This is proof for the people that don't believe that its a human drummer so FAST!!! and that he indeed does sing and drum at the same time... thanks!!!
Brilliant player, so talented. Thanks to this vid we can see that he one-foots his blasts. He also seems to have put a little weight on... which is cool, everyone knows that fatter drummers own.
@NogiLurtik i must totally agree. And the thing is, it's actually Great songwriting, too. fer real the songs encompass such a real diversity of styles, but they always rock!! Sometimes, with some metal bands who have really awesome skills (I.E., technical Deathmetal), it just becomes way too "look how fast we can play" and they forget that people actually want to listen to and Feel something from the music. yah, Absu 2009 will hopefully be 'logged' as a classic as time goes by...
He said he was the third pick for the drummer but replied. " I truly believe that all the drummers that auditioned for the band were not going to get the position to begin with. I think it was just a ploy to bring Lombardo back into Slayer full-time." Plus his views and beliefs were different from theirs.
I used to see this one with a far more great resolution ... but at a speed decreased 1/2. Ho my ... !!! I already consider Sir Proscrtiptor as one of the "better" ... he is clearly one of the "be(a)sts" !!!
@Murkelrabe a) I'm not sure why you're so concerned about what shape he's in, as long as he can still play, b) there were 8 years between the release of Tara and the release of Absu. The guy is probably in his early 40s, considering he was doing stuff with Magus in like 1991. Absu are as good as ever. Though I don't think "Absu" (the album) is better than Tara, it still trumps anything earlier than Tara as a coherent album.
Funny, thats exactly how I feel about Sock Puppets. No one understands them. Maybe we can have a "Sock-O-the sock puppet and ABSU show sometime? That would be MEeal Mayhem. Imagin, sock puppets and ABSU at the same time on the same stage. It would be EPIC!!!!!!!!!
man!! i fuckin discovered this band a few minutes ago.. and I just can't believe this.. how many time without listening this guys Proscriptor is a fuckin god He would teach so many things to those idiots from Slipknot
Why did he simplify and dumb down the drum part between 2:18 and 2:56?! That used to be one of the most creative drum beats he ever wrote. Now it's simple as shit!
