual (linked in description, it's a must watch) that inspired this run. He would let certain story npcs die as long as Jensen wasn't directly responsible.
I wish hehe, doing this on permadeath mode would be quite a feat. There was a couple of sections that took quite a few reloads, like the boss and Dvali territory.
When I read "no augs" I was expecting the obvious, like not using stealth/typhoon/TESLA, etc. Then I saw you ram through a big pile of crates to avoid picking them up, and begin stacking cardboard boxes to get around using the high jump. That's "no augs" to a whole new level. This is gonna be a good one. EDIT And didn't even want to break through the wall. Damn, that's dedication. Yep, this is gonna be interesting. DOUBLE EDIT 0/10, using the hacking augmentation to get through the door. Shit run. Absolute trash.
Hehe i hope you enjoy it, the rules i had to stick to are in the description and a link to the original run/video that set the rules, it's a must watch if you enjoy these types of runs. No takedowns was the biggest challenge tbh.
There isn't for no takedowns, but there is for no kills and not being spotted, got a walkthrough of doing both on my channel in permadeath mode, which is another achievement. This run here is basically a challenge run based on the rules from the original Absolute Zero run in Human Revolution by Prenatual, linked in the description if you wanna watch it.
@@ImmersionMode no, i mean the part right after the intro, when you are at the first visit in prague - 10:40; normally there is an explosion at the station - you skip the whole part, and start right away in apartment. how :)?
Good job! would be even more impressive if done on top difficulty. have you tried it in most difficult game+ level? i thinks some of the paths will not work on the most difficult level "real deus ex" plus game mode (or whatever it called), there are too many enemies looking at your direction from opposite sides. some paths will require invisibility . Plus we can not see if you have been noticed or not (ideally you would want pass even without triggering yellow radar sign).
This was the on the hardest difficulty, "Give me Deus Ex" part of the rules detailed in the description. New game + sadly doesn't change anything with guards or patrols (that would've been great) so no increase in difficulty at all. Turning the HUD off was a way to increase difficulty further, they start shooting if you've been spotted so it's very easy to tell if you been seen. Yellow they will break patrol and investigate, even if they're off screen you can her them saying "I think i see something" or similar. The only time they should go on yellow here is when i want them to, i.e. used a distraction and obviously these are needed for the run so no yellow isn't poss. There is a permadeath mode "I never asked for this" which you get after beating the game once (can't be done in NG+) got a vid for it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J_GZNz57xUU.html, but it was more of a trophy guide for the mode and the ghost/pacifist trophies where i used augs to get through it as safely and fast as poss, might be more what you're after though. Only way to make the Absolute Zero run more difficult would be to do it on that mode.
@Immersion Modethanks for reply, I passed the game in a clumsy mode 2 years ago, this time tried only stealth. Big fun of Deus series starting from the first one. I was just trying to check bestter path during curfew from Adams home to metro and back, when I looked at your guide you are going the same way, but there was no way to pass it without invisibility, too many guards looking at you, at least 3 from one side ,and 2 from the other, 2 of them turning and walking but it is not enough, and you are not using distraction there, so I have to assume it is due to difficulty level. I tried distraction there ,not much help, all guards are spreeded so well . I think passing there without triggering yellow radar and not using aug is impossible . I only care about yellow radar because of ghost achievement as a sign of true stealthiness. By the way I find jumping on top of the station when coming out of it is a bit safer.n. I am playing in "oermadeath" I never asked for it" mode with patched option to play as normal with savings etc. So maybe it adds more difficulty , on the other hand I guess I could pass it without invisibility triggering just yellow occasionally. Just checking how much could be done without augs.
@@Vtlkvtlkvtlk I know the bit you mean now (1:40:20) and i do get yellow for the one of the final two guys, you can hear him say "Hello?" in his Bane voice haha. The timing for that part needed to be spot on, gotta take the wide line too. It may just be that your guard patrol is slightly different due to different timing. I feel like i probably get one or two yellow in Dvali theatre as well, that bit was sketchy and of course with certain cameras/bots. I didn't know they added a save to permadeath, maybe they've changed detection to be more strict too. Be good if they upped the difficulty, it did need it tbh. I heard they fixed Breach mode so i was gonna come back to it myself soon, been saving 2 dlcs to play. Ghost is actually just alarms iirc, so you don't have to be too worried about yellow awareness. Yellow can be nicely manipulated in many games, was using it to great effect in Sekiro, it's the red i hate, never wanna see that!
@@Vtlkvtlkvtlk Dishonored, Prey, Alien Isolation, Metro Redux come to mind for stealth games similar to Deus Ex in gameplay formula. Not much in the Cyberpunk genre tbh, Deus Ex is the only i know with stealth until 2077 comes out. Dishonored is my top recommendation, probably the best for stealth, but it's Steampunk rather than cyber, Prey and Alien will have the sci-fi vibe and attention to detail, but the stealth isn't quite as good imo. Metro Redux is really cheap in the ps4 store atm, well worth it, but it's fps mixed with stealth.
You mean at the beginning? Watch the first 10mins and you see how i get past them without augs, the wall was a pain. Level 1 hacking was allowed for the run.
@@ImmersionModethe first weak wall in dubai ......??? i have thrown the toolbox at the weak wall about 50 times and it still wont break...what...how....How did you break the wall ?..... edit... Ok i got it!!!! it took about 60 throws and it finally broke. ..
@@ImmersionMode Mate im trying!! I watched you do the first level and decided to have a crack myself before i watch anymore. Takes the game to a whole new level aye . Ill prob refer back to your vid if...........i mean WHEN, i get stuck haha
@@dashballantyne612 Good on you! Definitely a good idea to try it yourself before watching more, i had a tonne of fun trying to work it all out, i'm sure you'll enjoy it too. let me know how you get on or if you want any tips. Dishonored was really fun for a minimal run as well, definitely recommend it.
Yh just not allowed to improve hacking augs via praxis. There's more rules/exception in the description, following the same rules set by Prenatual for their Human Revolution run that this one is based on.
@@kangaxx4396 I actually cut 5mins from that wall break with the box. The video used to have annotations detailing everything, but annoyingly youtube removed the feature and everything i had wrote :( Hope you enjoy/enjoyed the run nonetheless :)
